HUGE names show up like ex world tour pro Phil Gaimon, current Mountain bike marathon National champion Payson McElveen, and current national crit and road race champion Justin Williams.
In this cycling race video at the redbull bay climb in San Francisco, I show you a quick highlight of the event followed by a vlog of the day. I show you my 3 efforts, talk to dudes who did way better than me, and just show you the life bro.

I got a TON of support from everyone out at the event and I cant tell you how AMAZING it makes me feel when people take their time to say hi. To all the bruhs and bruh-ets that said whats up, I FREAKING LOVE YOU!
The Vegan Cyclist u gotta pin ur own comment bruh
Gotta organize an official VC ride during the Christmas holiday
When the guy honked his horn and you were like this is not the forest😂
Nice to see you get a bit back from all that free advertising you've been giving Red Bull.
The Vegan Cyclist do u sell your jerseys as they look awesome
Definitely, a sprinters event even though it's a hill. Good to see RedBull getting behind road cycling events.
Will the extra weight get them a little?
@teknon my - why specifically 72kgs?
A quick Google search suggests rohan Dennis is 71kgs, and i'm sure he got lighter than that for the giro, interesting how he couldn't hang on when climbing, with froome and especially dumoulin, as he must've been similar weight
No mate, froome is approx 68kgs and dumoulin is approx 70 or so, as is geriant Thomas, so there isn't much difference in weight. Dennis has a v.high ftp (clearly, as he's such a fast tt rider) which makes it interesting why he couldn't climb that well with the best
What do you mean one day? You do something real cool all the time. That’s what keeps us tuned in.
Fantastic coverage of a challenging event. Fun to hear your take and the take of the other riders that you already knew or just recently met. Thanks!
Tyler, you have inspired me SO much young man!! I think you inspire a whole lotta cyclists young, old, experienced and novice. Keep it up!! Don't lose that fire....
Tyler's attitude makes him a winner already, keep it sick bruh!
My highlight was "I miss the forest" 😂
"One day I'm gonna do something cool" -VC , Just wanna note that you are already doing something cool by releasing all this great content on youtube bro!
Best coverage of the event I have seen so far. Great job racing also.
I've been waiting for this video from you since the event! Thanks!
Dang "bruv", that was sick video. Your videos just get better and better. This one was fast paced, had a lot of information, and was just darn cool. Keep up the good work VC. Sure to be a Red Bull athlete one day :D
Production value has improved notably since the last time I was here! You're also pretty funny, it's cool to see your personality come through a little more. Cheers!
Best video to watch right before first day back to work! so much fun! Great effort dude!!!
Great race and a great watch for the spectators,Great effort big man 👍 when I watched that I just thought of one thing PAIN 😆 hope you go back next year and tackle it again
Awesome dude! Glad you got stuck in. It’s always easy to make excuses before you even turn a pedal but man you crushed it!
Dude.....nice work, the quality of your videos has gone through the roof.
😂😂😂 this is so much different than the Forrest...
I love your vids bro. Always inspiring people 💪💪
Awesome job Tyler. Full sprint on 21% grade is serious business.
Such a sick vid and race! Cheers Tyler!
Drone footage is nuts! This is easily the best and most well produced channel on YT.
all the videos of this vid have been so good, kymnonstop, norcal, now you, really gotta go one day
Loved it as usual. Keep it up, victory is going to taste do freaked sweet
I haven’t been in a long ass time but I used to feel like that in the city too! Way to go, cool videos man
Hey Bru, thanks for the motivation!!
Great vid!
in my village there is like a 21% gradient which lasts for 20-30meters so when I climb it I am dead, you guys are beasts :)
Love your video and vibes!
Love the real talk Tyler! Thank you for the video!
"this is so different than the forest!". Lol oh man!!! Love it.
Great job, Lad. Regardless of your place, you're a champion of men.
@18:00 you talk about the continued burn and drive. I completely agree with that. The burn is always alive and cycling is so humbling. To feel strong, yet rarely see top 3.... it's the fuel keeping the shit burning!
Great vid and that climb was rediculous... I'm a big body and it looked like a leg crusher. wow oh wow, Great job out there. Thx for sharing!!!
100k subscriber by end of year! It's going to happen🤘
T. Burk I agree!
Cool competition, congratulations Vegan
Dude VC your the Mannn!!!! Your videos are truly inspirational. Between the seem less drone KOM footage, the insightful how to’s, vlogs like chasing money and now this one, and of course the sweet t-shirts. you truly are killing it man. I’ve gotten a road bike recently and a set of PowerTaps and I’m determined to start crushing it on the bike. You’ve even inspired me to start my own channel and I dropped my very first intro video. Any feedback would be awesome bruh! 🤙
"this is so much different than the forest!!". that made me legit chuckle
Classy as always!
Dude. I raced with (behind) Andrew (Terun 8th place) in one of his last cat5 races.... Just ~2 years ago... What a beast!!!!!!! From Cat5 to racing retired pros with cookie dependencies- in
Great intro! Gnarly hills.
Nice, Phil's like the cookie monster. Staying hungry is a good thing to bro.
10:22 Casual CZcams Cycling trifecta - Kymnonstop with the phone, Phil Gaimon next to you, and a VC video.
Eat some 🍌+🍎
Siiiick!!! Are you going to try any cyclocross this fall and winter? Would be cool to see you killing it on a cx bike!
Brilliant video love the intro 👍
This is AMAZING bruh!!!
I'm just here for the wicked beats and the watts, heyooooo!
