- Abandoned village camping in the rain using a new tent naturehike cloud up2x lightweight backpacking tent.
My video is a tent camping in the rain plus gas cooking and around a Abandoned village that was left standing after the queue was closed sometime around the late 1800 to early 1900 hounds.
link below to the Website I found that's selling the Naturehike tents cheap then amazon.

Oh my, the countryside around you is so beautiful! Wow
Hi Dan I have this tent and you can pitch outer first using the footprint and poles then clip inner inside clipping from back to front, hope this helps 👍🏼
Was just about to say the same it's a great tent iv got it aswell 👍
I have done this - just to make sure but not in anger ie raining too much
If you do it that way don’t you put the poles to the inner’s straps?
@@TheNotoriousT Late reply, but basically; you lay down the groundsheet, stick the poles in the corners, put the rainfly over the poles, attach the fly to the clips on the groundsheet, crawl underneath the flysheet, attach the innertent to the poles, adjust your buckles/clips/guylines and you're set, works well. Only downside is that if you take too long with the first step, water will get between the groundsheet and the innertent floor
I just love it when you mates all camp together. Makes for a great Vid for all of you. Love the different filming yet your all together.
Hi Dan.
Great vid as always.
I have a lamp similar to that that I found in me dads garage.
He said he used it in the power cuts in the ‘70’s. Have the stove too, as they both came in a set. Great bits of kit and still work as good as they did.
Regards
Thanks Dan once again for your enthusiasm ….always appreciate your honesty when things don’t go to plan …
What great view.
Love the vids… and the beard😀
i love mantle lanterns, very bright, too bright lol. I just shaved my beard off ...i look much younger...but ....lost me double chin cozy at the same time lol. The campsite is great, rugged history with a view, poor sods working there had a tough day im sure
of it, being stuck in traffic.....luxory, the ol four Yorkshire men skit comes to mind. Super vid Dan Thanks for having us along.
Used a lantern like yours just after Christmas when we had a power cut, must be over 35 years old a good bit of kit. We keep it handy in the porch. Having lived through the "three day week" in the mid seventies we keep a few bits on standby .
Beautiful location! I decided a long time ago that a tent must pitch together or it wasn't for me. That said, I own two tents suitable for bushcamps and am a dedicated tarp using ground pounder!
Love the videos, going through the older ones now.
Hi Dan , I think I would like that Meal , all good stuff in there ! , as for the tent , half the fun of Camping is the challenges it comes with , never a dull moment ! , lol.😊❤👍
Nice one Dan... love the sound of the rain and the history around that quarry must be interesting... ATB Chris
Brilliant video the views where stunning
I must say that I personally found this video very helpful and shows that the unexpected can happen and how it shouldn't put you off. Like you say if you pick the wrong tent for the conditions then you need to think on the spot. The scenery was amazing and the old quarry was Impressive. Cheers Dan looking forward to your next upload.
Sure thing. It's all about using what you have and making it work for you which Dan has done. Marvelous setting for a camp. Great tent Vegan Dan had big and roomy. ATVB guys. Bushyboy Oz
Nothing "unexpected" about that if you ever camped in your life before...
Hi Dan I love your videos can't wait till your next one. Keep it up👍
Great video, that shows exactly what it’s like in the rain, personally I don’t mind packing up in the rain but I prefer to spend the evening in the dry !! Don’t always get my wish though !
Keep em coming
I really enjoyed this video Dan...thank you...
Great views at the end. Enjoyed watching the ups and downs of U.K. camping. Keep up the good work mate, ttfn.
Brilliant video again mate looking forward to the next one
HI if that tent was mine and it was the only one I got I woud add a small tarp for the door it's nice that you have shown that sometimes it doesn't always goes right and that folks is the joy of camping 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Good vid Dan beautiful scenery
Yeah Dan like others have probably already said, for setting up you can set the outer first. Pain in the arse but it would keep everything a bit more dry at the start. But it does look like the “porch” area doesn’t give you you enough protection. So like you said maybe not the best tent to use in the rain if you intend on making meals. Me personally when I go out knowing it’s going to rain lots I always bring a good tarp and extra cordage. Being prepared is always the key when camping in crappy weather. Anyways, enjoyable as always. Now I’ll watch Scott’s and Vegan’s videos. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.
Ha ha, 🤣 you look like Paul Messener with the beard Dan! Always good to see you out and about, all the best!👍🙂
Excellent video Dan. You are a good cook. Thank you. Stay Safe.
