I've read that 1055 in the hardness that Cold Steel uses is about as tough as 3V, though obviously it doesn't have the same edge retention. I have both the Tanto and Black Bear machetes.
@@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 I have a Tramontina 18 Inch Machete With a wooden Handle which I paid $20 with sheath, which will out chop all three you have mentioned and made in Brazil and 1070 HC steel.

@@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 my Bowie is pretty heavy so it's difficult for any long term bushcraft, I have it for a fighting knife which is what James Bowie designed it for. I was just fuckin around because I'm bored.
@@3peckeredgoat735 no worries its all good lol I wouldn't use that for bushcraft either, it doesn't baton wood very well its just to thin. Now my condor bushcraft parang is a different story, its hard to beat lol.

Neither of those cold steels are scandi ground
Bowie knives aren't machetes they are Bowie knives.
Thats true but it actually works really well as a machete, not so well as a knife tho lol
