Yeah, there are a few things in the game that just aren't covered or pointed out with any real utility...if you micro well, there are some interesting things you can do with the people! I just want to make sure they don't die on me by accident!
How did you not know that that is like a basic game mechanic removing people from jobs and adding them. It will always add the non sick people first so if you have extra people not assigned you can remove the sick people then re-add people and it will add the non sick ones
@@paulpesci1 I was jsut surprised to see that like it’s irrelevant when it was since at some point you didn’t know it I wasn’t being a dick I was just confused how you could play the game for even 5 minutes and not realize that as adding and removing workers is one of the core mechanics of the game
Late to the party but wanted to thank you for this clear and awesome video. Pacing, help animations, all perfectly placed ans calm. Easy to follow information, can't wait to try this one out later :)
I'm glad this helps you! That was the whole point of putting in the time for these videos. Regardless of the difficulty setting, it can get really hectic at times!
Hey, thank you very much for the tutorial! Even tho I have something around 70 hours in the game, and I finished most of the scenarios on hard, I always struggled with this one and I have never fulled the Dreadnought. This begging will help me for sure, thanks!
I've logged almost 300 hours on this game, and it isn't close to some other channels (like in the thousands)! It took me lots of attempts to get this run. I just want to share what worked for me and hope that it helps people who want to enjoy the journey but don't have time to grind it out! My hat's off to you! The fact that you've completed this game on hard for most of these scenarios is more than I can say! I tried extreme for the main scenario and made it to the day before it ended before it all went to pot! Someday, I hope to actually complete all of them on extreme as the strategies there are different when every second counts! I hope you're getting what you need from this series! I'm working on the last few uploads and will be posting them steadily.
I find that even following the steps exactly the night results in an additional 20 or so sick, the health system is enought to balance it but not eliminate the issue.
I haven’t played this scenario yet just started and since it’s so different from the others I figured I’d look up a guide. I have played every other scenario on normal difficulty and it’s jsut been too damn easy I finished every one with no discontent and max hope and fill every space in city with large resource depots for all the excess stuff I have. So I figured I’d try this one on hard And I know you’re doing it on normal so it may be different. But my first thoughts are that the goal is not saving people it’s to get hope and discontent down. And you have soooo many citizens I don’t understand why you prioritize med and healing so much since if people die that’s less responsibility and it’s easier to manage a smaller group and as people get sick you can just replace them with healthy people until you get to the point where you are stable and have a positive flow of every resource and positive hope growth and discontent drain and then focus on healing the people who are left. Idk though I could be wrong I’ve never really had people die in other scenarios so not sure how that impacts hope and discontent but I feel like there are laws to minimize that rather than laws to speed up healing it just seems letting your people die off if you can get it where it doesn’t hit your hope or discontent too hard would be ideal But I’m going to try it your way and see what happens. I just have a feeling I’m going to get my ass kicked.
i really like frostpunk but my only issue (except for how hard last autumn is) is that you cant replace laws, i wouldve liked to replace child labor with child shelters and go for the medical boost perk you can get after that
Yeah, flexibility here would be an interesting approach, but it might have made it a little easier as well! I wonder what the next game will feature...
I just failed this scenario (😭) so was looking up some tips and I'm wondering why you're putting people on coal immediately? Of course this is a year old, so you might not even remember lol. But when I was doing it the coal shipments coming in seemed like more than enough. Getting people to gather it as well just meant I needed more storage.
I still don't understand the generator's range settings, i only see it as a waste of coal, as sometimes the hubs can heat w/o using the working zones heaters (sometimes they can become redundant), so, could you explain, please? Thanks in advance! EDIT: The wikia does not help me with that, it's even more confusing ^^!
I'll look into making a video about this! The thing with hubs is that they don't stack when they overlap. Working zones go from 1 dwelling up to 4 dwellings away from the generator. Using overdrive as a means to prevent heat zones from flip flopping is a strategy I like to use but it does use a lot of coal!
Did not know you could remove sick people from workplaces... Nice one 👍🏻😊

Of course I know you can MOVE people 🙄
It's because obviously... It's another layer of detail to actually micro remove SICK people.

How did I not know something a year ago? Inorite? 🙄

Best walkthrough I have seen. Thank you! Cant wait for more parta
Seconded
Thanks! This one is the first of the more challenging trilogy of scenarios in this game!
@@PhatBeetzGaming i just played using your stratagy. Great start but the ending was the hardest. Got to remember to focusnon food and steel.
Nice! And yes, food steel are the toughest resources to gather! I'll be sharing how I set these up for the next few uploads!
Im thankfull for ur expertise i tried on my first run and was out by day 4

Thanks! Working on the general guide for this scenario!
How do you select the medposts so fast? I always look one by one and select with the mouse, you use a hotkey? Help please 😅

Its probably to swap the outpost team to food

hmm i got 35 amputees in 1 hour of day 1 work start. 81 people killed when i turned on generator
Yeah, that's the scary part...housing and saving everyone the first day is very stressful.
gave up on this one
This is a tough scenario! I failed numerous times on normal mode before getting even halfway!
