    I've read that 1055 in the hardness that Cold Steel uses is about as tough as 3V, though obviously it doesn't have the same edge retention.
    I have both the Tanto and Black Bear machetes.

      @@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 I have a Tramontina 18 Inch Machete With a wooden Handle which I paid $20 with sheath, which will out chop all three you have mentioned and made in Brazil and 1070 HC steel.

      I know right, I thought about that before I did it and did anyway rookie mistake lol, that sound tho lol. I can tell you the edge did not hold up pretty sure itll take a regrind, but I was thinkin it would make a good video.

    Bowie knives aren't machetes they are Bowie knives.

      Thats true but it actually works really well as a machete, not so well as a knife tho lol

      @@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 my Bowie is pretty heavy so it's difficult for any long term bushcraft, I have it for a fighting knife which is what James Bowie designed it for. I was just fuckin around because I'm bored.

      @@3peckeredgoat735 no worries its all good lol I wouldn't use that for bushcraft either, it doesn't baton wood very well its just to thin. Now my condor bushcraft parang is a different story, its hard to beat lol.

      @@alphaomegasurvivalsupply6548 yeah I just picked up the Ontario knife company sp10 it has a 1/4 inch spine full tang, I think its 16 inches long total.

      @@3peckeredgoat735 you can't go wrong with ontario, I'm not a fan of the handles in the large sp line but they're tougher than snot lol
