  • More and more schoolchildren in Sweden are dealing drugs and pulling triggers before they're even teenagers. The surge in violence involving children has another alarming trend - that the young people are seeking out the gangs and not the other way around. That's what has compelled these men to offer us a glimpse into their world, saying they want to steer young people away from it.

I'm from an European country and don't see any problems with asian immigrants such as Chinese and Indians mixing and working hard in society but it always seems to be a subset that follow a specific culture/religion that always expect more from host countries whilst insisting on not working at all and with no desire to integrate but yet still want to be entitled whilst blaming everyone else for their own failure.

I traveled to Sweden in 2017 and was in awe at how perfect it was compared to the uk. It got to the point where I was actively looking for things that could be wrong with the place by travelling on the train and randomly getting off at a unknown stop looking for the bad part of town. But I was always pleasantly surprised to find another piece of pristine utopian society with not so much as a single piece of rubbish on the floor or homeless person on the street. I don’t question any of this has changed but to think guns, gangs, and child shootings can exist with this kind of backdrop is quite bizarre.

that part is the same as an in 2017!!! for the most part this is all about 2nd gen immigrants taking bad decisions.
a Gangster identity developed through music and social media in second generation immigrant circles and children are fed this through tiktok and other social media from a very early age.
the police warn about 13-year-old children who are waiting in line with the gangs to do contract killings.
an occurred word is= 'brösta en fyra för att bli en hundragubbe'
      and it means something like
this 'kill one and sit in a juvenile facility for four years' to be an 100% gangster'

This is what I believe is driving this trend among young immigrants today.
      get this first:
Swedish middle class is relatively quite rich compared to immigrants. own house/apartment, the children have the latest phone, nice clothes, a summer house, go on holiday and so on.
      'in the hoods'
everything Swedish is seen as bad. a bit like a negative cultural expression.
      The second generation immigrants
has developed an antisocial dominance behavior mixed with gang culture.
taking the path through education is not considered for them according to themselves. (and we are thus talking about a school system that is free for all).
if you put all this together, you get a real witch's brew.

It's a two way street... Each culture brings their own values and symbols...
If I come somewhere as a guest, I try to respect their culture (meaning not forcing my own symbols on them) or stay at home. It's the same with migrating to a different country.
Like it or not... Head scarf for women is just as much of a symbol than waving a cross around... Or a flag if not even a stronger symbol...
So it's hard to listen to "accepting in our society" talk while feeling the symbolism of their culture glowing out of them and not addressing that part.
In Slovenia, you can still see the pumping of children by their Serbian parents that "Serbia is the best" etc. While living here instead of back there... (you don't hear such things from the adults but 6 year olds tend to blabber such things and where they got those ideas far more liberally).
Not all of them are the same - possibly just a vocal minority - but the effect can still be seen as it starts spreading amongst the young ones ("funny" enough it spreads also to Sovenian children who then wave the banner even more... as if they are more Serb than the Serbs themself... Logic...).
It always makes me wonder if such parts are intentionally omitted in such reports (to lessen the "purring fuel on the fire" and with that lowering the credibility) or is this type of "showing symbols and attitude" less prominent than what I'm used to.

The Triads, also known as the 14K, are a criminal organisation based in the Chinatown area of London. The Triads are a gang that was originally formed in China, as far back as the 1760s. The term Triad is used to describe many branches of Chinese criminal organisations based in counties such as: China, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Taiwan. In modern days they are now also in countries with significant Chinese populations, such as the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. The Chinese triads are one of the world's largest criminal organisations, with a steady membership of around 1.5 million in mainland China alone and 2.5 million members worldwide, which explains why they are the most powerful gang in The Getaway.

These organizations have secretly operated for decades, and are notoriously powerful.
In the United States, the term "Greek mafia" may include or refer specifically to various Greek American organized crime groups. Notable ethnic Greek or Greek American organized crime groups in the United States include the Philadelphia Greek Mob in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Velentzas crime family in New York City. Greek American crime groups vary in the extent of their connections to Greek mafia groups in Europe; some Greek-American crime groups may be only loosely connected or even completely independent of Greek mafia groups in Europe, while certain Greek-American crime groups may essentially be American extensions of Greek mafia groups in Europe.

I honestly think the issue was in housing. As in, while it would have been harder then, it would have been better to give the immigrants housing with locals and spread the immigrants out so that their neighbors would all be locals. This way, they wouldn't form ghettos since people tend to stick with what is familiar (which is normal) and they would sort of be forced to adapt or to see that the locals tend to be very hands off in general and that's just the culture (plus forced them to interact with the locals even if in a professional way).
That model helped Singapore a lot and prevent ethnic tensions.

Something that is not being talked about is the extreme housing crisis the country is facing. The housing crisis has led to an extreme segregation which allows these "parallell societies" to grow. The reason why those young men and women feel like they do not belong to the whole. They start life economically disadvantaged compared to people who have been a long time in the country and is therefore also condemned to living where no one else wants to live. The concentration to these spots leads to no mixing with the majority culture and therefore a feeling of disenfranchisement.
Growing inequality because of change in tax policies to lower tax and extremely low interest rates have made it possible for some to get way ahead economically. Great for them but not so great for everyone left behind which also makes positive change a difficult conflict because of course those who have gained do not want to let up. My country is facing difficult times and an identity crisis of sorts.

It's not necessarily racism, although a certain fatigue is definitely setting in.
Scandinavians tend to put privacy at the very top of their list of priority ~ so trying to force your own values on someone else, is considered invasive and therefore deeply offensive. Which often also leads to Scandinavians not enforcing their own rules on foreigners, because "they need an extra chance to learn them first".
At the same time, Scandinavians are also keenly aware that for most of human history, they were the barbarians ~ so Scandinavians also tend to think of themselves as culturally unsophisticated, yet their modern post-WW2 cultures are extremely sophisticated when it comes to human psychology, democracy and society. Meaning Scandinavians tend to assume their cultures are easy to learn ~ when many aspects are extremely subtle, nuanced and understated.
Finally, that same self-image as culturally simple also leads to the assumption that Scandinavian culture is easy to read ~ meaning Scandinavians almost never explicitly communicate what the rules of society are, barely even when you have broken them.
You are simply just shut out.
Although the motivation is actually modesty, a lack of cultural ego and a deep respect for privacy ~ it creates a "game" where the rules are never communicated, punishment is metered out without consistency and nothing is ever explained.
Especially for more extroverted cultures, that tend to get in your face to get a reaction, this creates a never-ending spiral of confrontation -> punishment -> lack of explanation -> new attempt at confrontation.
The Swedes obviously have a right to be Swedish in Sweden, but it's hard to blame foreigners for not being able to figure out rules and participate constructively in society, when those rules are never explained ~ and sometimes not enforced until too late (over-lenience).
