About Bisexuals at 22:00. You would be surprised at how much bisexuals get lambasted in the LGB community back in the 90's and early 2000's. Most likely before then too, but the stories I know from myself, my friends, and others are all around that time. I have had gay men people straight up tell me I am a 'tourist' in homosexuality because I am bisexual. I have had multiple people throughout my life tell me bisexuality 'isn't a thing'. That I am gay/straight and don't know it yet. Bi-erasure is 100% a thing that has happened from the LGB and LGBTQ community that still continues on, albeit to a lesser degree. It was far less in volume than dealing with flippant homophobia, but it eviscerates places where you *should* be free to be who you are openly.
Yep, same here in the 90's', 00's, knew straight and gay people that were equally hatful in this regard. Never gets mentioned these days. But I feel the sentiment is still there today but not voiced.

I think the disconnect most gamers have with crunch is because it was a necessary evil at one point. In the early days of game development you hear stories of a group of friends making a game studio having fun working 16 hours a day to bring their creation to life. Its just a part of how games have always been made... Problem is this ain't the 90s anymore, this isn't a passion grind its corporate driven, people exploiting, CRUNCH.
Also, you couldn't patch a cartridge. Shit had to be ironclad before shipping the product. Nowadays the game gets a day 0 patch that's 75% the size of the entire title, it's absurd.
theres also devs mostly those in japan that see crunch as normal.

I know Richard gets to it, but Saints Row 3/4 had massively more flexible character customization than Cyberpunk and they didn't make a big deal of it at all.
For the budget and the promises of cyberpunk, only having 2 voices is so insane to me.

Mike Pondsmith is the man, so much more than just a writer, he created the cyberpunk rpg system, a system that honestly stands up there with D&D, Call of Cthulhu, VtM as one of the best RPG's ever made. Man's one of the greatest game designers working today.
I only started watching your videos a few months ago but have come to appreciate them. Love that you give credit where its due while also calling out the bullshit. If only everyone could do call it like it is wed be much better off. With that said as someone who never paid much attention to games reviews and news sites I am amazed at how shit it can be even beyond what I thought. Great video.

Discrimination in the LGBT community against bisexuals is very much still a thing. My girlfriend is bi, and she was constantly shamed and shunned until she just had enough and left the LGBT club
RAGE started out promising the world but ended up being little more than a tech demo. So many set-ups early on, no pay offs at all.

As a developer myself, I hate to see the crunch and early releases that aren't finished but this is a systemic problem with how things get published with licenses, deals and so on. If a publisher could be flexible, then these issues wouldn't happen but I don't see that happening anytime soon, as they must keep to their timeframe or else they'll be losing more money than they'd ever make from releasing the game. All the deadlines are a horror story for any developer because they almost never can be kept, especially when it's a massive project with multiple employees of various departments working together.

The CDPR trans advertisement is both literally transphobic, and inclusion at the same time. They're being welcomed into the pool of things companies are more then willing to sell. That's cyberpunk. Their inclusion is exactly that. Yes its bigoted, it's supposed to be, that's part of the point.
I did complete the game including all sidequests, there were bugs, driving physics are ridiculous, but overall I loved the game. Loved the story

Software developer crunch happens in so many industries. I'm not a game developer myself, but as a software developer, I've been a regular victim of crunch in my own industry, being given half the needed time to get things done, but management will promise others it'll be done regardless. It's actually quite manipulative. And the developer always seems to be the one blamed, regardless of how much overtime was worked.
I think something drastic has to change in the software development industry to tackle this, as it's not sustainable, and it's wreaking havoc on the well-being of developers in general. I'd estimate at least half of software development companies have this issue, based on my personal experience in the industry for over a decade.
Maybe it relates to the general public's idea of what programming is? I'm not sure. But I think both consumers and management fail to understand just how complex such work can be sometimes. Particularly when the scope of a project keeps changing intermittently because management can't make their bleddy minds up - welcome to absolute chaos.

