While it is true that Austria is not Germany (1938 called, they want their Anschluss back), what is currently the German anthem used to be the Austrian anthem, and was composed by Austrain Joseph Haydn!
i know I'm quite off topic but do anyone know a good website to stream new tv shows online?
@Mustafa Kace I would suggest Flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Mustafa Kace I watch on FlixZone. Just google for it :)
Interesting stat: since 2010, the german national anthem has been played on 71.6% of all podiums, due to vettel and merc domination
Might as well make it the f1 intro
It is really funny because when Vettel was winning all the time I would often try and him my national anthem but immediately go to the German one, because of Vettel’s dominance.
@@hansfromcongo6322 "try and him my national anthem" huh
@@acreativename7999 hum it autocorrects to him also u is right next to I
But the British National Anthem has been played 113 times on the drivers podium since 2006. Mercedes has 125 poles since 2013. 78 for Hamilton in a Mercedes. Berger virtually matched Senna in his final season as the Brazilians teammate whilst DC soundly beat Hakkinen his final season as the Finns teammate. Webber beat Rosberg in 2006, lost to an ancient Coulthard in 2007 but was a decent match for Vettel 2009-2010. The result of Massaa injury worked out similarly vs Alonso as Webbers age vs Vettel 2011-2013. Fisichella and Berger seemed mighty until they met a generational Latin driver....Senna for Berger, Alonso for Fisichella.
Funny stat:
Montoya in his rookie season
6 Race finishes out of 17
6th Place in WDC

@@CYMotorsport was that BMW engine most high rev in f1 history? It was up to 20k if I remember correctly.
I may be a dork in this town, but this data party needs more charts.

honestly as I was working that angle, I literally thought about that and he actually could beat 9 seconds somehow. Lucky for seb binning it won't do it.

Did Mazepin get a penalty within 9 seconds of his first race in an F1 car? Not that he's any good but I'm pretty sure even Mazepin didn't do that.

Lotus in '94 had a car that had only worked at Monza where Johnny Herbert put it on the second row of the grid. It was discovered in Portugal during the testing of cars with different setups. Great Britain has the highest number of driver championships which is a total of 10 drivers totaling 20 championships. I don't it's correct or not but Fuji speedway has the highest wet race appearance in its f1 calendar at 50%. Giancarlo Baghetti is the only driver to win on his debut.
Good ones!
Where have you been? 2 months and no new videos. Hope everything is ok with you bud. Definitely Enjoy your channel and love seeing another American with the same enthusiasm for F1 as me
not sure if someone has mentioned this already, but for Schumacher in Glitch In The Matrix, if he hadnt come back in 2010 and stayed retired after 2006, he would be paired with Massa instead of Button (Schumacher won Massa's debut race at the 2002 Australian GP, Massa won Schumacher's "final" race at Brazil 2006)

You don’t even need to change the point system.
If they would have switched the countback rules, so that if you have the same number of points, you become champion, by having less wins.
People don’t remember, that Irvine could have been level on points, if it would have mattered.
Irvine finished with a 2 point deficit and finished third in the last race with Schumacher finishing second.
If the countback rules were flipped, they would have changed positions and Irvine becomes Champion.
Edit: holy shit went and counted P2 and you’re 100% correct. I’ve made a video about this season and didn’t even think to call this out. Well done
Ahh I see what you mean. So a team order in that second race schimi returned to kick off the count back? The point was just to eloquently tie the broader point on points changing but that’s a really nice catch there mate. I can’t see why but you think Schumacher would have done it haha I’m sure he would be 1% could see the competitor not 😂

Good job compiling all those stats. Just one query though:
Has any F1 driver ever managed to finish on every grid position available in his career at least once? Closest "guess" I can think of was Raikkonen, but I dunno if he managed to get that far...
Damn, i almost forgot about your channel.
Great content as always!

