It’s funny how I rarely think about Bob Burnquist anymore, but he was so definitive in my childhood and young adult life when I was really into skating. Your channel has re-ignited that spark, and I’ve been teaching my 6yo how to skate. He’s a natural. Thanks for the great content man.
Never forget your roots.
❤😊
Bob is the goat
A soty
I remember when he did the loop gap. He couldn't get it so he was like " I'm gonna try it switch" and fucking nails it.
It's crazy that Bob Burnquist is not as famous as Tony Hawk because that guy is a freaking beast.
Personally I think Bob's a way better skater than Hawk and has done some heaps gnarlier tricks than Hawk and most of em regular and switch. He's so good ya can't even tell he's skatin switch half the time lol. But he's 10 years younger than Hawk and Hawk did it all first so Bob just never quite got to the same level of fame that Hawk did. 🤷♂
@@28russ considering that kids can do things now that adults couldnt dream of decades ago, doing things first is definitely worth something imo
its actually not crazy at all really.
Its because the Video Game was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, not Bob Burnquist's Pro Skater. Bob was the second most Famous of that era though.
I mean bro a lot of people don’t understand why The Beatles are the best selling artist of all time but they are. Yet I don’t think they’re the best band by any stretch
That first failed attempt by Bob Burnquist is terrifying and I can't believe he made quick decisions to save his life on that one....
In an immediately adjacent parallel universe, that was a tragic accident.
i was the guy that took him to the house that day in a lawn mower trailer. worked at his house for 15 years every day he was amazing
imagine if bob grabbed his board after grinding and landed on it at the bottom of the grand canyon
Was pretty much going to say the same thing. Not to say it wasn't impressive, because it definitely was, but to be top of the list and cemented more as a skating trick rather then a base jumping one that would have been the cherry on top.
Extra credit to Bob Burnquist because he done the loop without the top switch too. Guys an absolute legend.
What!? Holy crap man lol
Bob Burnquist is an absolute mad lad
Absolutely love this video! 10/10 would love to see more of these!
"if he misses the rails he dies" *misses rail* "he wasnt hurt"
Just made a coffee and rolled one..... perfect timing 😊
Love this series and the channel! Keep it up, seen your skating too, trying an keep shreding man🙂
Hey man haven’t been on ur account in a while after u said you weren’t posting no more, glad to see you back ❤
The name of this channel is the best.
‘Skate or die’ is the most pure and epic slogan from since skateboarding began.
Skate and Destroy
I remember seeing the water tower Ollie and thinking that the trick was nuts same as the leap of faith remember watching some guy breaking both ankles doing it . Hats of to all sk8erz who push the limits and keep it real , Bob is my favourite sk8er by a country mile especially him describing how playing Tony hawk helped create the samba flip , the guy is an innovating genius with balls the size of Jupiter.
I totally just watched this for Jamie Thomas's leap of faith.
Such dedication for one insane trick!
Such an awesome STUNTS..
NICE ONE BUDDY ...
I came here to say how much I love Bob and its awesome to see all the comments showing him love. He was always my favorite
Yo love the content I am just getting back into skating after a 10 year break but it's kinda crazy how muscle memory comes back
This is so true
I love this style of video, man. I can tell you're passionate about the subject. The history aspect of skating is really rich and interesting. I'm sure it takes a ton of research to make one of these, I just want to say that we really appreciate your hard work.
Thanks a ton and all the best.
Skate or Die 🤟
Glad I got back into skating around the same Time you started posting
I think you nailed it Seen most of them when they aired THANKS
Dude I love your content! Keep it up
You should have included my mate Chaz. This one time, Chaz and a bunch of us went to the Craggy, it's a local spot with like crusty tarmac and some gnarly holes. It's like a hill bomb but with slappy curbs all the way down. This guy called Tim Cragg tried doing 10 slappy grinds all the way down without stopping. He was on his 8th slappy and as he came off the curb he went head first into a bus coming up the hill. Died instantly. R.I.P Craggy! Any hoo, that's where the spot name comes from. Chaz wanted to honour Craggy by doing the run Craggy tried but wanted a launch ramp at the end so he could fly over the cars at the bottom as they went across the road. We all got hyped and did a pack of caffeine pills and Red Bull to get us in the mood. Chaz flew down the Craggy hitting both sides with 10 slappies then hit the launch ramp with so much speed he cleared the cross road at the bottom and carried on hill bombing the other side. We all blew up it was the most insane thing. Wish we had filmed it would have put Chaz in the hall of fame and put the Craggy on the map. True story.
