These houses are not just beautiful but with so much character. Im glad to see a house that suits the southeast asian climate and not just an imitation of the western houses. You guys have given a house life on its own. Keep it up ❤️ from Manila
Until you see the historic and completely different building style of its surroundings. This build seems to also completely clash with its environment. Sometimes it's works, but from what we see here in the minimal shots provided it looks like a complete disaster.
Okay, so I'm not crazy about the color black for the walls in a home. But this... _this_ actually _works!_ I absolutely *LOVE* the trees growing in the middle of the home and all the plants. That, and the open concept make for an absolutely MAGNIFICENT home. It looks so serene and full of Zen. This is so very beautiful. 🙏
I laughed so hard when noticed Alex ran all the way up after went into the house and pretending he’s just come out to chill at the second floor balcony at 12:05. Awesome video btw
You've got an good eye mate! The lengths we go for to make good videos haha. It was an intentional subtle comedy there that we inserted to share at the end of the video. Thanks for noticing our effort. Cheers!
that house that you live in can really play a role in your mental health , the owner of the house not only look friendly but also relaxed and free and that is what a suitable house should give his owner,
this is very close to how I picture my tropical dream house; each corner is practical, built with durable and eco materials,a moderate deco but very well-designed, there is a ventilation with courtyard in the middle, easy access to natural lights, the mini pond to cool down the house , sideway louvered windows and additional layer of shields for privacy while still being connected to outdoors. love it!
Wow, thank you for bringing beauty in my life today. The video was captivating and beautifully shot. The houses were so beautiful and I would have never known them if it wasn't for you!!
Robert Powell is a pioneer, well respected writer for South-East Asia Architecture. This is a great example of a modern tropical house, well done One Earth!
♥️ it especially the interior. I love the leopard tree growing in the house. There's nature in the house which gives nice circulation of air since it's smartly built
Amazing video. Would it be possible also when making the video that price estimates of the renovation can be given too if possible so we can also roughly gauge how much it is.?
I love the common theme among many of the houses that is the seamless transition from interior to exterior or also bringing significant natural beauty indoors. Atriums, walls that open to balconies, and terraces above atriums leading up to skylights all make the homes feel as if they are in harmony with nature instead of fighting to keep it out. I've seen this technique incorporated in malls in which the hallways connecting the stores have open walls allowing airflow and views of valley hillsides and high rise condo units with a built in tree planter level with the floor greeting you as you enter the space. These types of buildings are in climates with small annual temperature fluctuations located in parts of South America and the south east Asia. In America, it seems more common than not to design with the intention of keeping nature out and aircon in. Due to its latitude in the northern hemisphere, most of the country experiences temperature fluctions throughout the year, with the notable exception of temperate areas of California. The houses featured on this channel are a nice introduction not only to fine interior design choices but also to a larger theme of incorporating nature within the build. The exposure the occupants have to nature must be calming and soothing. The designs are truly inspiring. Tangent: This request is probably out of the scope this channel. It would be interesting to see some of the new designs in Norway and Sweden. Their modern building revolution centered around utilizing their carefully managed sustainable forests is interesting. The country has focused on using timber as a primary building material. The buildings are quite unique, and their nationally managed techniques for ensuring forestry is nondestructive and sustainable is perhaps the best in the world. I am such a fan of your Terrace House designs, not only are they beautiful but work so well with the problems of space and the hot tropics. Thank you for inspiring me. I am planning to design one for my son.
Wonderful architecture . Beautiful black enhance the character of this house. Also, louver is a great idea for ventilation and privacy. The central courtyard is the highlight of this house. To reduce the heat using water body is really enthusiastic plan. staircase with mid landing is again added value of the house. Love to see in person this house
Absolutely stunning! 🥰 My favourite colours: black; white; concrete; wood and living greens! Doesn’t get better than that! Thank you for sharing! 🙏🏽😊🙏🏽
A super wonderful house for working from home and social distancing , there are many tree inside, the open space which is just like my dream house , OMG!! 🥰🥰 Wonderful design! 💓
Woah, If I'm not mistaken, this is the house that I saw in a book I bought last year. Thank you for doing this tour since I want to know more about the design.
We - in California- and everywhere, could learn so much from the recycling of materials, intentional use of space, cooling that does not require mechanical energy, interior ventilation, cooling water features....the list goes on and on....Thank you for presenting these ideas.
Alex, once again, a Big Big thumbs up to you n your team for this great video.... Again it is not about a RM10 million house, but an intermediate terraced house.... Bravo...
I love the concept. I wish can turn my house into something like this, at least partially according to my budget, since this need lots of cost as well. Kudos to the designer......
the standard of this video is truly amazing showing that the Malaysian has real talented in designing, building the wonderful house by using a very normal house from beginning. keep it up.. im proud becoz im msian.
I love the way the client enjoys every space of his house. Together with all other technical and esthetic details, the client is satisfied, then to me this means architecture is fulfilled. Thank you for inspiration.
Thank you for the kind words Ricky! Its a pleasure to see viewers share compliments of such! We will strive to keep producing better videos and contents! Cheers
i have the same theme on my living and dining room. I designed it to be a sleepy place with the principle of In Praise of Shadows, my floor is black with tatami inspired wooven matts, and all furnitures and lights are IKEA. a Small micro house with the same space area of a jungle inspired garden, tuck away and hidden from residential area. Two bedrooms are on the second floor with different color theme, one is dark Blue navy- my bedroom and the other room is Matcha room- for the guests with kids. Everyone was surprised that black is not that bad. Thanks for showing these lovely houses.
House of elegant workmanship. Sleek, clean & streamline interiors masked by the client’s bold and honest black facade. So much freedom of expression with a suspended spatial long stairs that doesn’t seem to end. Indeed the Architect must have kept his gang of Malaysian craftsman under his armpit.
I think ive watch this video almost evry single day, its rely inspiring to see and someone living every single day woooowww😍😍, so intelligent and also very creative to build js a wonderful living, wonder how it will be in rainy days,
thank you for the fruitful sharing, keep up the hard work Alex and by the way, it was an epic run at the last scene! thought from an interior designer :D
I pass-by the back side of this house very frequently to go to the park nearby, always curious how it looks inside! Thank you for the nice cover and tour of the house!
@@shekhar6267 I'm pretty sure it's just painted black. Lack marble sounds way to expensive to be sustainable for the whole exterior of the house. Might have to recomfirm with the designer but I'm confident he said painted.
@@aarontan6871 Thank you for replying. I will consult a architect because I don't know how suitable it would be in hot country like India where temperature are mostly above 35°C entire year considering Black colour absorbs heat. Also does the house looks regal even when you see it front of your eyes or is it one of those instagram houses.
@@shekhar6267 I would comment that, it's eye catching due to the context of the building with houses around using more lighter colours like yellow and white, but as the designer mention, you become more focus on the extra colours around it, ie the plants and the interior, the owner actually opens his louvers quite often. And you get to see the wood and mood lighting coming from the house. To say that it's just an Instagram house, is neither false nor true. It's a type of taste, I would say. In its way, it can be majestic for some. For me, it seemed more of a personal choice of the occupant more then anything.
Exceptionally beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Extraordinary! Outstanding! BLACK! Bold yet silently harmonizes exceptionally well with all its elements creating the perfect flow! Absolutely Stunning!
This was the first video that I saw from Design Seed but I still think this is the most beautiful house I have ever seen. It makes me want to have my house with a central garden too. I keep going back to it again ♥.
I will stay at home everyday if i had a house like this...
I agree! 👏👍
but then you'll have to go out and work all day to pay it off
