I think there may possibly be a pretty clear reason why people are listening to these accusations. I think it has something to do with Whitney Cummings and the fact that she scrubbed callens appearances before all of this happened and from the story that she told. I think she and Brendan Shaub are still close and she is respected as a member of the comedy community and has been for quite some time. People in the industry know her and so her viewpoint would hold more water than that of the other LA times accusers. I'm guessing this plays a big part and all of this.

It's been interesting to see to what extent these comedians are actually beholden to sponsors. Bryan and Brendan love telling us how edgy and uncensored they are but just look how hard they hit the wall this year. What a mess.
They could easily have been making $50k in sponsors per episode. Which is why I'm doubting that Schaub will leave Kast media/showtime to work with Callen. Even if they become one of the highest funded accounts on patreon, they won't be making what they made in sponsors from a few episodes of the tfatk. Porlshis and clown shoes aren't going to buy themselves.
As they got more popular, their wealth grew and so did their expenditure. Brendan's cars & clothes and Bryan's divorce definitely don't support the idea that their podcast alone will finance their changed lives, although Bryan's divorce is certainly not a 'choice'. Lifestyle creep, look into it.

Rogan is doing the right thing. There's no reason for him to risk his career and throw himself into the conversation unless he has something up his sleeve that can make the whole thing go away. Otherwise, he'll only be kicking a hornet's nest and making things worse for both Callen and himself. Getting Rogan involved will only lend these stories that much more star power and make them that much more enticing for people to follow. Support your friends in private and don't fan the flames of the conversation.