Records Vettel holds:
-Fastest Penalty
-Youngest pole-sitter
-Youngest champion, double, triple and quadruple world champion
-Most poles in a single season (15 in 2011)
-Most race wins in a single season (13 in 2013, alongside Schumacher in 2004 but Michael has a better % of wins because 2004 had one less race)
-Largest points difference in a championship between 1st and 2nd place (155 in 2013 - mostly due to the new point system, because otherwise, Schumacher would've had this record in 2002 with 157 over Rubens, Michael would've had 380 against Ruben's 223)
-Most races win in a row in a season (9 in 2013).
The 2013 season is probably the best performance of a single driver I've ever seen in F1 alongside Michael in 2002, 2004 and 1995. When you consider he did all those ridiculous records and his teammate didn't even finish 2nd in the championship or even win a single race) and that his car only became dominant for half the season.
There have been drivers who have enjoyed an RB9 level advantage over the field or even greater and none of them did what Vettel did in 2013. NINE in a row... NINE!!!! I don't think this record will ever be broken. If a great like Lewis couldn't in all these years with Mercedes... I just don't see it happening.
2011 was legendary for Seb too, most front rows in his career
@@thatracingguy5694 ~Yes, and he could've gotten wins in Brazil and Abu Dhabi if not for his engine issue which made him give the win to Mark in Brazil and in Abu Dhabi he had an early puncture when he was already starting do leave the rest of the field in the dust from pole position.
In 2013 he also had a reliability issue in Silverstone which also cost him a win.
These two seasons could've been even more ridiculous if those reliability issues didn't happen.
Omg when the point system poped up i jumped up in my seat. Oh yes yes point out how great prost was yes yes. Excellent series.
Haha yeah I figured you’d like that. Some French mentions later too. I love Ayrton but I’m a manor Prost sympathizer in all of the drama
Ayy you got a sponsor. Congratulations 🥳
Absolutely incredible the only guy who can make spread sheets on Monday as good as a wet race on a sunday
A small correction. Hans Heyer didn't start from the starting grid. He started from the pits. Back in that time, the drivers that didn't qualify kept their cars in the pitlane. So in case a driver that qualified isn't able to start for whatever reason the first one who failed to qualify would take his place. At the start of the race there was a collision between Regazzoni and Jones. Heyer wasn't the fastest not to qualify, there were two drivers ahead of him. But he took the opportunity of the Regazzoni/Jones accident and as the marshalls were busy with that he strolled out of the pits.
Yeah I included the Neve and Villota bit. But you’re right about the pit lane! I still can’t find reliable reporting on how actually getting on the track itself but your explanation def makes the most sense I’ve seen
Red bull plays the austrian anthem for constructor (as Red Bull is an austrian company). The german was played because of vettel.
And now we have Hulkenburg who will almost certainly have the most grand prix starts without a win
Only 4 out of 13 French drivers have finished in points after winning their first race. It is a very low number compared to other nation-winning drivers in the same category.
love chart party so this is great
John Bois is a legend. This will evolve of course but will happily tip the cap to the pioneer!
Update on Valterri Bottas: he currently has 64 podiums i believe he is almost there, will probably get it this season

I like the Jenson Button stat. I believe the only person to ever go over 100 starts without a win (I think Hungary 2006 was his 113th?) and still go on to become a World Champion in 2009.
The podium of three drivers from a single country isn't that unlikely this year. A podium of Hamilton, Norris, and Russell is not unrealistic by any means.
I don't know if you like old school f1. but if you do, please make a season review from the 1982 season, one of the most dramatic season in the history of f1
Writers, editors? No.
Adderall, and lots of it.
6:44 This is interesting when you look at the total podiums each driver's countrymen achieved I'm total:
- Brazilians have scored more wins than the French have
- The French have accrued more podium finishes overall than the Brazilians by having more 2nd and 3rd place finishes
>Seb gets a penalty in 9 seconds.
>Mazepin "Hold my beer"
I think the 1982 season showed us how turbulent a season f1 when major politics is involved in formula 1. We have to be happy that now we are having a sustainable future for f1 due the fisa-foca war lessons we learned.
Still trying to figure out how to explain this. It’s not easy to do while traversing gilles, didier, and the entire racing drama
I believe the most elusive part of the hat trick could be the fastest lap. Simply put, any reasonably competitive car with a significant gap can try and go for the fastest lap (like Verstappen attempted a few times last season) by making a late pit stop if it so desires, and even has an incentive to do so. The lead car rarely has an incentive to do so; even if the #2 car is way behind, the risk of something going wrong is too high for anyone to attempt it.
Taking 2020's data, Hamilton had 10 poles, 11 wins, and 6 fastest laps. I don't have the data on hand to check correlation between the three statistics (if you do, that could be exciting!), but the pool of drivers who can expect to get the fastest lap on any given weekend is larger than the number of drivers who can expect a pole or a race win.
(Also, Sergio Perez is absent from the most races without a win graph, but I didn't want to just point out a mistake, hence the opinion above).
I just didn’t include him there are even more on the list that’s not close to the full. The actual point I cut out was to talk about even world champions on this list but obviously scope creep was growing haha. Always feel free to point mistakes. Don’t worry about that mate I can almost always tell someone’s intentions
It would be interesting to see some analysis on young people entering or trying motorsport and f1 drivers over time. This can be combined with different countries. A lot of success of countries producing f1 drivers is due to the size of the pool they are selected from, for example circuit racing is relatively more popular in the UK compared to the US so the UK ends up with more drivers (over simplification as there is a big industry and support in the UK). How does this compare to say the 1970s, and did we see the best talent that would be available? After all the best natural talent for driving statistically will have never driven on a track and is probably chopping trees somewhere. A lot of waffle but hopefully makes some sense.
Yeah Ive given this considerable thought myself. Where I turned the analysis to focus on data is the fia ladder. The fia superlicense points are geared to promote CIRCUIT racers in Europe. Not to mention, most junior category tracks are in Europe. And the selection process is centered around performance where familiar with the track is key. So whatever circumstances have you racing in Europe as young as possible seem to stastically position you for success. This holds up against all odds of population size etc. in nearly every example of an f1 driver from any country, they still came to Europe. And those that didn’t, eg checo, knew they had to or account for not being there. The days of the guest drive like the scenario Andretti got are done. I talk through this toward the end of my Indy 500 video from last year if you’re curious but also will surely talk it more soon
You cant compare different era points to one another. Doing this is equivalent to the scenario: let everyone race the full season, and then after the season is over you decide how to count points. If you are in an era of consistency over winning you will see drivers who will less but finish high win titles. If you are in an era where winning in everything then you will see more engine blowouts, crashes, etc because then drivers would push the limits more. Chainebear made a video of 2019 results and how many different ways were there for Max, Bottas, Vettel, Lec, or any other driver to win the title. And in that video basically, if you pick any 14 races (out of 21) Ham would still win the title. Top Gear did 24h endurance race and in that, they told a story of a team who would qualify last every year and would be slowest every year but due to others crashing out they wouldn't end last. The same goes for points in F1, you can give 100 p to the winning driver and 10 points to the second place and you would see whole different racing.
Are you joking about Ham would have the biggest struggle in quali (and hint that Max would be the biggest threat)? Max has 4 poles in 121 races, Ham has 99 poles in 268 races, just as a side note Lec has 7 poles in 61 races. Yes, RB is fast this year, but as we have seen time and time again Ham gets 150% out of his car in quali. Ham already took 1 pole away from Max.
Mh, I'm dubious looking at "win variance" really makes sense. If we ask the question of the odds of winning a race during an F1 career, surely the rather simplistic metric of checking how many drivers have actually done so compared to how many competed in F1 makes more sense (it's 77, including the Indy entries. Luckily enough, this compares well to 770 different drivers having entered the sport ...).
Hunt the shunt? No no Hunt the Slayer!