Im still of the mind that it should have been delayed to 2022, i wanted it to be the best it can be.
i put 30 hours into it at launch and havent touched it since, once 2022 comes around ill play it properly and hopefully with everything they promised in the first place
I would also disagree with you on the whole "Reddit did nothing good for anyone ever" thing. Just like any other social media, there's bad shit going on and there's good shit going on. Personally reddit connects me with people who share the same hobbies, interests or even lifestyles in ways facebook and twitter just couldn't.
Yes, I've only watched a couple of minutes so far but it's so true. The "think pieces" and virtue signaling in the game media is ludicrous.
I specifically remember how bad Kingdom Come: Deliverance was depicted by the media. All that talk about Bohemia being multicultural and how medieval Europe was filled with blacks and whatever hysterical lie they could muster in text to further their agenda. Even though the game was a "simulator" and played out during a real historical event, with the cities being designed after the ruins left from that era the journalists still couldn't take the fact that the developer refused to re-write history/tried to be historically accurate.
And the Witcher was the same thing, but it tried to be realistic and gritty with the twist of European mythology/folk belief driving the story. To me the Witcher always was like the first seasons of Game of Thrones. A historical landscape with the gritty and horrible reality of medieval times, but it always had this lurking darkness of monsters and sorcery. And then we got the Witcher: Netflix Virtue Edition. Where half of the existing characters in the story changed ethnicity and the wizards walked among the people like they were common, they completely killed the immersion it felt like I were watching that horrible teenage series Shannara something. They changed the whole medieval feel to some kind of clumsy version of Lord of the Rings, and this is basically the wet dream of SJW media. History to them is nothing but a tool that's there to be re-written, unless it's about white people being racist. They completely kill off the immersion in anything they touch, those virtue signaling spineless beings.
This people could not have tolerated saints row 3. But it's kinda ironic that most of the enemies that one kills I'm cyberpunk, are indeed minorities or trans people (transhuman even) but it's fiction and a Dystopian one, it's meant to be bad

I haven't watched the video yet but I've just about completed the whole game and it was very bug-free. I had a couple of T-poses and 1 of the characters did something weird for a second in a cutscene. Obviously the main issue that everyone encounters is the AI walking around the city dissappearing and reappearing. I've noticed that the amount of bugs people experience is related to their hardware and graphics settings. When I turned settings all the way down everything went to shit. I was playing with 8gb ram and everything took too long to load driving around, I upgraded to 16gb and suddenly there are cars and AI everywhere I go like it's supposed to be. The content is lacking quite a bit, there are so many doors and shops you should be able to walk in but you can't. I hope they will bring in a huge update with all the missing features but I doubt it will ever happen.
My experience with Cyberpunk was the following (PC, medium-high specs): I chose the outlaw-lifepath, start in the garage, all good. But then, as I drive out the garage (with no control of the car yet!) there is a woman in an invisible car right in front of me, I crash into her and everybody in that fucking village start shooting at me, while I don't have a gun yet... then I drive away, to the cell tower, climb it, do the quest but then get teleported off it and fall to my death :DD
I have not watched the video either yet but I completed the game on PC and my hardware is no were near the top (well it was but 5 to 7 years ago, it's been a while since my last upgrade).
I did not play it right at launch, i bought it on steam like 2/3 weeks after it came out, so they might have patched some of the most egregious bugs out before i played it but honestly i did not encounter many bugs, certainly not gamebreakin ones (although i had to google how to proceed once because there was a prompt on a braindance missing in the human farmer creepy cow quest).
I've watched some videos with absurd bugs and idk if it's a console problem but i've never encountered any of them.
The game main problem honestly is that it had too much hype, the game is not bad but certainly not a masterpiece, especially if compared with Red Dead 2 but there are far worse games out at the same price.
But from what I got it was unplayable on consoles so there is that.
@@StGeorgedragonhunter yes, it should never have been released on consoles, that's for sure. They should've delayed it for another 6 months - 1 year. What I've learnt from new games is that you should always wait a few weeks for initial patches because there's always going to be issues on release which will get patched quickly when everyone starts complaining. It's clearly missing a lot of features, but since I never watched any of the teasers or showcases I didn't have any idea about these missing features, other than the train stations that I found in game.

