    Thanks very much! A couple of suggestions to make it even easier. 1. Open the fob at the bottom with a coin not the other key. 2. Push the pin back in with a pair of pliers not a hammer.

    Many thanks, this was brilliant, very clear. Didn't know how to remove the blade. To open the case I used the end of a teaspoon (with a square end) or a screwdriver of the right size. Used long nosed pliers to hold the pin while locating it. Tapped in with small hammer. Hint make sure you are on a clear table with a clean floor. Dropping the pin almost inevitable.

    instead of a nail I used a thin screwdriver and hammered it trhough with the backside of a bigger screwdriver😂
    and I used a set of pliers to keep the pin in check when re-instering it..again hammering it with the bigger screwdriver.

    This wasn't too hard, I did it with a 10 year old key and pulling the blade away after removing the pin was the hardest bit. Years of damp and grime made it quite hard too pull, I made a lever out of a ring spanner and a rod through the other end and eased it out levering back and forth in 2 directions.
    I happened to have a cheap watchmakers tool for removing links lying around following a previous DIY job. It worked a treat as a rod for hammering through the pins. Thank you

  • @savedfaves
    @savedfaves Před 2 lety +1

    Be great if the getting the pin out wasn't edited and we could see in real time. A better procedure might be to move the mother board and battery over to the new key and then bring both keys to the locksmith and ask him to cut the new key. This way the pin stays from the factory.

      @Servicetutorials  Před rokem

      Hi! It is a problem with these new aftermarket Peugeot key fob cases. So, after you installed all the parts from the old key fob, you have to bend that small plate that has direct contact with battery to make it work. When you install those two parts from the key fob back, that small plate near the battery is not making contact with the battery.

    • @Servicetutorials
      @Servicetutorials  Před rokem

      Or you have to synchronise the key.

    • @savedfaves
      @savedfaves Před 2 lety

      I don't believe the pin is supposed to be removed. Otherwise the replacement key wouldn't come from the factory with pin inserted. Procedure is supposed to be: buy new blank key. Open both keys using a coin. Move motherboard from old key to new key (that's why it's not glued in). Close both keys. Bring keys to locksmith and have locksmith key the new key in the shape of old key.
