My older brother has autism and is OBSESSED with Blue's Clues. I watch it with him a lot. I really appreciate Strider's more intellectual take on a show that is stereotyped as only for preschool age kids. It's quite refreshing.
Aww, I get the whole autism thing! I'm PRETTY sure I have it myself!
I'm twenty five and have Autism, I Still watch Blues Clues from time to time. I loved it so much as a kid and watching it as an adult, there still a lot of enjoyment to it.

To be honest. I have to actually thank this show for helping me pass one of my classes in High School. I had to take one last science class for my final science credit. The only thing left was astronomy. And it was very vast and the one thing you had to know the pass is the planets and exactly their position and location from the sun. The numbers were easy to learn. But the planets were confusing because on some tests we included their scientific names. I made notes but it didnt help.
That is until a certain ear worm from my child hood broke out and became a butterfly.
At the time of my final SOL. The planets were the final part of the grade. I got stumped. Than that little song came back and I passed with a grand B. Keeping my grade point to the way I needed it to be.
So yes a song from Blue's Clues helped me past High school.
That was my favorite blue's clues song growing up.
@@kylemorello4787 What I find surprising, is alot of my classmates said they really struggled with that part of the test. And they did pass but got mistakes on the planet part. Me and 4 others were the few that got that right.
@@halleyangel1706 wow! I didn't think the planets were that hard to remember.
@@kylemorello4787 The planets themselves werent. But the scientific names were and that's what we had to use in the test. But theres a trick if you know the regular names. You can use the way they look to name their scientific names. Like Sun is Heliosphere and so on and so forth.
@@halleyangel1706 oh! I gotcha! So you used how Steve and the Sun described the planets to help you remember what they looked like! I'll remember that if I take astronomy!

The main thing I always took from Blue’s Clues is that it’s okay to ask questions and that asking for help is necessary sometimes. You can’t do everything on your own, and when you even attempt to do so, things can and inevitably will turn into a gigantic mess. Moreover than that, though, I also took from it that it’s okay to be yourself. So long as you’re not hurting anyone, what you like is what you like, who you are is who you are, and that is 100% a-okay. I have loved this show as a child, and I hope the reboot does it justice.
You know, I think this comment has done that for me.

sylvie martin cool
My only problem with that episode are the continuity errors. Like why are the objects older than Joe when they were said to be around 10 in Mailbox's Birthday and why does Boris appear if Joe said he made him and the other characters aside from Blue did not know about Boris so he couldn't have created him as an infant. Also, where were Steve and Joe's parents in the flash backs. It kind of felt like a they allowed a kid who was new to the show set up the flashbacks.
@@youdontknowsponge6218 These points are what bothered me about Blue’s First Holiday. Also, wasn’t Blue supposed to be a puppy in the entire show. Plus, it’s so weird how they made Joe the same age as Blue, Mailbox, Tickity Tock, Slippery Soup, Shovel, and Pail. Even though in the show, Joe is an adult while the other characters are children.
This show taught me so many things as a little kid. Like, how to make a pizza, how to mix colours together, how to care for a pet, how it's ok to be different, and so much more. Even as an adult, I will always hold this show close to my heart.

