    Quick backstory: A very few small scale manufacturers actually replied to my e-mail and were glad to send me their catalog, and GO was one of those manufacturers who sent their catalog along with a signed letter.
    GO is one of the most humbled watch manufacturers of luxury timepieces. I will add a GO to my collection in the near future, and the Senator Chronograph Panorama Date might possibly be my grail watch. I really hope the company lives strong during these tough times, truly understated gem of an artisanal brand, I've read that their senator line actually has laser engraved cutouts on the dial where the black pigment is filled up to the level of the dial to get legible markings.

    GO can get expensive, and is a steal pre owned. But for what it is , it punches way above the subjective price ........and the Dytona . GO , always has a function or finish that makes them better than the other/some higher brands (even for their basic-ish models). They also use steel which makes their watches attainable-ish compared to top brands . And a small nugget, A.Lang (before re-launching the name) used to be under this brand and kept ties i think (the Odysseus uses GO design in their adjustable clasp). The Dytona is not an ICON it is just popular (it was not even one of the first wrist worn chronos) .

    The biggest problem with Glashutte Original/GUB is the existence of Lange. The execution might be different, but the base formula is the same as the Dato up down in this case or the Lange 1 in other cases. There will always be that lingering thinking of “I got this because I can’t afford the Lange” Otherwise, fantastic brand with fantastic quality.

    At the opening of the vid the 1st thing I heard was "complications". Rolex no longer manufactures complications time pieces and surely the Daytona isn't a complications watch. It's a basic certified Chrono without even date indication. One either loves it of hate it, it's just how it is. The Daytona, and since the vid compares it with this Glasutte, has a 100m WR with crewed crown/push pieces. Unless I've missed something, the said Glasutte should be a 30m WR which means just splash/rain protection. The size of the Glasutte at 42mm accommodates it's complications but also gives a sporty look. The rubber/silicon (?) strap serves the exact same purpose which begs the question, why if the watch can't be used in a swimming pool. The Latin numerals at 12/6 O'Clock positions give it a somewhat classic/dress tone (some Ulysse do that) which is a contradiction. Perhaps intentional....Not sure about it's price. Although some vids emphasize the Rolex (in general) rising prices and that is good thing (Rolex does need to slow down!) would be best to compare them with similar watches. Mechanism, build etc. Not the Glasutte or the vid humiliate the Daytona, perhaps a more subtle title would have been more appropriate and appealing. Edit: I do own few German brands and have the outmost respect for them. For the quality offered are certainly value for money. Still, I would see this vid in a different manner of it was compared to a Zenith, IWC etc, brands that manufacture chronos in steel and have sporty lines.

      @955klb Před 4 lety +1

      The GO is streets ahead of the Daytona, mine is accurate to less than a second gain per day and is not worn by every illicit pharmaceutical distributor on street corners. This is a quality timepiece and high horology , GO make 10k watches annually and do not pay millions in advertising paid for by the customer. Daytona is a quality watch but for me it says the wrong thing about the owner...

    • @955klb
      @955klb Před 4 lety +1

    • @mathewazzopard8100
      @mathewazzopard8100 Před 4 lety

      I've just confirmed, WR is at 10 bar which makes it suitable for swimming. Retail at less than 14k euro can be for less than 11k US $, new from the US. Might order one, like I said before it's a nice watch and the size suits me. The down side, to me that is, it only comes on strap and in case I'll want to sell it in a year or two what will be the loss. I'll have to consider these 2 issues and will not make a biased choice based on its relatively low price or the free advertisement here which consumers won't pay.

    it is surely a good watch, but I don't see any point that it "humiliates" the daytona. the dial, the hands finishing, the movement, the design, the size, nothing is superior to daytona. You can consider it better value for money, but 10 years later, who will buy back this GO with the same price you bought it. Don't get me wrong, it is a good watch, in some aspects it is even better than the daytona, but please, youtuber, don't bring Rolex or make unreasonable statement about it just to increase the view and clicks. Do some proper content, not just put the watch there, doing some nice photographs, videos then re-read the specifications and do some nasty comparisons.

      Like I said, Daytona and this GO are 2 different watches hence can't be compared. Complications and mostly dimension make them VERY different and of course country of origin. I've bought several German made watches and do appreciate their movements and materials used. Although I don't want to name brands, I feel compelled to mention 1, the Sinn U1. Additionally to the German brands there are some quite remarkable British as well. The Porsche Cayenne is a 4x4 so is the G 63 AMG with more off-road capabilities. The Cayenne has a better road hold....Can't choose 1 over the other....
