  • Finding vibration issues on your equipment can be difficult. Vibration, noise, bearing issues, bad gears, failing turbochargers or pumps. We can find all kinds of problems, diagnose them and ensure that we are tearing down the proper component. So, I bought the cheapest vibration meter on Amazon to how well I would work. A cheap vibration meter or accelerometer may be the best money spent for monitoring or diagnosing you home shop equipment. I cam e away very impressed with this tool . How to use a a vibration meter is very easy. An accelerometer can really speed up your checks.

Hi Don , thanks for showing this item. I was not aware of it but I can imagine how important it could be. The sooner you troubleshoot a problem the better usually. A bit of a learning curve to using it I'm thinking.

Hay Dale, They are pretty easy to learn how to use. There are actually a couple of pretty decent corporate type training videos on youtube on how to use them. That's why I didn't get in depth on that aspect in my video. But once you get it and a little practice, WOW, its like night and day doing diagnostic work. I also like being able to track my machines condition over a time frame to ensure I don't have any issues creeping up on me. Pre-emptive strike MX. Glad you like s it. Don

I wish those were around back when I was an auto mechanic. Beats the heck out of a screwdriver against the ear. I learned a long time ago that vibration noises are tricky ... they will travel. More often than I care to think about, I'd think the cause was one place and then find it was something else entirely. Anybody with a shop filled with old tools or looking to get a better cut/finish will get a lot of use out of this.

Absolutely. I really like being able to know for sure at which point the problem is stemming from. Don

Yes absolutely. You'll need to check at each bearing though.
