Great job. You are one of the few reviewers out here that gives on honest, unbiased opinion. Keep up the great work. I used this product to detail my family's vehicles. They loved the shine
I swear every time I've looked into a product you've uploaded a video about it the very next day. I guess I'm lucky
One of the best detailing channels I've come across. Very, very useful stuff. Keep it up. Love the approach. You take your time to explain the key finding about the products or to draw more complex conclusions, yet you don't drag it out for too long either. The worst reviews to be found out there are the ones where guys basically repeats all the stretchers to be found in brochures over and over without giving it a thought.
On the other hand I am missing more footage of the product in action - water repellency, for example.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! For finally going the whole way to describe and break down waxes and this product! You are awesome dude!
Love your channel John can always find what I’m looking for on here. Actually persuaded me to buy alot of things by going your reviews. Always honest and non biased!
i've made the commitment to use only butter wet wax on my vehicles. it's incredibly easy to apply and remove which makes it perfect to put on and off. It takes longer to put on then to take off yes but it would take twice as long with a paste wax. I do see it last as long as a month. but I do apply the wax monthly. Very buildable in layers too. So a few times I had waxed my car and 3 weeks later went on a trip and waxed my car again before I went on the trip. I could tell that the wax had that extra durability because of the layers.
Great channel. Great reviews. One of the only channels left where one can get a thorough, unbiased review from a pro. Everyone else is simply selling their own products. Sure, it's possible to get tips on detailing from the Ammo NYC guy, but he's always going to tell you the best way is to use his products. Keep up the good work. People like me really benefit from your videos.
cheers Joe..
Thank you for the in depth review. Definitely going to watch some other videos you have. Cheers.

I just ordered these and used it. I used chemical guy foam wash n wax soap then clay bar the whole car. After that I used this product on my headlight and also window too. This product is amazing and easy for beginners. Wish I could post up a picture of my before and after car.
Thanks Jon - I've just ordered some. I use Autoglym UHD wax as my normal LSP, which has great longevity/durability. For the past year I've also been using Touch-on sachets, which are great and add an amazing amount of shine, but can only be used once a month. It seems like butter wet wax would be a handy way of topping up the shine between touch-on washes.
Nice one John. I think I've got some of this in the garage from years ago. Not sure if I chucked it or not. Will have to dig it out a test on a panel👍
You legend Jon!! We were only speaking bout this other night lol 👊🏻
Thank you for the awesome breakdown. Hope you get a chance to review carbon flex form CG.
Ordered. Look forward to trying it out next week
I bought a 16 ounce bottle to try it, and I really love. So much that I purchased the gallon about 1 week ago.
i also use this product just as you discribed. a topper, to be honest with this product i dont really care about the durabilaty, because is just make the paint look good! i just apply it more often.
Idem, I mainly top off with a product like Autobrite Brilliance ( glaze + wax ). Shines and finishes like crazy. Extremely easy to use. As a base coat I use 476 or Fusso. Grtz
goo.gl/photos/pBtCMo55D1nK5Q3v5
Thanks I appreciate your feedback
I have used Chemical Guys "Concourse 50/50" wax so I just purchased this one to see. Appears to me that you can go with a Wax finish or ceramic finish. Not both as others have - said a bit of waste to use both. Jet seal over ? GREAT point on "layering" - the real science behind to al!
I agree that this is one fantastic topper wax especially when using something like collinite as base. What i call a painless maintenance topper
This product would go great on top of fusso.
SDS from chemical guys customer services..
isoalkanes 50-100
water
got them today, had the same idea =)
natural diatomaces earth
Holy shit. Diatomaceous earth???? In wax?? What the hell are they thinking?
great video john, i use it a lot but like you say it dont last more them 3 car wash here in portugal but i love is quick easy use and shine, another great easy product is meguiars x press quick wax,
I remember reading about how you can also apply to a wet car, maybe not drenched, but as a final drying agent. Chemical Guys also promotes this although it seems to be one of the lesser known uses of this product.
hmm im not sure if I would do that.. id just be worried about it becoming too loose and messey and your microfiber would get wet quickly so you would be swapping cloths.. dont know though mate im guessing ill have to try thanks for the suggestion.
Thank bro. Was skeptical using it , appreciate the review. Also, would you still apply the finishing spray (chemical guys forgot the name ) after the wax?
