    I like how you said Robyn’s big moment for her is when she leaves the brownstone because if you go back to the first movie when their in the restaurant and she gets up and walks off, Harper stops her and begs her stay and says her needs her and she stays but in this last episode Harper begs her again saying that he will change and now she has the power and choice to leave and stand up for herself and not look back which really shows her growth.

    Harper is never home. Christmas and new year holiday he did not come home. He could have but he chose not to. Now, when it’s something celebrating him. He is there front and center.

    As much as I love Lance, Lance was very jaded character and very chauvinistic. I was surprised how long Robyn and Harper last long. Harper and Jordan are soulmates and I like Murch came into his own. Q and Shelby became the most stable couple.

    I will never understand why Harper proposed to Robyn and why she said yes after he told her that he was going to cheat on her the night before. It's obvious he always loved Jordan. Robyn and Harper never made sense to me and never should've happened. I'm sorry but fake african kunta kinte got me, I couldn't stop laughing and then Q with the will smith joke was hilarious. We all know Jordan gonna stand up for harper whether he right, wrong or in between. Robyn taking mia to Ghana was just to spite harper, it wasn't fair to him or to their daughter. I am probably biased because to me it should've always been jordan and harper because their soulmates. The Best Man should've truly been called the worst man cuz Harper is selfish and narcissistic and always has been.

    harper married robyn for protection harper is a man who is scared of his own truth hence it took for jordan to share his book to everybody else for him to really get his truth out .. robyn was the only person he could keep the act up for because she really didn't know him . jordan was his girl , the girl that was supposed to be his wife but he just couldn't let himself be with someone like himself .. he loves control jordan will never be controlled ..go back to the movie to where merch said " you guys were made for each other , so the two control freaks couldn't let go of the control and get freaky " robyn was really the side chick . she just got out to late like most women do ..

    I may be in the minority but I like Harper. However, with that said all critiques on him are valid. I do understand Harper though. He has always had this vision of what he wanted his life to be and instead of connecting with someone who also has that vision he chose someone who was opposite and tried to make her fit. Artists particularly, writers (I happen to love to write just out of practice) have a tendency to create their own story, the desire to write their life if you will. And they tend to live in their head instead of the present and the moment, so they miss the obvious. Now I gotta give Robyn some smoke she 100% KNEW who she married. She knew about all his drama and accepted his proposal anyway. Not saying the way Harper treated her was fair but she also wanted him to fit her vision of her life as well. She went into it probably thinking he would change or could change him but that’s the wrong mindset to have when going into a relationship with a man. You can’t change him sis and he can’t change you. Robyn and Harper chose someone who is their opposite and instead of separating when they should have, they stayed together only to grow resentful. And the Kunta Kinte line landed for me, it was funny as hell and seemed unscripted lol. I’m sorry that was funny!

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Harper’s character. I was so frustrated with his actions because he appeared to be selfish. When we’re caught up in our own thought process, it’s difficult to see how we impact the people in our lives. We can’t change people, we have to change how we interact with people. Sometimes that requires severing, or limiting, our personal and emotional ties. It’s unfortunate that Robyn didn’t walk away. In some instances, we think that we need to pick a side. Life is far too complicated to pick sides. Sometimes it’s much better to reevaluate our own thought process and understand the importance of empathy.

      @@GMAMEC Thanks. I don’t think Harper intentionally meant to hurt Robyn but intentions don’t matter when the result was the same. To an extent I’m a “Harper.” I live in my head. Becoming a parent has helped/forced me to come out of my head and be present.

    It’s pretty ironic because I think Nia Long is the only actress in real life that has kids. Don’t think the other ladies in the main cast do. (None of that is an issue though) Just a funny observation since her character is the one struggling to get that for herself.

    Tbh it was NEVER supposed to be Harper and Robyn or Harper and Jordan. Harper is honestly not in a place where he can commit to the amount of work you need to put in to a relationship for it to be successful because all of that energy is used on his career. And Jordan, being basically the yin to his yang, is also not in that space. Their first love is their career. Robyn and Harper only worked initially because she was in a place where she cared more about getting her “happily ever after” than she did about being happy and having a healthy relationship.

      You are absolutely right. I dated a man who who was the writer he told me that his book was his woman that she took his money, his mind, and his time. He did not lie I thought that that would change. Anything that we did in life up to being in the book even our most intimate moments. Everything was about what was good for the book. When I realized I became a character as hard as it was I had to get out. I think it was when he told me Bridget wouldn't do that.