@@phantomstrider Yeah. I'm kinda surprised.
How are you here?!
To be honest, I had imagined what a reboot looks like, but now getting news about it, I unfortunately have low hopes for it.
The worst part is they didn't even bother to fix the ending of "Blue's Sad Day" on the remake, she tells (Magenta this time) how she feels, but the other character in question still gets away with the damage they've done just like with Green Puppy, I was furious, this is one thing they could have improved on.
They did fix most of the boring parts from Magenta Gets Glasses tho, no awkward Miranda this time so there's that lol
Yeppppppppp.
It's a pretty easy fix too, make it so the character in question tries to just build and not be destructive, but then they get sad cuz they're not having as much fun, and THEN suggest the idea of giving some of the blocks to them to do as they please. See? That took a minute of my time to write, and it makes the message make more sense *and* it's only one change.
The green puppy must be an anime villain
I can imagine a jojo fight of this
Yeah the utlmate one on one in history
The green puppy must be an enemy stand user
Yes
But Moona the moon fairy from Blue’s Room should and must be the villain
Just to clarify blue decided to give green puppy some of her blocks because she figured out that it’d be better if he had his own blocks to do whatever with so that he doesn’t have to knock down her blocks. In the end, they both got their way, Blue didn't have to worry about her blocks getting demolished, and the green puppy got his own blocks to do whatever he wanted with them, they learned they just needed to make a compromise in the end. The message is that sometimes you need to find ways to get onto the same page of what you want without hurting the other person.
Yea and I also kinda got the feeling that you need to understand that sometimes people won't listen, and when that happens you need to just find what will work.
@@_MythicalWolf Then again they couldn't just show the green puppy getting kicked out of the house. Although I probably wouldn't have wanted to give them up if I were Blue, but she probably didn't think she had any other option.
I honestly think that doesn't change the message "Destroy public property until you get your way."
Blue only gave Green Puppy her cubes because she constantly destroyed her cubes.
Although I can't help but agree with what Strider is saying about it, I do think it's the weakest episode since we're stuck with watching Blue get bullied by someone she just barely met at school and is forced to deal with him somehow tracking down where she lives and then breaking into her home, then continues doing what he did to her at school, and even when she tells him how she feels (enforcing the moral the episode is teaching us) the green puppy didn't care. So the fact that Blue has to give up her own blocks makes it all the more frustrating. But on top of that, the reboot actually managed to make it even worse, they took that exact same storyline, switched the green puppy out with Magenta, and didn't even bother to fix what the original got wrong.
Howdy! Special thanks to my assistant writer Helen who greatly helped write this episode :) I hope you have a pleasant and cheerful new year's eve. And please be kind to yourself this holiday season. I'll aim to stay here through 2019 and keep doing what I love.

I feel like Steve was the Mr. Rogers of the 2000's. Sure, the target audience is young kids, but that doesn't mean it's the *only* audience. One of my particular favorites is an episode in, I believe season 5, maybe, where Joe teaches about how expressive and powerful Body Language can be while on the hunt for Blue's Clues.
Facts.
4:24-4:25 Actually, Miranda (Magenta's owner) debuted in the episode "Shy". Her final appearance was in "Magenta Gets Glasses". Just to clear that up.
And she never came back after "Magenta Gets Glasses", we don't even get to see her again Joe moves in the neighborhood.
IDK Well, according to the Blues Clues wiki, in Magenta's message, since she is Magenta's owners, that Miranda possibly drove Magenta to the beach, and it might be possible that maybe Joe and Miranda do know each other. But we don't know that. But whatever, wikis aren't the most reliable source so Joe and Miranda probably never met, although I like to headcanon that Joe did meet Miranda,

That episode, Blue Gets Frustrated, has gotten me through some tough times in the 1990s and 2000s
My absolute favorite episode was "What's That Sound?" It's chock full of classic moments. The way Steve says, "gopher giggles." The storm at the end. The black and white movie.
But my all-time favorite Blue's Clues moment was when Steve was walking in silence back to his house and. He pantomimed his reactions to things he passed, including getting a clue. This relied on the audience's familiarity with his routine. Then he sees a pawprint on a cloud, goes to draw the clue, and breaks the silence with a flabberghasted, "How did Blue get a pawp- pshhh!" wondering how the print got up there. It was pure brilliance.
Then, good lord, Mailbox sharing his favorite sounds. BLAAAAANGH! They were on fire making this episode.

What I liked about some of the Joe episodes was how there were good callbacks to several Steve episodes in terms of similar concepts being taught, but differently without any of them feeling like ripoffs. That being said, I was not a huge fan of the whole "talking clues" they did halfway through season 5 onwards, while I did not outright hate it, I just found it to be a little too... off-putting. But, then again, I did enjoy Blue's Room segments, where Blue was able to talk and interact with us, which is really nice to see, showing just how important Blue is to the show.
I have 2 things to say about "Magenta Gets Glasses":
1: For some reason, they remade this episode for the reboot, "Blue's Clues and You".
2:As someone who got their glasses from their sibling (don't worry,we have the same prescription),I've never been to the optometrist, but I'm sure it isn't THAT bad. And even if it is,it's kinda awkward to include that detail in a Blue's Clues episode...
Anyway,I hope you enjoyed this comment. Have a nice day everyone! BDShine, signing out!
They remade a lot of episodes in Blue's Clue & You. Some were fine, giving Paprika and Cinnamon two baby siblings rather than just making them new again, but then Periwinkle is reintroduced as a "new" character, as is Blue's pet turtle Turquoise, and as stated Magenta gets her glasses again. I don't think the writers entirely understood whether or not this is a sequel show or a reboot.