Another excellent review and highly enjoyable as always. Quick question, what was the white mirofiber roll type thing on your door beneath the drivers mirror?
great video Jon... one of our best selling Chemical Guys lines along with Stripper Scent :)
I quite like applying liquid carnuba onto a finishing pad and applying it to the car with a low setting on the DA. it's quick and can also work out some very fine marks on the car.
I got rid of some [minor] problematic spots that have been troublesome to me...
without aggressive steps...
Hey Jon ... John here from LongIsland NY @Carefree Auto Detailing good vid and I do use this product as a professional it has its place especially in production work. I also have monthly maintenance washing for a few fleets that I will use this after my initial detail. I use either chemical guys M Seal or finish Kare Hi-Temp paste wax then once a month too off with this doing my wash. Well take care mate. Keep em coming.
Best informational review I have ever seen, subscribed and thanks mate for the insane amount of detail. Quick question if you have time, what would be a good winter wax for the New England area (snowy winters)?
if its has to be a wax, then perhaps look at collenite 915 jeff.
This product suprised me! It left my white prearl paint so shiny and wet.
Excellent vid. Honest appraisal. Thanks!
I think this is really similar to armor all butter smooth wax(I believe it was one of the first on/off waxes). I brought a bottle years ago, don’t really use it as often as i should. Easy wipe on/wipe off application, paint is very glossy but doesn’t last. I personally wouldn’t consider it as protection but rather than just a shine booster.
Agree it's a great topper on my sealant, it lifts my wifes dullish eternal blue CX5 to another level. Even my kids unsolicited remarked how outstanding the metallic flakes sparkle in the sun after CG BW was applied and they normally pay no attention cars.
I have and bottle and now I'am eager to use in my black mustang. Can't wait.
Great video. So my plan is to use butter wet add a topper. I have a base coat of black fire bf900 sealant. After that I would like to finalize it with bead maker. What do you think?
Just came back from the chemical guys store, great timing!
Is this stuff pretty easy for you to get over in the UK?
It gives a nice shine but durability lacks.
I apply a sealant twice a year and the butter wet wax goes over the sealant in the summer only:
1- Wash- Meg's Deep Crystal
2- Meg's Quik Detailer spray/wipe
3- Apply Butter Wet wax
I'm going to find a more durable wax to go over a new coat of sealant before winter.
Maybe P21S or CG X-Treme Top Coat. Not sure yet.
Butter Wet Wax gives an awesome shine though.
A good summer wax.
Great video Jon as always I think they should rename the product as a show wax as the durability of the wax is some what limited nevertheless it's something that's easy to apply and certainly gives a nice gloss talk soon Jon
Love your unbiased, honest opinions. I just started getting into detailing my own cars now and you piqued my interest when you said it makes a good topper. Would that also apply if you're doing a ceramic application? Would this stick if topped over ceramic since ceramic is silicone based? On their website they have an application flow chart that shows after polish, then use protectant (ceramic) and then glaze, sealant, wax. Why bury the strongest protectant with a glaze, sealants & waxes? Isn't that defeating the purpose of using the longer lasting ceramic coat? And again, with ceramic being so slick, how would this butter wax stay on it if applied or would I just be throwing my money away?
thanks joel. I would not use on top of a ceramic you will clog it up and you will mask the self cleaning properties of the coating.
Fantastic video! Lots of info. Greetings from the States. 👍
Great job explaining the product
Very good review report. I would say for the 19.99 per bottle easy shine plus and most is the wet look of older cars it may not last but your car shines wk to wk.
I love this wax, my car has never looked better. I had been using Pinnacle Souverain and/or P21 the past 15 years.
I am sold... am going to buy a gallon (next purchase) for less than 'others', Love it, Love it!
~even though~ I don't like 'touching the paint', palming or running my fingers over the surface (LOLS)
I love the feel of my cars paint, after waxing the Butter Wet Wax...
A very good video (thank you) I concur, in all views expressed... (qualifier) My car is garaged, is not
a daily driver, never sees snow or harsh weather, I rarely drive in stormy weather (rain [hail threats]).
Subsequently, my car is not washed (as routinely) as most people...
waxing (the finish) lasts a long time...
