  • Today we bring out some of the Salt Creek Triple Threat 12ga 3" 2oz TSS 4s and put them to the test at 40 yards through the Remington 11-87 and a Patternmaster Black Mamba .690 choke. We definitely saw some pretty impressive results from this combo, so stick around and see how it performs!

That would also be a good turkey pattern

still think that this would be a killer turkey shell!

Yeah, it would definitely work, but you would be hitting them with almost buckshot type force

I appreciate your testing these , rather expensive shells for me,.,.,why not show a 60 and 80 yard pattern? don't have to provide lengthy explain

My shotgun range isn't really set up for those longer range shots. Maybe we will test them at those ranges at some point, but you would definitely run out of energy before you would run out of pattern performance based on what we've seen from the so far

Should not use deer and hogs as a test if you can't buy a rifle you should stay out of the woods. Like your target shooting but don't promote hunting big game with a shotgun. Ironman in Alabama 73s

Sorry Boss, we can’t hunt with rifles where I’m at. It’s all shotguns with buck shot. We can’t use slugs- shot only.
Glad you’re in a rifle only territory.

Ok, so clearly a few things need to be addressed here. First off, shotguns have been taking big game for hundreds of years and a slug or some buckshot is more than capable of ethically taking the animal. Second, I don't promote using anything that isn't ethical, and I even said that I would not use them for deer or hogs in this video. The hog template I used was simply for a reference point since I do not have something like a coyote template made. Third, these are not a typical lead number 4, they are a TSS pellet, which are significantly denser than lead and carries way more energy and penetration capability. These shells would hit like a buckshot shell would, not a turkey shell. Sure, a rifle is more than effective for big game, but a shotgun can ethically hunt just the same as a rifle can
