  • As the title says. This is the first time I took apart a carburetor and cleaned it. The motor is a 2006 Honda 2 hp four stroke outboard motor. It not really a how-to video, I just want to show off how I took the carburetor off and cleaned it, and how I got the engine to run properly.

    Likely not a 2006. Every person I've met so far who thinks their Honda 2 horse 4 stroke is a "2006" bases that off of the cowling sticker thats says "2006 epa rated" or something to that effect. People just see that "2006" and just go with that as the year of manufacture. You need the cereal number to tell the actual year. NOT the "2006" sticker on the back of the cowling.

    • @JacobAAllen
      @JacobAAllen  Před měsícem

      They're a tiny screw you adjust on the throttle cable. I tested it out a bunch and asked a master mechanic I know where it should be at.

    I have a 1998 Honda 2 hp engine, I am looking for directions to replace the impeller. I have removed the lower unit but am at a point where I can not remove the shaft from the lower gear housing..any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Nice job Jacob. Mine is running terrible for the first time in over 10 years. It runs only with choke on. I'm going to use it until I get back cause I don't want it to break. Any thoughts on my engine?

    • @JacobAAllen
      @JacobAAllen  Před 3 lety

      I’m no Engine mechanic, I know the choke is for letting more or less air in the carburetor. You might need to clean the carburetor. I would Google the problems your having and check what forums say. Because these engines have been around for a while most likely the problem your having had some people talk about how to fix it online."

      @@JacobAAllen yep. I just don't want it to stop running while I'm in vacation. I will definitely clean it when I get back.

  • @wilmersskitellervadmankans4934

    How did you get the Honda to sound so quiet. If you have some tips on how to make my outboard quiet please tell me ( I have a Honda 4 stroke 2006)

    • @JacobAAllen
      @JacobAAllen  Před 3 lety +2

      I used a Canon Rebel T6i to record audio with out a external mic on it. Then when I was editing the video I lower the volume so the engine is not to loud for people watching it.
