Thanks, though music was way too loud. Some people that watch these want to hear the engine noises in the applicable ones to try to figure out what went wrong so they don't repeat the same mistake.
WHO TOUGHT THAT THIS BACKGROUND MUSIC WAS A GOOD IDEA?
Some of these clips really make me wonder how the tires on the landing gear of these planes handle the pressure of hard landings. It's amazing yet scary as hell at the same time.
Planes have very harsh requirements due to past events like these. Due to those events it has saved lives. Still absolutely terrifying to think about
I agree, however I might be able to give you an example of the strength of these tires: Back in the mid-60s, my brother in law helped run his family’s orchards.
They bought a huge tractor drawn sprayer of a few thousand gallons I believe. It was very long and sufficiently narrow to fit down the rows of trees.
It came, brand new from the manufacturer, with used Army Air Corps surplus bomber tires from WWll. Lots of that cool stuff was floating around back in the day.
I was just a kid then, and was heavily involved in model building airplanes, etc. These tires were chest high to me, and it gave me a perspective of just how big a B-25,17,24,29 was back then.
Anyway, my brother in law told me that they needed almost no air in the tires to support the massive weight of this huge sprayer when filled with 15,000 lbs or so of spraying liquid.
Those were some badass tires!
Even crazier, the tires on a jetliner are typically inflated to 200+ pounds per square inch compared to 30-35 psi in your car. They are REALLY strong.
It's not the tires that receive the impact. On most, it's the suspension. And 95% the suspension.

Many of the crashes happened because of aircraft stalling due to downdrafts and a few times I noticed they didn't use the flaps when landing which resulted in loss of lift at slower landing speeds. They probably forgot them. And I noticed in the smaller aircraft the pilot applied the brakes way too hard resulting in a nose dive while still on the ground. But as the old saying goes any crash that you can walk away from.
He braked hard as to not run into the small cessna infront of him.

I witnessed the first crash with my own eyes, one of the pilots died on impact the other maneged to land his plane, flipped but survived.
It happened in italy close to my home town.
