In this video I explain the LIN BUS (Local Interconnect Network) diagnostics. I explain the diagnostics on a car with U1112 LIN Communication Error fault code, So, I explain the LIN diagrams, how to find the LIN network on the car, how to check the LIN BUS waveform with an oscilloscope and how to fix the issue.

I just use the companies workshop manuals, like for this car, I used KIA OEM scan tool (GDS) which comes with wiring diagrams and workshop manuals.

Lin bus diagnostics would be so much easier if the service data would state wether the data line is a pull up or pull down circuit design.

Why why why???
Today's modern cars eg Toyota Glanza, Toyota Taisor, has 12V and then drops to 7V in the door close signal voltage.
Whereas, it used to be directly 12V when door closed and 0V when opened in old cars.
But today's cars has 12V at door closed, and after 20 seconds, it drops to constant 7V. When opening, it drops to 0V.
Why there's delay in dropping to 7V at door closed??
What's the significance of this 12V to 7V???
Please explain 😊
