Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Diagnostic | Diagnose Limited Engine RPM

  • Hi everyone, in this video I explain how I test the accelerator pedal position sensors when there is any fault on them or when there is limited engine RPM. As you guys know, ECM used the APS signals to actuate the throttle body, so if accelerator pedal position sensors are faulty, ECM will activate the fail-safe mode, so engine RPM and vehicle speed will be limited.
    So, in this video I explain how accelerator pedal position sensors work, I explain the wiring diagram, then I show you how to diagnose the sensors with scan tool and with multimeter. I also show you how to test the accelerator position sensors output voltage and internal resistance.
