I can't believe that I just found Eivor. Some of the best music I've heard in years and I feel like I've been missing out!
One of best voices to appear in the past twenty years - she's THAT good. Her music is so seemingly simple, yet so full of heart felt meaning and emotion - listeners get pulled into another universe when she starts to sing. I find everything she produces fascinating.
How can someone sing so perfectly? It's better than a studio recording.
I've seen her live. she enthralls the entire audience with that voice. true beauty
One day my grandmother was talking about how good that adele was, then I show her this video so eivor started to sing my grandmother's jaw drop
Adele is amazing. But I agree that Eivør is her own league :-)
Both are absolutely fantastic. When all the elements of musicality, natural ability, tone and dedication align, then musicians such as these are on a level where we can only pick our favourites, not the best.
People, the Faroese version of this particular song isn't titled "Slør" but is really "Silvitni"
"Slør" is the Danish translation of the word "veil" in English. It refers to the meaning of "something" that covers you up, disguises you - if you will. "Silvitni" is the Faroese word for "veil" ("slør"). I am Danish myself, but do not speak Faroese, even though I have many relatives that either lives on - or has lived on - the Faroese Islands. It is the same the other way around. I cannot speak Faroese, but I understand everything they say or write. I do not know why that is.
She's like Bjork meets, Kate Bush, meets a Valkyrie - spun together and out comes.... Eivor. Unearthly, hair-raisingly, eye-wateringly marvellous. Ye gods!
Her singing is literally unbelievable. I have never heard even as good. The control, transitions, pitch and voice that sounds like she has vocal chords of pure silk.

How does this not have millions of hits? This song is incredible. First time listening to this. Eivor you are sooo talented. Don't ever stop.

I thought that I wasn't gonna like the English version of Slør as much as the original but of course it's just as magnificent

This acustical version is magnificent, beautiful, amazing. I prefer it to the original one. More tender, more fit to the words sang. Provides the intimate and personal feelings it expresses in the lyrics. More passionate. Love it. I would have released this song this way. Again, magnificent

I absolutely LOVE this song... It reminds me of my first love. He's gone from this world but always alive in me forever. Ten days before he died he came to me in a dream. We were sitting on the grass and hugging in the same spot we did when we first fell in love. In my dream he asked me if I wanted him to leave in our past, and I said No, that I always had wanted him to stay. He said that he didn't want to leave me either. We were separated many years ago, and never married. People and circumstances came between us and ruined our chance to be together. We went on with our lives but I could never let him go. 💔
