It's not that it handles bad, it's just a Renault.
Just a little add on to the Volga story: in the USSR, a regular person could never buy a black Volga, as black Volgas were driven *exclusively* by government agents. So this story isn't spooky in the way that it can't be explained, but rather that seeing a black Volga next to your house or ominously driving down your street was never a good sign for a regular citizen.

A friend of mine owned a white Volga station wagon back in the late 70s (when he was still a citizen of the USSR). He showed me a photo, and he was sincerely proud of it. I thought it was ugly AF. He was a lower-level (non-KGB) government employee, but that is probably irrelevant.

Scariest car story: Accidentally locking you keys in your car at night
And its fuckin pouring snow outside at -20°.. been there done that. Just took out my shoe lace, did the self tying knot and jamed it between the door, put the loop on the door lock thingamajinga and bamm, pulled it up and unlocked the car.. after almost loosing my fingers to frostbite
My advice is to get into the habit of looking down at your hand before closing the door, to make sure you have the keys in your hand. If you did it every time, you'll train your brain to not close the door unless you can feel the keys in your hand. Yes, this works, and it will prevent you from ever closing the door without the keys. You will feel like something is missing. In my 15 years of driving, I've never locked my keys in my car.

Little thing to add to the James dean story, Rolf wütherich (who was with dean in his car when the accident happened), survived the crash, he wrote a story about the incident back in the 80s or 90s and when he wanted to get the story printed, he drove his vw into a wall and died also.

My car actually gave me a heart attack. I felt my heart stop and chest tighten while adjusting my clutch cable. Turns out when I set my right arm on the radiator coresupport....my left arm which was sitting next to the distributor shorted the ignition system through my chest. I felt my heart stop then restart. It was like the hand of God reached into my chest and grabbed my heart.
Edited because I want to mention that I to this day continue to drive this car.

Ah I was adjusting it while it was running due to it making a certain noise in neutral when the cable is out of adjustment. So you adjust it until it shifts into gear smoothly and doesn't make a funky hum in neutral.

My second scariest driving story was from back in High School, when I was way dumb AF... It was like a real life version of U-Turn in or Wrong Turn or whatever that Trucker/Horror movie was.
I was driving my Monte Carlo with some buddies with my not-so-bright brights on, because I had a headlight out. We were just stoned and got food from Taco Bell. I passed a Semi truck who was heading north of Wasilla, AK, and he flashed me with the brightest light I've ever seen on a vehicle. Over the cab of his truck, he had a massive LED light panel that was the size of a traditional Semi-truck wind deflector, and when he flashed me, we were all straight up blinded for like 30 seconds. I had to hit the ditch, spilled our drinks everywhere; it was a mess... Being a lil baked, and a rambunctious high schooler with my friends, once I got my sight back I flipped a bitch in the middle of the highway, and drove across the median after him... A few miles later, on the way out of town, we passed him blaring my horns. My buddy threw an entire Grilled Stuffed Burrito out of my sunroof and splattered it across the windshield of his truck, bad enough to where he was swerving trying to clean it off. So we all laughed like dumbasses, and I stepped on it, but after a mile or 2 at around 100mph, I realized he was still within a half mile of us, so we started freaking out...
That Monte probably topped out at around 120-ish, but that trucker was sooo pissed, it took me about 20 miles before I had enough of a lead to find somewhere to turn off that he wouldn't see. We all crapped our pants thinking we were gonna get shot.
If that truck driver is reading this, I'm very sorry, and please don't kill me!

Bruh I was driving to close to a white pick truck in hick area and in the middle of nowhere. Bruh he pulled over and just sat in his truck. I was behind him was freaking out with my girlfriend. I stated moveing up to pass him him accelerated and wouldn’t let me pass him as he was driving 20mph in a 55. I said fuck it and drove around his ass in my Chevy Malibu and speeded off. I swear I was gonna die by a hick that day.

the most spooky thing i've heard it was a call to 911 of a family on a Prius that started to go fast unintentionally and that crashed and killed that family, it was actually sad too.

Vauxhall Astra's come out of the factory like this. You should also always check your owners manual on page 36 section B Time Travel based anomalies if you experience any jumps in time.
I though Astras came from the factory with a can of spray glue and a sock in the glove box. Since it seems that 90% of Astra drivers are delinquent who abuse industrial solvents recreationally.
