Thanks short simple accurate and to the point well done.
Note if yours is crumbling have a good set of multi- vise grips or stilsons/ pipe wrench on hand. My 308 was brittle so knob head tore of completely , had to use grips to remove. Insert also stayed on shaft.

I got 207 but gear knob is same I think but problem is that it's falling off after a while it happens while driving especially when putting in reverse that knob end up in my hand. Don't know should I glue it or what.

Theoretically you can do this but you need sensors, cables, computer for parking and everything becomes very expensive. I was able to install the new one on the old yellow plastic but while the plastic stays on the metal I can easily pull off the knob from the yellow thing did i do something wrong?
Follow the guide lines on the yellow plastic and place the gear shifter head following those lines, then press with force and, if necessary, turn the shifter to the correct position.
how to do when you only have the new knob, but not the leather "dress". How do you attach new knob to the old "dress" ?
Hello. It is very simple. Take out the gear knob as you see in my video, cut the plastic necklace that holds lether on the knob and then put the new lether and catch it with a new plastic necklace. See how to cut in my cideo at the minute 1:20
Adrian is there a reason why you removed the Android head unit? I'm wondering cause I'm questioning the longevity of the device, would be great to get an answer, because I dont want to waste 350$ on something that potentially breaks in a few months or less :(

The leather is gripped to knob with a plastic collar, cannot remove it without dismantling the frame on which the leather is fastened.

Great video. What a stupid design by Peugeot. They couldn't have made it more complicated if they'd tried.
This is worst idea, you should cut the old knob from gear liver and replace with new one or else that plastic will get damaged for sure especially for old vehicles