Nice one Dan. Good on you for sticking with it and continuing to film it when it isn't going 100% the way you want it too. The view was worth it I reckon though!!
nice video dan and a nice wee one man tent 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
great video and what a great spot for metal detecting
Really enjoyable video Dan. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Nice video! Wow! What a beautiful nature! Feel free to show more of the English nature in your upcoming videos. 👍👍
Always interesting camping videos and beautiful English countryside. 🙂🍂🌳
what a camp and a view next day 👌
Looked like a good time and a delicious meal. Sorry your tent didn’t live up to expectations maybe carry an extra tarp to hang out under. Have fun stay safe.
Nothing better than going out with a couple of mates who can take the mick out of each other and just have a laugh, whatever the weather.
Top vid pal!
Enjoying watching your channel it’s got me in the mood to get back out and do some wild camping again.
I really enjoyed this video 😊. I love watching you cook and mixed the vege together.. looked so yummy.. well done Dan 👏👏🔥
Love your catch phrase. "you know what i mean dont you" lol
Well handled with that wet sunshine mate , great attitude ! Love your vids
Great video Dan!
Another cracking video Dan keep up the good work 👏
hi mate another great video.. if you put the ground sheet down and the poles in.. you can throw the fly sheet over first and then clip the inner in after to keep it from getting wet. Bit of a pain but its do-able.
Hi there woodsman nice to see you good video from sylvia ukxx
Nice one Dan. Great video. Looks like it might be an idea to take a small tarp with that tent. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I love your videos and your laugh. You make me laugh too
I think you r brill working class enjoying camping life taking time for us enjoying all of you vids
Enjoyed that Dan cheers 🍻
I've got one of those tents and if you use the ground mat you can pitch fly first, bit fiddly though. Cheers 👍
Hi Dan, awesome video mate and definitely a few things to take on board with the wild camping. Anything can happen. Keep up the amazing work.
Also subbed to Gaz's channel
🏕⛺️💦
Your meal looks great to me. I think you did well despite the rain.
You seem like a kind man
..cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Always thought the vestibule on the Cloudup2 (and similar tents) was a flawed design in wet weather - not great in the English climate. Well done for battling it out mate.
Yes another excellent video really enjoyed it. All the best Cheers. B.K
i always carry a small 2mx2m poly sheet and some paracord and extra pegs just to be able to make a extension if i need it i learnt the hard way as well good video
Love your vids m8 you really make me laugh and thats just great so thanks m8.
Awesome video Dan! All the best and always remember to follow your nose! 🍁🦫
I reckon some garlic naans with that would be nice! Decent tent tbh! Love your videos mate as for a newbie to camping helps
Adventuremenu itd soo good and tasty food….good choice 👍😃
It reminded me of a backbone it really dose.
Your alright English Woodsman I’m going to dedicate my next catch and cook to you, Greetings from SWF Florida USA
Great video 👍
Great camping spot ya'll have to camp in htat spot again !=8)
I always used to carry a Tarp when camping , at least I had somewhere to cook and sit outside the Tent when raining .👍
Fab vid as ever nice tent
You are a great lad
Loved that one Dan, I do like that tent, just needs porch to be bigger for cooking. Beards looking cool mate! Stay safe
Excellent video again Dan
Really enjoyed it
Nout wrong with a bit of ginger
I was when I had hair 😂
Had a bit of a mate bud. But it was kind of fun watching you try to cook. Don’t let it get you down mate, summer is on its way 👍
what a cool location 👍
Get yourself to dinorwic quarry north wales. Some great caves to camp in. And some good areas for quiet tent camping too. Been there loads of times never had any hassle even in the lower old house parts where the miners used to stay.
Nice video.
Thanks for sharing.
I think you push the stove in from the top and it clicks in
English, you are the man buddy. Another great video. 👍
Thanks
Great vid as usual 👍
Great video ,
I have been through that tunnel , there is an old ruined Hall on the opposite side of the valley which is good to look at if you walk from Queensbury on the other side of the valley it will be in the trees on your left hand side as you head to Halifax would like to see you sleep in that
Just looked it up it is called water Scout farm have a look Dan
No it’s not always like this most of the time it’s F.U.B.A.R LOL. Great vid buddy keep them coming
love when u do raining camp in sometime put me to sleep
Great video again Dan... I'm not far from where you are camping there so I'm going to go check it out myself at some point. Looks amazing. Not too keen on how your tent held up tho. But thats what these videos are about. Keep up the great work
Great video Dan. It's all about adapting to the conditions you are faced with which can always change.