My favorite episode from my childhood is "What's That Sound?" Blue hears a thunderstorm coming and at the end of the episode there's the sound of rain and thunder as they're sitting out on the patio. The 'now it's time for so long' has no music, just the sound of nature. That was so calming to me and honestly is probably the reason why I love thunderstorms so much now as an adult.

Seasons 5 & 6 wouldn't never happened. As a matter of fact. The show was originally gonna end after Steve left .
Just something about Steve felt like he was looking at you where as felt like Joe was looking at thru you. He was entertaining when reacting fo otjer characters but he didn't know how to connect thru the screen. New guy Josh is hit or miss sometimes t sometimes thru but sometimes is better then never. Joe would've been grear in something else just wasn't fit for world requiring him to pretend to talk to an audience.
Oh man I had so many fond memories with this show as a kid! I loved learning new things with Steve, Joe, and Blue. I’m really happy that the show is getting revived for a new generation of kids! 😊💙
There exists a video on my family’s computer of me as a three year old singing blue’s birthday song, and I still watch it
It's refreshing to see such a wholesome good show for kids!😌
Awesome video Strider. Merry Christmas and all the best for 2019
Wow, Boo actually had SOMETHING to do this episode.
We are gonna play Blue's Clues 'cause that's a really great game! YEAH!
I adored this show when I was a kid, and I was ecstatic when I heard there was going to be a reboot! I’m glad that there are people still out there who love this show as much as I did and do! ^^
True
I feel like the problem with Miranda is she needed more appearances. Sometimes new characters can feel unsteady in their debut appearances but later they get developed. I personally don't judge characters who have very few appearances unless they are there just for merchandise.
i agree with your choices, but i also think the episode where steve leaves is also an important lesson about saying goodbye. a lesson to kids that people in their lives will leave the things they love behind eventually and it can be hard for them
Now that I’ve seen your #1 pick of all the Blue’s Clues episodes I’m thinking to myself “AHHH, where was this when I was a college student taking that really, really, really, frustratingly hard class that mentally tried and seceded in killing me. I mentally died literally every morning wishing I could quite that no-god monstrosity of a class.
Believe it or not, if you can actually comprehend this, the new version of the show actually made "Blue's Sad Day" even WORSE. While I adore the reboot of the show with the new host, my biggest issue with it is the fact that all the episodes are beat-for-beat remakes of episodes from the original series despite the fact that there are all these indications that say the setting takes place after the days with Steve, therefore the show itself is actually a remake, and on top of that, the writers don't make any changes to the stories, at least any that make sense. As for its take on Blue's Sad Day, I was hoping maybe they could learn from what may have went wrong with the end and fix it, but like I said, they don't change any of the plot details and copy every little thing the original did to a T, so how could they make it worse? The remake made it worse by discarding the green puppy and switching him out with MAGENTA, AKA Blue's BEST FRIEND. I don't know about anyone else here but I'm pretty sure within the canon of the original series Magenta would be FAR too sweet to bully Blue with blocks like that, even when she says not to knock them down. Wow, I didn't think that episode could infuriate me as much as it does right now.
I don’t think you are gonna reply but I seen the new version and I agree it’s much worst in fact it made magenta look worst than the green puppy
But magenta obviously would never do that and that’s the main problem
blues clues was one of the first shows i was truly interested in as a kid and it was nice to take a look back at some of these now as an adult...its amazing to me that a lot of what this show taught is just as if not more applicable now! thanks for this awesome video strider!
The one I remember fondly is the musical episode with Ray Charles as the singing treble clef. That song's still an earworm...
Yep. Good one!
@Jacob Martin I have that on VHS.
I never thought I'd ever see a list on Blue's Clues of all shows-
when steve said "come on in, make yourself at home!" I felt like I had a friend.
I'm gonna name the episodes I've seen on my VHS's I used to have in order.
"Snack Time" s1e01

