What's nuts is that just one of them Fox-3s cost WAY more than the Zero it was aiming to shoot down.
That stood out to me too.
But at least it's not more than the Ships that the Zeroes are/would be trying to sink.
And equipment is easier to replace than personnel, especially when your Nation's superpower is $

maybe you guys could do a long range mission where the goal is to return home afterwards (fuel conservation challenge with fully loaded planes) if the mission is an intercept or an actual strike mission is completely up to you.

Shame the server crashed but it was still a really fun watch. Great coordination between GCI and pilots and the overall tactic was sound. I have to say this was one of the all around top war games performances. Thanks for the entertainment today guys and gal!

I watch a GR video almost every day. Basically my favorite show is "Grim Reapers."
EXCELLENT deconfliction Grim Reapers!!!! That communication, especially right before the Raider was attempting to take off for the second time, that was excellent. That was swarm kill pro status.
By the way, the reason why the Zeroes are called 'Reisen' is because the Japanese kanji 零戦 for 'zero-sen' can also be pronounced 'reisen' (pron. RAY-sen). So they were often called that by Japanese people reading the kanji in that way.

@@jamesmaddison4546 when I was a kid my dad ran a charter service and sometimes dropped parachutists….. he had a convertible mustang at the time so they would sit on the folded top and ride out to the flight line….. we were running some out one day and at @25mph the guy on the right pulled the ripcord on the guy in the middle. He had just about enough time to say “you mother…” before disappearing off the back of the car…..a great time was had by all….well maybe not all.

In future wargames where you want an asset to return and rearm, you may be better off timing the rate at which that would happen and then just spawning in a new asset. For this simulation you could have set a 15-20 minute spawn rate for the raider and been pretty close.

Chainsaw is a good strat here, keeps a steady stream of missiles blunting the spear of zeros.
For that reason a platform that carries more missiles and fires on datalink would be even more effective.
Stealth is less useful on defense than offense so nonstealthy missile trucks might do well in this scenario.

The LRASM has AI technology, so the weapon can be programed on which ship to hit, to ensure no more than one weapon will hit the same target if need be. The LRASM can also be programed on which part of the ship you want to hit.
I lived at Andersen a couple of years up on the hill overlooking the airfield, somewhat near the big fuel tanks. It's good to see the similarity to the real place. Guam is beautiful. One little detail: I never, ever saw a landing or a takeoff in the direction of your landing regardless of wind direction.

The stealth is irrelevant. The Japanese fleet has no radar...only the Mark 1 Eyeball to detect the bomber.

I can't fathom how it would feel while you are out on your flight and your carrier utterly gets destroyed. A warbird with no home.
Reisen (Zero) because - "The A6M was usually referred to by its pilots as the Reisen (零戦, zero fighter)" - zero was the last digit of the Imperial year 2600 (1940) when the plane entered service. (According to Wikipedia, anyway).

We've seen the "one versus" challenge with B-21. Now, I'd really like to see what you can do when B-21 has many copies of itself to represent that current goal of 100+ in the final inventory. I don't have a really cool creative idea. However, perhaps celebrate the return of the server with a big boom-boom battle? I'd love to see a modern US CSG plus the USAF donating a flight of ~12 anti-ship B-21s and a small defensive escort of F-15s versus a combined Chinese and Russian joint/dual CSG? Since they have a bunch of offensive missiles and plenty of aircraft taking off, it would be all about finding the appropriate balance of USAF assets to create a generally close matchup.
Using non stealth F15’s to escort the B21’s completely removes the whole point of the B21’s. They would use F35’s, maybe F22’s to escort them
Not a close match up unless you also give the Russians/chinese some bombers

Two Raiders with a grand total of twenty-four LRASMs would've sunk all of the carriers and a few more of their escorts.
Next time, use two Raiders to compensate for the reduced payload. For simulations against Russian and Chinese fleets, send four.

Since radar visibility is not an issue, can't f-22 carry more weapons externally?

Why were the zeros taking off without seeing the stealth jets? They should have been caught with their pants down when their ships started blowing up from long range anti ship missiles.

Was deployed to Anderson and can confirm, the EOR does basically end at a big ass cliff and yes, there have been planes that fell off that cliff before after rolling past the EOR.

Not only with the airfield, but also the parks, PX, shopping, movie theaters, luxury housing, actually edible (actually decent) food, golf courses, high speed internet, ect. USAF personnel who have to stay on army bases for whatever reason actually get a bonus due to "substandard" housing.
The Raptor can carry external ordinance. It's not been done in actual combat but ....

Got an idea for a video, British carrier group vs us carrier group, with the British one having full capacity F-35s(stealthiest config) and the American one full capacity F-22s(stealthiest config).

F-22's can't be launched from a carrier. They're bigger and heavier than F-35's, they lack folding wings, they lack the tail hook for landing on a carrier, and they lack the structural rigidity to survive being launched repeatedly off a carrier deck.

Why not use weapons on the pilons? It's not like stealth would make much of a difference, right?
the version of the mod they use seems to be unable to mount weapons externally. It also doesn't have any thrust vectoring as far as i have seen.

This is going to seem like a dumb question, but would it not be more practical to use a flight of F-15 EX set up as full on missile truck for A2A and 2 Raiders for anti ship? Seems to me that might have gone a lot quicker.
No, 5 F-15X per heach F-22...that is the current doctrine of the USAF. F-15X is only a missile bus for the stealthy F-22's. F-22's are not supposed to fire anything. F-15X's would hang back 15-20 miles while the F-22's spot everything

Out of interest, wouldn't it be better to use the F18 in missile truck config? That way you'd kill many more enemy planes for each flight? I get the 'stealth' mission brief, but its not as if you need to be stealthy here! Hell, you could probably use a flight of B52s with as many A120/260s they could carry (assuming they can, which I don't know if they could).
That would make an fun video though, a flight of B52s with Aim260s vs a flight of 300 zeros! It'd probably kill the server and AWACS wouldn't be able to handle it, but it'd be a laugh!
Why is cap and the others going in to dogfight? Isnt it more effective to go back to base and chain more missiles in?
Cap what would be cool is if you could get a red and blue side to not know the mission or opponent and have to react as it develops rather than know how much and where the attack is coming from. Make the scenarios more realistic
duuude thats actually a pretty awesome idea!! Have like a team just go up on combat air patrol and then get intercepted by enemy fighters, during that have a mission update on something like team x is moving land based nuke launchers, go locate and take them out, and have aa systems protecting the launchers etc. Just an idea for a scenario, but this is DEFINITELY an awesome idea you came up with.
Given all the things in dcs like tanks, aa, ships, all that, the possibilities are endless
Also prevent them from knowing to attack the bombers and not aircraft because in the real world they wouldn’t know that as an F-35 or J-20. Get genuine war games
