    this channel is so relatable to most malaysians as most of us are staying in 2 storey terrace houses. yes, i agree, developer should incorporate skylight in new terrace houses to bring in natural light, esp for intermediate units.

      @linustw Před rokem

      Usually if footprint of terrace is over 55' in lenght then a courtyard is usually introduced.
      But most terrace houses are shorter than this.
      And many dont like courtyard. Its a waste of space.

  • @ara-six
    @ara-six Před rokem +15

    I really love the incorporation of natural light. However, it's equally important to ensure that the light doesn't raise the temperature inside the house. I appreciate architects who take into account the tropical climate when designing houses because direct sunlight can be extremely hot in Malaysia.

    This design has a lot of elements I have always loved, including the type of plants, the frangipani, furniture, tiles, especially the indoor "courtyard" with the skylight and louvres, which I still think every Msian house should hv because of our heat, as in the house many grew up in. I learned a lot.

  • @frankchong5585
    @frankchong5585 Před rokem +5

    Although some of the design wasn't for me especially the grasscrete (when it is new it is amazing but nightmare come to maintenance, think how you trim the grass and weeds removal) and how the aircon being "box" in there (it's not going to be maintenance friendly when it come to cleaning). For me, it is always about maintenance, how easy it can be maintain to retain as good as new.
    Having said that, I can tell the whole house design/taste fit perfectly for the family owner.
    More such old/mature double storey terrace house transformation videos will be good (more applicable to majority instead super rich)

    They did not notice a few very very very important things.
    1. the house is not in a guarded gated area. Malaysia is not the safest place to have a house with no window grills. 2. Look at their neighbor's fence, it was added with another level of sharp fences at time 10: 14, meaning, the area is not very safe and people have broken into the neighborhood before. 3. I applaud them for sharing their house location publically on social media. Yes, with the uniqueness of your house, you put yourself in a very vulnerable position, easily spotted on the LDP highway.

    Interesting and inspiring. Since you mentioned Feng Dhui there are a few multimillion-dollar Vedic Vastu homes in the Klang Valley in Malaysia. Vastu basically is the ancient Vedic design principles based on natural law where ecology is aligned to the cosmos and even our own human physiology. Its being revived ss Maharishi Vastu and there are office blocks as well as communities with vastu in the United States and its now happening here in Malaysia as well albeit on a smaller scale in the Klang Valley. Thank you for sharing. Its beautiful to enliven the design of space with natural intelligence.

    I always wonder why most of these designs have no extra grills like at the main entrance, windows and so on as a protection from the thieves to pecah masok? Even it's a highly gated area, even I've seen some non gated area houses that featured in designseed don't not have grills. What's stopping these owners to pasang these grills? Is it the doors, sliding doors or windows are highly secured & hard to break in? Anyone care to explain? Tq 🙏🏽🙏🏽
    Edit: actually this house is too pretty. Probably one of my most fav one featured by designseed. Like the design, touches of mix culture and it really feels like home although the architecture looks modern. 👌🏽👌🏽❤️