Aww I love the Holiday episode! It was one if my VHS favorites when I was little! And yes the Birthday song is really catchy.
I have Blue’s Clues: Blue’s Big Holiday 2001 VHS and it’s my absolute favorite out of all Blue’s Clues videos that feature Steve episodes!
I remember the day that foul puppy demolished my parents' block towers, and my block towers... I will never forgive him for what he did to my family!
@Cristina Frias i'm going to assume you're kidding. if you're not, however, there's something called a joke.
@Cristina Frias ah, sorry for lashing out then
That horrible mutt is a menace to all of mankind. And puppykind... Yeah, just a menace, period.
Blue gets frustrated was an episode I quote "stop, Deep breath in... Exhale
Hey, PhantomStrider thanks for hearting this..... With the virus happening and all the horrible crazy stuff going on in Minneapolis, Minnesota this just made my week so thank you so much.... Truly this means so much I'm nearly crying tears of joy right now so thank you so much from this small town Minnesotan female fan of yours.
Great list, that science one is my personal fave, particularly for (spoiler alert for an old kids show) the tornado experiment being something I could easily recreate at home (even though it was next to impossible for me to find perfectly clear plastic bottles to even see what was going on). If you ever plan on doing a follow-up focusing on episodes from Joe's run, the one I love the most from that era is "Meet Blue's Baby Brother," an hour-long special with Joe and puppet Blue from "Blue's Room" (!) playing a round of "Gold Clues" to uncover a mind-blowing addition to the show's universe (the title probably gave it away, lol). Honestly, it was just neat to hear Joe and Blue talk back and forth with each other.
This was actually relaxing including sharing your opinion for the worst and best episodes! I hope you make more like this!
You’re never too old for Blue’s Clues. I’m 24 but I don’t care. I’ll be checking out the Blue’s Clues reboot. I hope that Josh dude doesn’t become another Joe.
why does everyone hate Joe so much? I thought he was just fine
@@aidanbarnes4290
Replacement Scrappy. Everyone hates him because he's not Steve.
@@FoxtrotMouse well that's a stupid reason. Can't we just like him for being Joe?
Aidan Barnes my little brother was super disappointed he wasn’t Steve, his absolute hero, but he also grew to like joe, just not as much as Steve and never wanted any of his mercy like he did Steve. I just hated joe for his stupid color-changing, rectangle-with-squares-inside shirt. That and I thought his voice was annoying
@@UchihaUzumakiYuki the only thing I didn't like about Joe was when he drew something in his notebook it can to life and started singing. But other than that I liked him and I think everyone is too harsh on Joe
Blue's Sad Day is a critical episode in the series because, when Steve and Blue skidoo into a picture of Blue's Preschool, there is an orange kitten and a blue kitten. Those two are important because Blue's Clues was originally going to have an orange kitten as the face of the show called "Mr. Orange". They scrapped that and went with a blue kitten and was going to call the show "Blue's Prints". After the first two ideas were scratched, it ultimately became a blue puppy as the face of the series and the show would be called "Blue's Clues".
We are gonna play blues clues cause that’s a really great game yeah. 🐶🧑🏻💙
This show was my childhood.
And you are one of my favourite you tubers ever, and I love the list! I personally don’t think any of them were bad, but I’m glad you covered them!!!! Keep up the good work ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Also my personal favourite episode is the legend of the blue puppy. I know steve wasn’t in it, but it just made me light up when ever it started playing
I think that painting is a snow globe
Blues Clues and You remade Blue’s Sad Day and I will say it’s a major improvement over the original version. Instead of Green Puppy, it’s Magenta who kept knocking over the blocks. Magenta wasn’t being a bully in the new version. In the new version, she gets a little over excited by Blue’s tower and knocks it down. Also instead of pushing it over just to annoy Blue, she runs into it due to excitement. She wasn’t trying to upset Blue like Green Puppy did. There’s no scene of false forgiveness to toy with Blue’s emotions. Magenta comes over to play and she ends up upsetting Blue again without being aware she’s hurting Blue’s feelings. Blue eventually tells her no and to stop it. Magenta actually feels bad and Blue offers to share her blocks instead of being manipulated into it like the original. It was so much better in my opinion. Green Puppy didn’t show any remorse for messing with Blue and doesn’t even say sorry! Blues Clues and You at least made the episode better. I suggest checking it out.
I never watched that episode yet,it sounds a lot better than the original. I think Strider should check "Blue's Clues and You" out! I'm not sure how he'll feel about the fact that it's a remake instead of a reboot though...
Happy happy new year phantom strider. Thanks for your work in 2018!
Nice work as always man, I really love your channel