After hearing you thoughts on our members only live I agree that Harper could have prevented this so he gonna have to deal with consequences of his actions. I can’t say that I agree fully with the comments presented in the video. I was never a fan of Robin or her character in the best man. Robin from the start had no ambitions or any clue what she wanted. But being young that was excused. To call Harper narcissistic because he only focused on himself and career was a bit trivial. It makes him selfish not narcissistic. Robin was not innocent in this series flirting heavily with another man on the daily behind your husband’s back is trifling. Harper set her up for her own success for her business. So to say he didn’t support her at all is not facts. Him wanting to be accomplished and do well in his field of work isn’t bad either. Every person on the planet wants this. His issues was finding balance. He wasn’t a bad father, so trying to take the child away was a bad move as well. Now the whole thing with Jordan was bad. But Jordan got exactly what she wanted in the end a life with no plans. She just gets to enjoy it because she accomplished all of her goals business wise. And now can focus on life. She wasn’t a menace…. that’s a bit harsh. She gets to relax and enjoy all her hard work and dedication pay off. So I enjoyed it all but the review seemed a bit personal and not objective…..

    • @lucyylou
      @lucyylou Před rokem +1

      Wow, I couldn't agree more. All the things said about Jordan and what she should have waiting for her were anti-feminist to me. Her happinest could be just being able to wake at 12pm, why does it have to be being a mom or in a relationship? Jordan was the happiest I have ever really seen her this series. And was content with what she was doing. She didn't focus on what she lacked or not being a mom until that possibility presented itself. So that was really harsh. Robyn has never been really comfortable in that circle because they were "Harper's people", she said that herself. I think they were all just cordial with her (except Candace, which makes sense) and may be if she and Jordan had really had their much needed talk or argument it may have been better. She sacrificed a lot but you what, she didn't need to and no one asked her to. We can not make the decision to suppress our self's and needs and dreams in a relationship just to resent our partner later on, it's not fair. She tapped out a while ago and the balcony scene with Lance was the end. She was just floating after that. That's why she didn't care enough to have him stay at her event. Not to mention Robyn had an issue with the book being a movie but didn't communicate that. Instead gave her approval and told Harper to get the okay from his people. I believe deep down she was hoping someone would object because when Lance finally accepted her face showed disappointment. That was not right but it was right in line with how she had been in the relationship...no communication. Not that Harper wasn't at fault but this video just seemed to focus more on blaming him.

    Robin wasn’t playing best friend to Jordan they was trying to be cordial because Harper and Jordan were friends before Robin. Jordan can’t get a man become she wants them to be like Harper. She finds everything wrong with the men’s she involved with. So she gonna always be lonely and with out man.

  • @jaylawilson2532

    This is just my opinion, but I think the reason him and Jordan didn't end up together is because they wouldn't have worked out. They were both highly ambitious people, and they both had an idea of how they wanted their life to turn out. They both like to be in control, and if they got together, one of them would have to relinquish that control. I think he married Robyn because while Robyn is driven, she has more authentic values than Jordan, and you see that in this series how passionate she is about her community and giving back. She's supportive and goes along with Haroer even though she doesn't want to because she's his wife and a lot of times what she wants get put to the back burner of what harp wants. I think Harper and Jordan would have either clashed or ended up competing with the other, and it just would not have worked out. They both like to be in control. They both always get what they want

They were and or not soul mates, her so called success was making her ass go blind and Harper was NEVER gone be satisfied made better friends. Harper was a narcissist- they rarely change. He was a self centered self serving selfish bastard that Lance called him at the Wedding. Rarely do they change. The only thing that was different was that On the second movie he had Faith. He judged everyone in the first movie accept Jordan and Miss who he thought was perfect. He never wanted Robin he needed her. That's what he said in his weakest moment at the airport. Contrast that with what Quentin said in his moment of desperation with Shelby.

    I didn't like the fact that Lance caved so quickly to this new age non-binary crap. He could've still loved his son, allowed his son to express himself now that he's an adult, but still held to his Christian values and remain against that stuff. I also don't like how all of Harper's friends turned on him after Robyn decided to take his child from him! They accused him of being selfish when Robyn was consistently selfish since the 1999 film. Harper was making moves as a father and a husband thinking about the long term. Sorry, sweetie (Robyn), but you can't live "in the moment" when you have a wife and child! Not to mention, the only reason he married that "fake Kunta Kente (his words, not mine)" was because he was guilty about betraying Lance in 1999!