@@CYMotorsport thanks for answering, hope it all works the way you want!
Wait , checo should be number 2 in the andrea cesareis thing
2006 is the most recent year where Mercedes power did not win any race.
For number 4, I would also consider a Hamilton-Rosberg-Vettel Podium to represent all three drivers with their national anthem. Just wanted to point that out.
Hamilton isn’t German. I know what you mean tho, you meant between team and driver. Thats slightly more common but still hard to find
Points are just too high in F1,
My ideal points totals, while still keeping the pretty high totals in the modern era
P1=18
P2=15
P3=12
P4=10
P5=8
P6=6
P7=4
P8=2
P9=1
P10=1
this is a really fun idea actually i might take a look at how to make this a video. your allocation of 3 points to p2 and p3 might get you in countback trouble later on. this is a fun one!
@@CYMotorsport Might need refining but just from watching your older videos of close point margins as early as 2008-12 etc I see having smaller points rewarded you get a closer title race without having to try and limit cars too much

Red Bull use the Austrian national anthem, not the German anthem. They're similar but not entirely the same
Facts. Favorite this one too as my penance as not many have mentioned it. Really I wanted to mention the Italian national anthem but didn’t end up finding a good version to buy the rights to hahah so cut it from the script haha good catch tho!
@@CYMotorsport can I just say, the Italian national anthem is a BANGER!
That's interesting, but now that you mention it: they have (at least in the beginning part) almost the exact same rhythm, but the melody of the German one goes up and then down, while the Austrian one goes down and then up.
@@jabrown yeah, they often sound similar. When Vettel was winning for Red Bull, it almost sounded like they played two different versions of the same anthem on the podium!
Were there no all American podiums back when the Indy 500 counted as an F1 GP?
no podium at that event. even still, don't think I'd count it given the lack of representation with a tiny handful of F1 drivers actually running in the 50s
It was never an F1 race, or a Grand Prix, but it was a round of the World Championship. As CYMotorsports says, there was no actual physical podium, but if you think of the podium as an abstract construct then I suppose there were 11 World Championship rounds with an all-American podium.
So I guess I'm not the only Jon Bois fan who is watching F1 ;)
Haha hopefully he notices. I could write them an epic banger and gladly would given they are 10x bigger than me right now
Seb probably tried to blame someone else for that first pit lane infringement, a habit he carries to this day. Dude needs to retire.
And what happens when the winners,both driver and team share nationality? they play the anthem once or twice?
just the once
Vettel is toast.
Ham wins incessantly.
Ham is best F1 driver of all time!
The "Matrix" is spooky
Nico got scared of Ham's revenge.
I tell you what: if Ham eclipses Clark this year in grand slams I will publicly announce his GOAT status above Jim
