You're right, that 48 hrs after they become free swimmers is the difference between 100+ fry or only 10 surviving, love the videos you do.
Thank you!
@@KeepingFishSimple Don't rams only last a year though ?
@@silverpro8356 Up to 3 years...
@@KaaarlottaI’ve only had rams live more than a year if they are bred in my tanks at home. Store bought rams might last 8 months. I haven’t kept them in a while but what I do is buy 5 and hope they breed before they pass.
Love your videos and the information, one thing I picked up from another Ram breeder is that most mature rams will want to spawn about 14 days after the wrigglers turn into free swimming fry an if you don’t pull the fry after those 14 days the parents will most likely eat the fry so that they can safely spawn again. I’ve only had the luck of breeding Bolivian rams regularly so far but have a pair of German blues that have ate their eggs 2 times so far but are still pretty young. Again I love all the information you give I’m hoping to build my own fish room in the near future
I absolutely love my German rams. Very educational videos! Thank you for all your help! You definitely know ur stuff.
Great video, well organized. Condensed information presented at a good pace.
Very interesting, thank you for your knowledge .👍🏻 I enjoy you & Justin.
Excellent information! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this process. I have rams, that have not spawned, and your video told me immediately what I may have been doing wrong. I need to up my temperature! 😊
Good luck!
Really informative video! Keep up the great work 🔥🔥
Thank you
Excited the see the live foods culture video!

@@KeepingFishSimple my German blue rams have given birth , the fry have hatched and the pair do not like me anywhere near the fry at all. from the 1st lot of fry , theres only 1 left , theyve just had another batch a few days ago for which im raising BBS and have egg yolk , unfortunately being in a semi rural part Bendigo in VIC , fish stores arent accessable , ive tried to order vinegar eels etc but by the time they arrive here , its all dead , any advice fellow aussie ??
not really sure the best way to look after these lil fry other than letting nature do its thing.
the rams are in their own 2.5Ft tank , but i have a community 4ft in my bedroom , that is a walstead style tank at around 26-27c , should i take the 1st batch baby into the community tank ? as for the fry , not really sure the best way to look after these lil fellas other than letting nature do its thing.
Awesome video, thank you! I'm looking forward to getting my pair from Justin

Thanks bro
Superb video and content! You’re one of the New Master Dean’s successor in mastering Rams 🔥
Hi Nick I've got my first batch of GBR all swimming freely and healthy there about a 4 days old from hatching I would say over 300 plus 🙂
Thank you
Great video! I love my GBR. Would love to try and breed them! Gonna start out easier and try to breed some of my cpds first!
Good luck
So cute!!!!
Nice Rams..i am looking for some just like yours.
great video man ! which anti fungus do you use ?
What's your preferred method to move such tiny fry from your initial hatching container into your fry system and then from your fry system into a larger grow out tank, especially if they're so fragile?
Do you have any preference of brand for the sponge filters?
when you say clean water does it have beneficial bacteria in this water like a sponge filter or just clean water with a air stone?
I used to breed bristlenose plecos, gbrs, and platies in the same 20 gallon high on gravel. Guppy grass, frogbit and Java moss made it possible. Kept the temp at 83°F.
Nice friend
Hi,
What's the name of the remedy you put in the water to prevent fungus?
What kind of fish should I put with my pair of Gbr?
How do you age estimate Bolivian Rams? I bought mine when they were about an inch long. Now they are 2+ inches and no pairs yet. There are 6 of them unsexed in a 36 gallon.
Nice
Thanks
Hi can I use any anti funga or is it only methylene blue thanks
Do I change the container as soon as I see riggers or do I need to wait a day or 2
hi, do u know if blue ram female can breed with the usual yellow ram fish!
Hi love all your videos, thankyou. Please can you help me, I have 2 questions 1. I have a large tank with rams, a gourami, cories and a Siamese algae eater. The Siamese algae eater gets super bullish only at feed time, otherwise he hides is this behaviour ok with my rams? Also I live on the Sunshine Coast and the tap waters sitting at around 7.6 ish I e put Indian almond leaves in and it’s helped a bit but I can’t even get it down to 7! What can I do? I would like to try and breed the rams. Thank for any advice.😊
Hello, what’s the diameter of your terracotta pot you put there?
Are ballon rams any different or basically the same ?
With a bristlenose pleco in the tank you don't have problems with the pleco eating the ram eggs ?
Hi,
I don't want to feed them BBS cause its not available around me specially in this lockdown. Can I feed the fry micro pellets ? Worked with RED JEWEL CICHLID fries and BETTA. What say you SIRE. 😀
Hi there I'm in Melbourne and would love to be put on the list for 5 blue blacks when u have available
Your videos are absolutely amazing 🙏 👍
So glad I came across your video, just in time!! I read Chichilids like a pH of 8.2-8.4 and my tank was at 7.0, so I have been bringing it up (now at 8.0). Have the temp 74 and they have laid eggs twice, however they end up eating them. I worried the tank is too busy for them to keep the eggs with them (2 corys, 1 bristlenose pleco, 3 black skirt tetras with my mating pair). First batch was small, second batch was decent and I see today they are doing the chasing and rock cleaning routine. So I learned from your video to pull the eggs and establish in breeding tank and you use tap water. I am on a well with high iron in the water…is that going to be safe vs the conditioned aquarium water? Any other pointers you suggest? Thank you 🙏🏻
which cichlids require that ph?? Not rams as the video states, they need low 6.5 or so
how do you get the water so soft ???
What's the green cube they're feeding on?
Cool
To increase the chance of good eggs add a few preboiled catappa (Indian Almond Leaves) into the tank to add beneficial tanins, which help prevent fungus, and have anti parasite, anti septic, antibad bacterial, and anti viral properties for both fish and eggs. They also give surface area for infusoria to grow which is an ideal first food for all fry. The leaves also help buffer both the pH, and the GH/KH into the parameters you want, slightly acidic, and low in TDS.
Thanks!
My tds from tap is 250. Good old England tap water. No baby rams for me unless I mess around with some filtration
I'm so old, I remember when they were classified as Apistograma.
Hahah wow
hello,,, do you ship to florida?
Have you ever been successful with rams in harder water? Around 8.0?
Can you sell male and female from the same batch? Is that advisable?
Quick question, when you stick the fry in separate containers do you put heaters in them to keep the water warm? Sorry if you mentioned that and i missed it :)
no one answered but my bet is you do have to keep them with a heater
Ive also bred most other species
Sorry totally newbie here.. How do we know the female and male .. And how much big this blue can grow
CaN we keep 2 pairs of cichlid together for breeding....will it work
It is nid heater or no?
I've been trying to get my rams to breed for about 6 months now. While I have had them successfully pair, and lay, they continue to eat the eggs. Other than removing the eggs to hatch out myself, what can I do to promote the parents to keep the babies?
Bro, please put a seprate video about fry rack system 😊❣️🇮🇳
Sure
Hi , i've 2ft,18,18 tank where i put 3 pairs gold ram n 1 pair electric blue ram.. m beginner for ram dont know how 2 gv them breeding environment..i felt my electric blue ram is loaded n m confused wt nw? should i separate them to nother tank ? Can u suggest wt cn i do nw?

