How much did you get done by the end of the first week? I believe that if you sacrifice one engineer with overnight shifts before feeding them would make everything in this tutorial possible in 5 days!
I never voluntarily kill anyone off with Emergency Shift. It did happen by misclick, once, so I ran with it, and I can see the strategic appeal. The only scripted death I accept in any scenario is the "Wise, Old Man" event when you build a House of Healing, and that doesn't count, as far as I'm concerned. Natural causes, and all that. =^[.]^=
The Automaton Project is, in most circumstances, a waste of a Steam Core. The only way it's worth it, especially when Steam Cores are in short supply, is if you intend to run a LOT of Automatons. Otherwise, the 5% Efficiency boost is nice if you cancel the project, but a coupla iffy techs really isn't worth it. By the way, if you research Automatons and all the Integration Techs *before* ever building an Automaton, then the project will raise your Automatons' efficiency from 90% to 100%. Not the way to go in the Arks scenario, but an interesting option. =^[.]^=
I'll have to check again since I put these up before the latest patch! If it fundamentally changes the strategy I've pointed out here, it's time to update!
@@PhatBeetzGaming Actually, they did show up after discovering some other places first. I think the Arks is my favorite so far. I just totally failed The Fall of Winterhome. Twice. O.o
@@orangepoppy Then I think you're in the right track! FoW is brutal. I hope my guide can help you! If not, there are plenty of others who might have more guidance!
@@PhatBeetzGaming I like to fumble about on my own then scramble about for a guide - will definitely check out your guide for The Last Autumn, which is the one I'm struggling with now. :D I think I went into it too relaxed because everything was so green and nice. Then the workers went on strike and it snowballed out of control.
@@orangepoppy I'm on hiatus before starting my TLA series (apologies). I figured the vanilla set that took me years to make would give me a bit of breathing room... But yes, you need tough love on day 1. I've already recorded the series so I've just got to put them together. You already know this, but get the resource collection and research going ASAP on day 1. You'll have to let a few people be homeless for a day or two. Food is a huge problem initially as well (get the first group out to the hunt or fish by day 4 give or take). Hope you like the challenges in those last two!

DId they get rid of some of the scouting locations? I don't have any showing after the first ten and the names are different from yours.
Sorry I missed your comment here!
@@PhatBeetzGaming No worries! I didn't think the first one posted, so redid it. Feel free to delete :D