I'm a huge fan of naturehike tents and I've got a couple myself. Could peak 2 and the Mongar 2.
I don't like the look of the cloud up. I know it shouldn't matter but I think it looks ugly and I suppose you buy what you like 😂
The rain thing has shown up an other problem with it.
I love the naturehike cloud peak 2 but that has a similar problem when it rains. If you have the outer door open, rain runs down the top cap and runs into the inner as it's just not long enough.
I completely understand where you’re coming from.
Thats why I love my Phoxx II, she has such a slender mermaid of a tail trim waist and with a big poundable booty!….
Tmi?….🤔
😂💀
I would have gone for a cloud peak but that rain possibly coming in made me choose the opalus 3...giant of a tent but not to heavy. But I am moto camping most of the time!
we have the same tent. cool
Just like to say I have subscribed and love watching I'm not person to go camping but I AM a carp angler and love the rain in my bivvy and sometimes I don't catch so in some ways I'm camping so on that note keep them coming 😅
You show views Dan, Vegan Dan see's dinner lol, good vid !
Brilliant video, give me the erge to get back out camping
Heh bud
Great vlog,,
Always a pleasure 👍👍

Metal detecting Wiltshire
Another brill vid. I have that tent yet to use in anger.
You mentioned Grizzly Gaz love his videos to , would like to see the two of you do a little hike and camp together
We fell off mate. I said something on a live stream and he thought I was on about him when I wasn't.
Keep that gas lamp. It's great👍🏻
On the older cloud up2 few ppl (like summit or nothing) have managed to pitch the outer first, using the footprint to set up the poles and clipping inner up once the fly is on
Now that's what I call a View , God's own Country !😊👍
Hi dan, just come across ur channel,so catching up with all ur vids.I'am not a camper myself but do like watching these sort of vids.Ive been watching a guy called JOE ROBINET in canada he does more or less the same as you, although sometimes he's kayaking, fishing for his dinner, othertimes he takes his dog, othertimes he takes his mate, all good to watch though.
You sound like a yorkshireman...im a yorkshirelass,we're tough us northerners.Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Ive subscribed too!!
Thank you for subscribing lisa
The quary was an interesting place, imagine what those stone walls could tell you if they could speak, blokes working all weathers, hard graft, probably 12 hour shifts.
Keep the beard Dan it suits you, you look like obi wan kenobi, may the force be with you!
I always bring my DD tarp with just for rain days. With the tent I pull it over the top of the tent to make a porch and with the Hammock I have used it once to make a larger tarp under the hammock tarp in porch mode off one side for me and others to cook over. Worked for me anyway. But I motorcycle camp so I do not have to carry the extra weigh in a back pack.
I've got the 3 person, enhanced version of this with the lighter weight outer and footprint, definitely not a 4 season, but is great for 3 season, and tbh, most 4 season tents are far too hot in summer, I like the extra space and it is lightweight, you can pitch the outer first and I've just used the inner when its been really hot weather as a mossie net, its really handy being able to move the tent, once it has been set up, Vestibule could be bigger, agree, but is better on the 3 person, if there is a gale blowing, it is very draughty, but I'd rather have that than condensation.
English Dan, make sure you carry some protection on yourself like mace or a nice blade. I don’t know if you know it or not but you are fast becoming a big celebrity because of your great channel and I would hate to see someone who is jealous of you try and hurt you buddy.👍
To those who are not initiated Danny seeing you erect the new tent would be beneficial. Maybe you could do a set up your tent series. you must have a few tents now and hammocks too.
Lmao off, looking for sneaky ninja Scott.
Suddenly Scott goes Blahr! In my head anyway 🤣
Love the green pan set whete you get it from
Good video. Curry looked fine to me, tent looked poor - wont be buying one of them. Would love to know a little more about the purpose and history of the quarry and little village and the point of the tunnel. Beautiful part of the country.
25:56 that bright colour would wake you up in the morning. My tent is pretty dark and blocks the light. Always worth considering depending on your preference
If you are cold go out and find a tree to get under and do running in place, maybe some jumping jacks, or some push ups. N Joy mate
Good evening Dan enjoying the video but would it not have been possible to guide out the fly sheet door at least a little to hold it off the cooking?
Another good video bud no steak lol