I respectfully disagree with lots of your opinions in the first half of your video, but I can't say I'm not "disappointed" but I also know you are genuine and intelligent and definetly are not screecher. In fact I like to hear your opinion even tho I disagree cause that's how people learn, listening to opposing opinions that are well intellectually structured. It can also lead to strengthening your(my) own view on a thing, it can obviously make you rethink.

Works fine is pretty far from what was promised being delivered. It worked fine on launch for me, and I have a processor that's 8 years old. That doesn't excuse the myriad of shortcuts, missing features and lacking content. Many early access games that are years from being done are more finished than this title.

@@reymjard5494 The moment Cali PR was involved, my preorder was cancelled. I watched the milk boil over from a well hardened position. When all the bright yellow merch dropped on all available channels, with no game in sight, my heart still managed to sink to the darkest depths.
I had a great time with the game, bugs and glitches and all included. I enjoyed random rolls on legendaries. Patching that out I consider to be a big mistake.
'You can't even select your pronouns...' But you can, though, right? When the game allows you to select your gender. If you want to be visually represented with a male character, but be referenced in the game as a female character that just seems like an obtuse thing to even require. Not to mention it is narratively incoherent to have characters respond to you in contradiction to how you actually appear throughout the story. Games like these already allow people to be whichever gender they want - and that ought to be enough. I don't see a rush of people upset that they can't be represented with a much older character, or a much younger character, or a much more overweight character, to better represent themselves. I agree they never should have promised such things, but then they should never have been in an environment where they could be pilloried for neglecting such a petulant, entitled, and self-obsessed need. Regardless of your lived gender, you get to represent yourself in game as a hot guy or a hot girl, and accordingly be treated in the game as a hot guy or a hot girl. It's such a modern age thing for people to still be dissatisfied with that.

Without being transphobic please consider the inverse, what if you, I assume a cisgendered person, were forcibly referred to by the wrong gendered pronouns. Would you not find it insulting at worst, inaccurate at best?
Hopefully that explains why people want the feature to choose their gender pronouns. Unless you believe gender and sex are the same thing in which case, you have a lot to learn which is OK.
@@nightfire_CSGO I expect to be addressed in accordance with the information available to the person addressing me - which in this case would be primarily driven by my outward appearance. I look male, I am addressed as male; I look female, I am addressed as female. What I would never expect of a stranger would be for them to address me in contradiction to what information they have, which would be a more correct use of the word 'inaccurate'. The 'basic' feature you are talking about necessarily breaks narrative coherency to have it simply understood in-game that the words to describe you do not line up with your actual physical description. Like a white character being addressed instantly as a black character, or a young character being addressed as an old character, etc.
You're welcome to distinguish sex and gender -'gender' in the way you are using it can essentially mean whatever you like with regards to personal identity. Regardless, the outward appearance of your sex informs the pronouns that people reach for when addressing you for the first time. To implement this game feature more truly, more coherently, would be for the player character to explain to characters that they identify differently, and then for those characters to adjust their pronouns afterwards. That's a bigger ask, but if it were done I would have no issue with it being there. But this 'basic' feature you describe is just a strangely indulgent niche to demand, which necessarily hurts the narrative in game.
Again, whatever gender you identify as you can assume right at the start of the game. In making that choice you select your pronouns, and your lived experience of the game. In doing so you get a more faithful transition to which ever gender you want to play as. Sure, I suspect you would like to select your sex, and then select your 'gender', but let's not pretend that is a simple sentence to unpack, or that it sets a reasonable expectation. To be honest, I think that's an absurd sentence, but regardless, one of those concepts heavily, necessarily informs the other, and it's okay for the game to use that more dominant concept to allow players to customize their character. None of this is unreasonable.