I just tried this product and its been a week with no rain but I am absolutely stunned by the shine it produces! I do not like products with petroleum in them but its hard to avoid, it seems to be in every product. I bought this thinking I would end up throwing it away because I'm picky but the shine and wet look it produced will keep me going back to this for sure!
Yer it's nice isn't it.
Late to the party, but just ordered some of this. I'm curious, in your opinion, what's the best product for your base coat?
I have a quick question I hear you can use rinse aid on a car to help rain fall off! Is it any kind of rinse aid?
Hi and thank you for your content. Great work 👍
I would love your opinion on the chemistry side of using this product ontop of Autoglyms UHD?
Thanks in advance
if you have UHD wax, you will be better off just putting another coating of UHD wax on than using this.
Love the outtakes at the end Jon haha! Another quality video as always mate, keep it up.
cheers josh :)
I live next like 10
Minutes away from chemical guys here in LA (their Gardena store ) and I absolutely love butter wet wax .!! I use it as a top layer from my Wolfgang Sealent or jet seal
Eddie Luna lol how lucky are we?! I'm 3 miles away from it. Ahah
Where’s the store? I’m in Redondo Beach
I know how long it lasts is based on a lot of different factors but say you have a car that is garaged and gets washed once or twice a week. How long give or take do you think it should last?
A shout out from Canada
I've been using BWW as a topper wax to CG's Jet Seal that you have on display in the background. It's a combo that works well and both products are easy to apply and remove.
Also, after each wash I use Sonax's Brilliant Shine as a drying aid which seems to prolong BWW's longevity.
d tasca hi. Exactly what I do too. The combination gives a really nice shine and great dirt repellent. Almost self cleaning!!!!
I use Aero Cosmetics Wash & Wax as a drying aid to also prolong the longevity of my waxes.
Brilliant video! I’ll try it. Does it leave white stains on black trim if you catch it by mistake? Thanks!
yo dave, ideally you want to avoid getting on trim.. but it doesnt bed down too hard. it should just wipe off trim easily and any like oily footprint underneath the inital buff just wipe with a cleaning spirit or IPA or glass cleaner and you will be fine.
Very well reviewed!
After reviewing your videos, I ordered the Butter Wet Wax. Previously, I had ordered and used the Citrus Wash and Gloss car wash and I rated it FANTASTIC - 5 stars out of 5 stars. I have re-ordered the Citrus and now after cleaning my new Mercedes S 550 and SL 550, I have used the Butter Wet Wax on both vehicles. Again, I have to say these products are FANTASTIC and I now rate the Butter Wet Wax 5 stars out of 5. I'm just a car guy; I am not affilitated with Chemical Guys in any way. I'm posting here to let others know of my experience and opinion. These are WOW factor products. So far, I'm extremely pleased with the products. I will order additional products and test them as well.
thanks chris, great you liked it. the butter wax is easy to use and definetly add a ton of gloss.. they just dont last very long though. great toppers though and show gloss shine for events etc..
As you were shaking up the wax with water, i was wondering if that could create a usable quick spray wax?
Good review, I’m tempted to buy this. What base coat would u recommend prior to applying this as a topper. Thanks
Good question. I'd love to know an answer
@@matt.b.walton powerlock plus is awesome it's a great base and easy to work with.its awesome!!
Hello what is the best shampoo wash and wax the car?I use it’s make actually Hybrid solutions Ceramic wash & wax.
Easily!!!!! The best review I have even seen on a wax product...... period!!!!
thank you for the kind vibes sir you warm my heart with your positive nature.
@@ForensicDetailing Well deserved! I just subscribed to your page and on Amazon I just got a gallon of the better wet wax for my S-class!
I ordered it..seemed legit
Not long lasting is NO issue! I detail & wash on a regular.. no problem
Good review, any chance you could do the same for the JetSeal that was in the background?
I use it all the time and the JetSeal works great!
Chemical Guys makes awesome products for the most part. Only very few products that I've tried that I did not care for. Everything else with their waxes, sealants, soaps are premium products. Good video.
aaf1218 If you take they make good products, you have no idea about detailing. They are the equivalent to Turtle Wax.
