Dont do it, never change your DNS on any device, DNS is your domain name system, if you type in the wrong number that isn’t you own personal domain you can connect to hackers domains which is a fairly common thing that my IT friend has to deal with. People from the building he works at change their DNS all the time because a hacker found out about the work private messaging system and has been telling people there is a DNS error. They change it to the specified numbers and the whole system goes down. It sucks.
Honestly, I kind of love when this discovery came out. It reminds me of when you used to be able to do something similar on the original PSP. Granted, that was patched out like the very next update but still. It's what led to the first Homebrew browser from Tenchi no mon and then eventually to Sony officially coming out with a web browser in the 2.0 update.
Hope we get a real switch web browser soon, but this'll do for now :) Wish we had a cool interface like the Wii instead of going straight to google though, maybe a small website with a url bar to enter a certain website first? I think the reason why this works is because the switch technically needs a browser to be able to log into a Wi-Fi network that requires a login. SwitchBru created a DNS that utilizes this feature and exploits it to open the browser.
I remember the whole "Internet settings, Primary DNS, set to manual, then type" thing from the old days. It would always be in those videos where it claimed you could get all the Fortnite skins in the game by doing a few steps