Good job bruh...eye safety...head safety...inside/outside...all day everyday.
Dope video bruh!!
Legit video, good job! Looks fun
No excuses needed you did great.
Very, very very very cool video. YEEUTTT! 👍👍
Come race the Dirty Dozen in Pittsburgh in November! Its a ride up 13 of the steepest hills in the city.
Bar tape and bottle cages have got to be the reason you didn't get to the final. I know
it #veganexcuses
It's all about the wheels, I have round ones, that's why I can't win.
U should have taken the seat off if they let you xD
I've seen you before, somewhere...
gr8 video brooooo
Looks like fun - to watch
5:02 lmaaao "this is so much more different than the forest"
giamon is a beast dude. Love it. yuh
This is SO much different than the FOREST!!! Hilarious!! 😂🤣😂🤣
Nice climbing man, congratz! How do you warm up for such a short all out effort like that?
Lmao@this is so much different than the forest. Love city riding
Legit as always Bro!! You must be the national spokesmodel for POC? Send me
POC sunglasses you scratched up. Dude be safe
Such a rad event!
Always use the drone if you want sick shots. Love your vidz bra
Much respect that look nuts dont forget the chipotle burrito 😁
So cool man!
"Five minutes is where that sprint becomes a climb"........that is a legend speaking!
What hotel did you stay in while in SF? Looking into visiting SF and bringing my bike.
"This is so much different than the forest!" Best VC one liner yet.
So much different LOL. I missed my forest
That was awesome
LOL that shout out at the start of the phil heat was amazing. What was your average power for the climb?
Lol thats uhh me at uhh 7:22 to the right with the blue bike... Just got my shoes and it took me like 9 years to clip in aKWDAKWJD
Honestly would have beaten at least 1 other person I aint that much of a noodle (BTW I have been cycling for about 2 months and I paid for my own bike from getting a job at my local Mcdonalds...) rest in pepperonies
biskey7.wordpress.com/2011/04/02/bicycling-are-you-a-fred/
._.
That's pretty inspirational tbh, welcome to "cycling" and keep ridin'!
is that you!? oh man!
I was return this video so many time to thinking WTF with this guy? But I was thinking it was chain problem.
Cool event but a 1min climb is a weird skillset ... Hope to see u/phil again in some longer races
Says "I'm not gonna party" puts beta powder in water....
Hah I recognised you on Kims video, figured this one was coming
“This is just so different than the forest!” - lol - you’re so funny! Your editing was great in the early days...now it’s just off the hook “bru” !
Thanks bro! I was super happy with this edit so its awesome to hear you dig it.
what gear are you in to climb that?
My kinda climb! 1min strava special ha wish they had these events in my area. Nice vid.
What kind of hub are you running?
That red bull house was so pimp, lol.... do you know what the fastest fixie finishing time was compared to the winner? just curious how well the fxies did because I saw a lot of them... not sure why they would run flat bars though, the ideal setup seems like the stiffest bullhorn bars you could find + slammed -17 degree stem
Fastest fixie was 1m 08s (Z Gingnar). Fastest geared was 1m 04s (Dillon Caldwell & Payson McElveen). (sorry for the weird time format - if I do it normally it automatically creates a timestamp for the video.) www.strava.com/segments/17122645
Great job to all and to Scott Cohen for a great second place
san francisco is one of the better cities to ride in too haha it's chaotic but you learn to embrace it. it's a nice city to commute in
Hoot hoot ‘Oops this is so different to tha forest!’ Ha ha
That feeling when your stem makes it in to the vlog ~ 0:48
LOL. Why was your computer upside down?
The Vegan Cyclist Carryover from the track- less distractions. Unfortunately it also means I forget to turn it off~
Why do I hear the Ultimate Warriors entrance music.. Am a big dude trying to lose some weight to be a better climber , this video is serious motivation 💪💪 thank you.
where you live sir in California or Europe?
4:23 Phil's retribution for the VC Yosemite guided tour.
what camera did you use for head talk shot my Friend ? depth of field so nice & smooth :) Subbed
On this one I used a Sony A7 1, with a 14mm prime lens.
@@TheVCAdventures Cool - keep it up Man, i'm about to use a PM for some structure Training - Cheers
may I ask your weight for this race please?
I'm not a vegan nor am I a roadie haha but dude great video man!! Keep doing you bro ima sub
NOICE!
Technical question: what size chain rings and cassette did you ride today?
I had a compact, 34/28 is what I ran pretty much the entire time
Curious question. Do Red Bull-sponsored endurance athletes actually drink Red Bull?? Like Lucy Charles? I mean if everybody's doing it I guess I don't have to quit.
Ha! this is so much different than the forest lmao!!!
10:21 Kymnonstop
DUDE...VIP Band from RedBull...that's Bad A**!!
Hahaha. Ashton is the man!!!!
Damn I wanted to go to that
Music?
Great video :)
Good video, but what got my attention and I wish we could see more was that in the intro a guy was riding downhill on the handlebars? More footage please, that is absurd. 00:32
@TheVeganCyclist Dude, I own the very same helmet. As though I really love it for its cooling, the tests for its aero form are out. In the last Road Bike (German Edition) the POC Ventral was in the last place. No go for racing, I guess. ;)
Nothing hurts the lungs as bad as an uphill bike sprint. Man that must've hurt
DOPE
What was your final result? How many made it to the semi's?
Not sure my final result, I made it past the first round of 3. Top 12 were counted, I was not in that.