Marcus Cassius I wouldn’t say they’re terrible. They’re expensive, but not terrible. If you want something good then try jetseal. It’s an amazing product, pricey but well worth it. I got 5 months out of it on my car in a heavy winter. I’m going on almost a year with jetseal on my truck (that I don’t drive a lot). It’s just barely starting to wear off with the beads not as tight as first applied. But they are well above turtle wax
hi jon , great review again , thinking of putting it on top of double speed , its been on car a few months and its still glossy and beading but it needs a topper??. can you tell me what's the applicator pad you using . went on really quick , knowing you its from rag master??liked the comedy cuts at the end of vid, had a giggle lol
Its the Ragmaster one mate. High quality korean pile.. stays nice as well.. same price as most crappy budget chinese terry cloth ones as well. really nice applicator for looser products. too soft for hard curing products though or paste waxes..
The ending😂 gold!
Thanks for a great review with both pros and cons instead of just focusing on the pros. It looks like it is easier to apply than thicker paste type waxes, but won't last as long. Easier to use will probably mean it will get applied more often. I will definitely be giving it a shot.
Very late now but was it any good in the end please? 😅
try out malco cherry flash wax works great little drying time but comes right off as well
nice video mate!
how do you see the idea, if I apply this product on Fusso Coat? Would the Carnauba even stay on the slippery surface of that PTFE-coating? How long could it probaly last? Thanks! :)
this product will work on top of fusso.. Wet butter wax isnt a bonding sealant as such so its ideal for use as a topper...
Just water and the main attribute you give it is what I want shine. I will wax my vehicle three times a month if I have to I don’t care I wanted to shine. Thank you for your video.
does this butter wax produce better gloss shine than AutoGlym Ultimate High Defination Wax...?
I know this is 3 years old or more but here is what I did to my sports car that is not a daily driver and not driven in the rain unless it’s by accident. I applied Turtle Wax ceramic green spray a few weeks ago. I washed my car with mr. pink then used turtle wax wet a shine which is a ceramic infused drying agent along with ceramic booster so they claim. For my topper I used this wet wax. It was easy off. It’s hard to tell if product fully deposited because of the existing hydrophobic wax and sealant. Nevertheless the shine is off the hook. When I drove it today in the blazing sun it got a lot of attention.
Nice presentation!!
You are spot on about the deep shine as well as the lack of durability of this product.
I like the way this guy says "fluffy" Subscribed!
Do a video of Adams buttery wax supposed to last 6-8 weeks can get it from prestige car care shop
My favorite wax are the Japanese SOFT 31, COLLONITE, SWISSVAX, ANGELWAX.
If I apply the Jet Seal after applying Butter Wet Wax, does it compromise it?
Also, applying the Jet Seal after, does it help in terms of durability?
Hope to hear from you,
Thanks in advance!
FYI, Great video with in depth description! thanks for that!
Toti always apply the sealant to the paintwork first. Then wax. Never put sealant on top of wax. The reason being the moment the wax fails, so will the sealant.
I love this product ! When you are done it looks like looking in a mirror with the shine ! Smooth wet look when dry !
Has zero hydrophobic properties though.. I need to reapply my jax wax graphene wax again, thought I would try this
Has a nice shine tho
Good day sir, have you tested the Chemical Guys Jet Seal. I noted that it's in the collection in the background. If you have any results could you discuss them please, or better yet, make a video. Thanks, enjoy the videos.
stay tuned fred ;)
If you apply a spray ‘ceramic hybrid’ over this would it make it last longer? Was just watching reviews on those types of products and the Turtle Wax ceramic spray seemed to come out ahead of anything else. Definitely to my surprise. I’m going to try it and see how long it lasts.
Hmm not sure
Just used it for the first time. Amazing. 20 minutes to do my Q50 and she's gorgeous.
milton hines still looks nice and shiny?? Thinking of getting this for my 370z
@@J-ose My neighbor used it on his 2010 Honda Accord and it looks like a new car. Pretty easy to use and great results. We've had a lot of rain.
milton hines does is still look as good when you first applied it? Thinking of pulling the trigger as they have sells right now
What is the paint code for that vehicle? I was looking for that bmw paint code for a very long time.
Damn good review, I never heard or thought to put a wax in water. When I get to work tomorrow Im doing it lol.
awesome information thanks jon
How many wash cycles does butter wax last
In your opinion, do you think Bouncers Done and Dusted QD or Butter Wet Wax gives the best, deepest gloss? I'd imagine that Done and Dusted probably lasts better?
Your videos are great. But, please could you increase the recording volume next time?