Maybe
In a year how many time they breed?
Need a little help, I bought two gold rams about 2 months ago, with no intention of trying to breed them, they were intended as center pieces in my 20 long. Welp, I woke up this morning to a pile of eggs on a crypt leaf. Will females only lay eggs in the presence of a male? Or will they lay eggs regardless? One is ferociously defending the area, only allowing the other ram to get close to the eggs. This was honestly the last thing I expected to see this morning when I turned the lights on, and I'm at a complete loss of what to do, or if the eggs are even viable. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.
7:08 off topic but is that pleco in the right without its whole tail or am I going insane ? 😂
Hi how can I buy a pair of Dark Night Rams from you please?
Should I get something around 50-50% females and males?
Maybe play around more with youre lights. Use a automated dimmer so you can create more natural sunlight. Let the light go out in a time of one or two hours. To extent the time it became completley dark. Maybe they take more time in laying egggs, because the light is dimmer, They use this for breeding birds.
my electric ram is bearing eggs today for the first time I think
I have an important question: Is it mandatory for the fry to be kept in a _separate_ aquarium? Is it a problem if I raise them in the general aquarium? Thanks!
Not sure if you ever got an answer for this. I use one single fry tray in the top on my main tank because I only have one tank. I have successfully raised rainbow fry, beta fry, and currently have pygmy corydoras fry.
Hi guys, my electric blue rams spawned for the second time. Last time was a disaster due to a heater failure. I now have about 200 wrigglers in a separate tank. When and what should I feed them?
The video states when
beautiful fish🥲
I hope I can have this beautiful fish .
how do i get it?
I'm from Indonesia..
please🙏🏻🙏🏻
😍😍
Make tutorial on how to breed discus
👍
I've got German Rams that I've only been keeping for a week, and they've spawned and I've got free swimmers. I'm in my first 48 hours and I'm terrified of losing any so I've been consistently feeding the parents baby brine shrimp and giving egg yolk to the fry. Am I doing the right thing?
How are your fry? Did they succeed? Have the parents breed again?
@@toriwilson6961The parents are truly ravenous but I have a good amount of adolescent rams that have really nice color and size. I finally got enough money for two heaters in my 40 gallon that as soon as it hits 82 I’ll add them into it
I cant find any rams where am from so I breed betta and livebears
Good luck
👍👍
Thank you
How much are your rams?
What is your water change routine?
Automatic. Daily

Hi Guys
I'm an experienced aquarium keeper and have bred 10s of thousands of Discus
I haven't kept fish for over 10 years as 750 tanks was a huge undertaking for just 1 guy, after 5 years my love for keeping fish went out the door
A few mates have recently set up tanks and i get a lot of calls for help
Hence my passion is back
I want to buy 2 colonies of Blue Rams
1 colony of Blue Rams and 1 colony of Electric Blue Rams
Are the fish you sell of sexing age?
Do you sell Electric Blue Rams?
Thanks
C.J.
is it normal for them to speed up their breathing so much during playback? I get worried sometimes
wth.. is that pleco on the right at @7:08 missing his tail?!
can we breed them using tap water? or is it really required to use a soft water for them to spawn?
My male has blue spangling and super light black spots, but has a very squared off dorsal that extends back towards the tail fin and long ventral fins /: I was so sure he was a female, until the gold ram he’s paired off with started laying eggs and he came behind her to fertilize.. 😂