What the f? That sounds insane
Wish there was footage so bad! Great story tho and I believe ya bro, why not? thx 4 share
Cool story bro
You from Oz?
Sounds legit
My man.
Thank you ever so dearly for the bit at 03:20
Awesome vid thank you
Glad to see you back bro
Great job on video content and choices!!
The death rail is seriously nuts. Dane is so lucky he walked away from that. The bottom of the rail, where it turns 90 degrees for the landing, would have scared the shit out of me. If you bonk that, you ded.
bob burnquist literally fell into the grand canyon and your talking about a trick that he stacked 20+ times off that rail and walked away from
Can you imagine how Bob felt, landing the grand canyon?
Imagine landing that huge death defying trick you been dreaming about, times (100)!
Great vid bro !!!
Bob riding a helicopter that high up has to be the craziest thing on here. The way up is so scary since the parachute won't open if you're not high enough. Insane
Keep this kind of videos going there will always be these
Yoooo love this bro
That was so awesome!
Love this dude
Sick upload great clips in it too
Great video. I had never seen that Dane Burman one.
Burnquist had the greatest ramp construction mind and ideas.
Love your videos man! Great comps and commentary! Is the clip of the kid with speed wobbles still on CZcams?
Watching you guys skate makes me think of damn I wish I had a ps2 and Tony hawk's pro skater 3. You guys are fcukn awesome thanx for years of keeping us wowed. Whoop whoop mmfwcl
I just downloaded it on my Mac as an emulator on the game cube I have a Xbox controller and it feels the same as ps2.. thps3 is probably my favorite it seems like the last one that was made for skaters and not for the general public
I think Danny Way was really the first who started change Vert Skating into Huge New Stunts. But already back in the old PlanB videos Danny just destroyed Vert Skating like it would be a played through video game. Big Respect to Danny Way for his Street, Vert and Big Air stuff.
Burnquist is the GOAT of big moves
Mad skills and just plain
MAD as insane ! 😂
water tower ollie and especially the grind had me geekin
Good videos bro well done
Sick one!
Do a part three for the honorable
Mentions !!!!! The 900 still gives me goosebumps..😊
And gui doing the 1080 at x games with tony competing again
I was watching that and yelled when he landed it and woke my dad up. He came out of his room and said wtf? I said he landed a 900 all excited. He just simply said oh ok. Then went back to his room. Lol.
I don't think people realize how dangerous and hard parachuting is. You have to take a class for it and anything could go wrong. That last trick was insane.
Bob is definately one of the best skaters and overall a talanted, crazy and smart guy. Someone to look up to.
The Ryan Scheckler Costco Gap deserves to be on this list imo.
That was one of the most enjoyable movie's I have ever watched on CZcams.
Amazing video happy Monday guys hope you all have a good day
that was pretty awesome
Bob burquinst is a beast. One of the bests
the sideways loop was the first thing to inspire me to skate.
...said no one until now
The honorable mention bob part was a great time in skateboarding. That video gets over looked by so many. It was insane at the time and still to this day
The fact that Bob got two chances to do this is insane. That was the definition of go big or go home. What should have been a one shot take he got to do twice.
love seeing someone like Bob, who is half brazilian, making history out there, make me proud of being brazilian
I'm proud of your other half too
Great choices the Lyon 25 is wild and death
Unreal fair play! And theres me pooping my pants learning how to drop into a 3ft 1/4 pipe 😂
Sweet video
Bro is back!!
If you’re gonna use bro like that stfu never talk again
@@Dginny865 Bro is angry
I looked up the Tony Hawk slam. It is insane. I had no idea!
the balls that these guys have is crazy
Bob is nuts!
what are the odds yesterday I got my skate out of the dusty corner they were stored at and went to the skatepark and now this new video thanks great
ur back
Gosh that first trick is so insane
Bob burnquist was always my favorite.