Dennis Kwok these are totally different types of products. I've used B&D but I didn't get the same results John did, because my white car didn't benefit as much from the product as it does using a butter wax type product! This is all the fun of this expensive hobbie we call detailing.
I love this guy ❤❤❤ very professional and very intelligent his been my teacher ever since . 😊😊
Thx u
I think this is the type of product to use if your paint is already well maintained and you want a good shine just before a car show or if you just want to show off your car that day. The instant deep gloss effect from natural carnauba is unlike any synthetic product you can buy, period. But, It shouldn’t be used as your primary wax unless you want to apply it every time or every other time you wash your car.
yer nice summer product for a show or something.
Good video. Completely agree👍
I decided to use this product on the recommendation of not only ease of use, but because of the low amount of solvents and abrasives, as you mentioned. I put product on brand new vehicle, only weeks old. You mention to use as a topper. What do you recommend to use as a base in conjunction with the butter wet wax? Thanks
yo sean a paste wax or a liquid sealant. if you lliked this check out a base product from chemical guyst to pair it with. jetseal 109 perhaps
Why not just siO2 over the top with something like gyeon wetcoat to extend durability?
lucky that i dnt have to pay for much shipping i live in so cal lol'
Wow great video
Would this be perfect on top of my optimum gloss coat and then put opti seal on top I think so
No abrasives in it ¿
Yes - i was thinking of putting Chem Guys "Jet Seal over it!
I use this on my cars 3 to 4 times per year, usually after a good wash and polishing...the other day I went ahead and used it on my lights, windows too.
There's much better waxes than Butter Wet Wax
What do you recommend? I've also used Meguiar's and Mother's waxes, which are pretty good too.
Collinite 845. I'm testing Fusso Coat soon, so many positive feedback on that product. If you must stick with CG(they have a lot of fanboys), Pete's 53 is good.
Also look up Hi Temp paste Wax.
Cool thanks, I'd like to find a durable product! Do you do videos on these...
Love this channel. Would this be a good topper for Fusso, or should I really be puting a paste wax on top of the Fusso (maybe AG HD) before using it?
would be a great topper for fusso for the summer months when you want some nice quick shine...
Cheers and thanks for your hard work on these videos. They're costing me a small fortune!! :-)
how does this compare to Autobrite Directs Carbanuba wet wax?
cheers for yet another informative insight John, what do you think to me trying this as a mix with my collinite 845 if i warmed the bottle to allow them to mix?..is this plastic and rubber trim safe?...regards rich.
i wouldnt mix this with 845 mate..
good enough for me mate...cheers
What about a review of some of there stuff like the angelwax video? I just got some of their stuff and finding it good so far.
I'd need a bigger garage to review the full range! :)
Ive always thought they do lots of decent products but they get so much stick.
I'm about to do a full detail to a 2014 black BMW . I'm doing a 2 step paint correction with menzerna compound & menzerna finish polish . Next I'm using fussco then butter wet wax . Will this be a killer set up ?
should be fine on top of fusso mate...
If you are doing a Black BMW, you should buy the ANGELWAX for BMX, after you use the combo you said. Try to use SONAX Perfect FINISH. Very good with Menzerna Compound. I love Resurection from ANGELWAX.
How hard is it to get off of black plastic?
What product is your favorite for water beading and dust/pollen repellent?
Fusoo coat
@@ForensicDetailing thank you!
Evening Jon, Nice to see you back again. Can you confirm where you bought the Microfiber Applicator Pads. The block shaped ones. An internet search so far has only given me firms in the U.S.Cheers,Steven
those are from the rag master in the UK should have mentioned them.. they are basically like eagle edgeless cloths.. EG high quality thick open pile korean 70/30 microfiber.. but in a sponge.. wouldnt use on harder paste waxes but create for liquid wax or liquid sealant and very very safe on paintwork.. cheers buddy.
Thanks Jon. Much appreciated.
I just ordered for alpine white bmw I
Have a spray wax could I use it after the butter wax or before of course the car will be washed clean before all that
You can use that spraywax after the butterwax.i use the spraywax after I wash my vehicle,it just keeps the gloss magnified and keeps it looking fresh.
Will adding a sealant after waxing with the butter wax like turtle wax ice seal and shine work to have this last longer?
most sealants wont bond as well if you spray on top of a wax... but hey it will be ok. they are cheap enough.
