  • In this video, I show you how I qualified 5 juggling balls on day 5 of my 30 day challenge learning to juggle 5 balls!
I was super excited that I could qualify so early in the process. I'll be continuing to juggle every day until the end of the challenge, where hopefully I can juggle 5 for a while.
My best tip would be to improve your throw height for 5 balls. Even just throwing 1, 2, or 3 balls at the 5 ball height will really help. This was probably the most important factor that helped me. The other juggling progressions are difficult and I can't seem to get them yet...
I've been practicing for roughly 20-30 minutes each day and on day 5 I got to the stage where I could make 10 or more catches.
Check out my Juggling playlist if you want to see the other videos I've made: • How to Juggle 3 Balls ...
I'll be releasing a full 30 day results video at the end of May!

I can do 5 balls for about 200 catches, the Taylor tries tutorial is pretty good

Your comment about making accurate throws at a 5 ball height was spot on; you were making good progress at the time this video was made (I realize that I'm getting in a bit late on the action, but I did want to put my two cents in). The other thing that I think is really critical to juggling 5 balls is rhythm -- if you're throwing and catching dead on the beat, you're going to be *so* much better off. Each throw is divided into 5 beats: The time between the catch and the throw -- i.e. the time that the ball is in the 'scoop' is beat 1. Beat 2 is on the way up. Beat 3 is at the top of the arc, beat 4 is on the way down, and beat 5 is the catch. I recommend setting a metronome to 230 beats per minute (that will give you the correct height). Start by throwing one ball back and forth... throw on 1, catch on 5. Get the timing as close to the beat as you can, keeping the accuracy of your throws. Once you've got one ball down, start on 3-up flashes. The timing should be toss - toss - toss - empty - catch - catch - catch... that's 7 beats total, with your hands empty on beat 4. Again, try to get the rhythm as close to spot-on as you can. That should be enough to calibrate your timing, so shoot for 5 balls at the same tempo.

So, Nathan, here I am ;o) Started juggling 6 months ago and am tackling 5. I cannot seem to get them up in the air fast and accurately enogh, so I have decided to start throwing 7 balls to kind of overdo it, get into the speed and the rhythm to fall back on 5 throws. Can't get the 552 either or more than 10 throws with 4 balls. Anyway, it was good to see someone show they could do it other than those who master it. Thanks.

No worries! Sometimes the traditional way doesn't always work. Good luck :)

I'm impressied! I can only juggle with 3 balls and although I can keep up the pattern for more than a minute, it still doesn't look 'neat', so I think you are doing really well.