Irado
Muito obrigado
Special mention: Bob's entire X-Games 2001 run.
Portland has some of the best places to skate. I don't skate but used to go watch all the time.
Dude Burnquist is such a badass
I love it.
Good to see another video...I'm guessing you had to edit the hell out of this because CZcams tried to demonetize it because some chick showed some ankle or some shit.
I got to skate with Don, aka The Nuge, from around 13 til 17 or so. I met him through a mutual friend. The very 1st time I ever met him me and the mutual friend were skating behind this old theater called Almonte. There was this little dock we'd do tricks off. Some stuff to grind. Smaller stuff. But we were still working our way up. So we're trying new tricks and what not. And this tiny dude just pops up. Dressed kinda preppy. We get introduced. And man...even back then every trick he did was BIG. Just his flat ground kickflips were always so clean and tucked. And high. He's who taught me how to get my kick flips up high. And I never knew anyone who landed more fuckin tricks 1st try like him. He was and still is a cool dude.
Can you do a video on how to get back in to skating because I kinda just forgot about it and know I don't know we're to hop back in
Not gonna lie. I’m so old I was expecting a gnarly Sheckler kickflip to be on here
heli day at bobs house was amazing. i worked there an lived there for 15 years every day was epic
Pure legends
Oh, boy, I sure hope CZcams doesn't demonize this video...
Why would you say that ?
Demonetize but same deal really.
@@Mr.paint123 Channel owner said it's been happening to a lot of his videos, recently said that a video he was trying to upload kept getting hit.
@@charliericker274 Ice cold
This is a demonocracy
Bob is the man! Homie is a maniac…
Rodney mullen was always my fave.
Remember those videos from Tony hawks that explained the history of skateboarding awh man ima have to get those games again.
yeah he is a legend for sure
I was there when Jay Adams 360d a huge pipe outside of Venice.Unreal.
Bring back memories Rodney Mullen I remember him I got his Bored as soon as he cam out with one at NORTHWEST SNOW BORDS IN WASHINGTON STATE. SMITH CLOVES. THANKS FOR THE TO THIS VIDEO THANKS MAN FOR THE MEMORIES MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO Rodney Mullen. Thanks for my memories brother
Gnarly how many places I recognise from thps. Death rail, el toro, 25 set. I nearly pressed start after tony does the full ring/exactly the bullring level haha
03:21 oh my gawd you are PREACHING homie you are straight up preaching and this is just an amazing metaphor that is maybe cynical and slightly hyperbole with the intent to be funny but it holds so so much truth I am just appreciating a fton out of this fr fr ngl 💯😤
the boomer humor made me think this video was like 20 years old, but nah, he went and did those terrible jokes in the year of our lord 2023
Wait ur back!
What is the music when josh kalis is speaking ? During the municipal death rail part. Thanks !!!!!! 😅
leap of faith .
the chief .
forever greatest prolly
Oh my god I can't believe it. What a trick.
Bobby B-Quist deserves every penny he’s ever earned.
i remember when skate boards were becoming popular back in the late fifties . i lived in the pasadena hills . the young boys were mostly into high speed runs down the sidewalks right next to parked cars .one kid was crouched down with his arms stretched out for balance and caught his hand on a rear bumber that nearly tore his arm off . i wasn't there but those that were painted a gruesome picture which scared the crap out of me .
Awesome 👏 thanks for the @J_Shane_Art mention. I can’t believe that clip just keeps making it around. I think I should upload the HD clip to my channel.
The first trick is insane two story over the guy on the phone walking
Bob burnquist is way underrated!!!
That was amazing!!!! I can’t believe most of these I never heard of. I love skate videos but not a skater . So I know Tony hawk and “Scary “ Perry Caravello!
My knees hurt just watching this
Yayyyy it uploaded!
I think Nuge going down that steep ass street is pretty underrated... i like how he powerslid down the beginning a few times to limit his overall speed. Genius!
Pedro delfino went down the same street switch. You should check it out
Hey man, even if this does get demonized I hope you still keep at it man. And personally your the best “skatetuber”
"demonized"
@Hairy Larry ???
Bob Burnquist is a legend
