I love this stuff. It's kinda expensive but the ease of use and the amount you use, it's totally worth it. It hardly takes any product, goes on super easy and wipes off easy. Doesn't leave any kinda residue in the gaps or cracks or in emblems.
I am an avid Chemical Guys user. I have been debating about trying out the hydro slick on my corvette. I will be ordering some now after watching your video. Thanks for the awesome product review.
Thanks a bunch for this video. I just used this on my Maverick Lariat last week. I didn't do the prep though cuz I washed my truck and applied Nexgen's ceramic spray a week before I found Hydro slick. I love this stuff too Korey! I didn't have to use a lot of it either. My truck stays outdoors cuz I live in an apartment complex and a lot of dirt flies around my area. I just have to use a microfiber cloth to wipe of the dirt, dust, whatever, and it stays slick and shiny!! I sooo recommend this product to anyone who details their own vehicle!!
This is the first time I've seen a video from your channel and I really like your no-nonsense approach to detailing. I have subscribed.
thanks for watching lots of detailing content on the channel and much more coming soon. AF
I have the stuff and it works amazingly. I strongly recommend it.
David _ recently put it on one of my clients cars how long has it lasted you?
Shill
Super helpful. I've got a black Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti that I absolutely am in love with. Your Quads a monster. They are both so capable and tunable! Cheers!!!
Well...I know what I’ll be getting next. Good review Sir 👍🏼
Cleaning, preparation IS everything.
exactly and the most often step always skipped or done poorly and people complain the product sucks.
Thumbs up just for the absolutely sick Alfa. Best ever.
Applied two coats of Hydro Slick on my 87 Corvette. Decon , clay etc the paint and you are right it is slick . The prep is the key . And we had a hard time taking the first coat off . Hydro Slick reminds me of Klasse.
glad you did it right, this stuff so far does work and i think this category of products over time will only get better with technology . Now as for long term that Fusso is damn hard to strip off and does last i just dislike using it
@@autofanaticcars Need to try Fusso still I seen the video when you used it. And as always enjoy your videos..
@Andrew Schwab
Is KLASSE a cleaner, a protectant or an all in one cleaner protectant?
I’ve researched their reviews and different users all say differently & use KLASSE Sealant for the longest lasting protection.
I put this on one of my fleet vehicles that frequently travel 40 miles a week on a desert washboard road. Since using this product I have never needed nothing more than water to wash the dust off including the windows. Have since applied to a fleet of 15 Lincoln hybrids. The drivers told me they've seen more tips since!
I do the same in Texas. Just Water to wash the dust off.
Just finished restoration on my 1991 F150, used Sikkens paint so it had a pretty deep shine to start with. I've used Chemical Guys V07 Spray Sealant on it with great results (LOVE it). So I wanted something to put on the paint that would withstand the truck sitting outside in the elements (put my wife's car back in the garage, Lol). So I applied the HYDRO-SLICK (easy on, moderately easy to take off). The DEPTH of shine is absolutely off the charts, I've never used anything that has as CRISP & BRILLIANT shine as Hydro-Slick, I am completely amazed. Now I just put it on 2 days ago, so time will tell as far as durability, but in my opinion the shine itself is well worth the $ price $ of this product. I really like Chemical Guys products & no I don't get anything for this review besides a PHENOMENAL shine!!! Hope this review helps anyone considering, you won't be disappointed.
How well did it hold up? I'm considering trying this stuff myself on my 99 F350 I'm doing a make over on. Been seeing good reviews but no word on how long it lasts in the real world on vehicles that are outside a lot.
What's the review of the year? Did it hold up?
I just picked up my second bottle. I get about a month or two before I have to re apply but I love it. We just got done with the rainy season and it was really cool watching my car stay dry.
Just bought it. Freaking awesome. I wouldn't care if it didn't give the full year protection, I just love it. And it's priced very reasonable considering how wonderful this is. We did all the steps you recommended as far as decontamination on the surface. We used a clay pad disc on a sander. Thank you for the video
Clicked on the video to see what someone else thought of this, I recently used it on my Giulia. Then I saw you have a QV!
OUTSTANDING COMMENTARY. THANK YOU !!!!!
Good video Auto Fanatic! Regards Autobrite Direct in the UK
Awesome video! Thanks! Saw it at WalMart today and I was surprised!
Glad I watched this, I've seen others have a lot of trouble with the wipe off. Watching this video though, it seems like the trick is to use a veeeery thin layer. Thanks man!
prep and application are key to any proper product testing.
I think I know obe guy in particular that youre talking about That guy is a joke and shouldnt be reviewing anything.
I have 2 black cars, never had problem with the fusso coat.
Exited to try hydro slick next
I used this on my motorcycle. Done an amazing job. After 6 months, still looks great, and beads off good too. Granted bike is garage kept, but it is rode alot.
How much is it bud ?? I'm in the UK
Probably around 45 euro
Excellent explanation thanks I would try it 👍👍
i use rally cream wax put over an ceramic coating the beating and run off is great and the gloss is fantastic especially with metallic paints
Like a silk shell for your car
Hey there Enjoy you’re videos Do you have video on how you decontaminate a previous coating
Thanks
i might have done one on the channel or in stages. if you can not find one let me know i can do this for a new video then someday
@@autofanaticcars i really like your approon that subject
I use a lot of their products. Interior products are fantastic from chemical guys. All their interior/exterior brushes. Air fresheners, wax, ceramics, iron decon is amazing. All easy to use product's. Should try their lava wax bit pricey but I'd love to see a review on it i have yet to try it but i hear its amazing. I have subscribed. Great review.
I've had the Hydro charge on my Mustang, my uncles Dodge ram 3500 and my pops Tahoe on there for 5 weeks and we've had major storms here in AZ with the heat and all and the product is still on all 3 I think they did pretty good on the products. Also all 3 get driven every day
same feedback right here and same time for my car, once the rain stops i want to see how the car self cleans with just a touchless foam wash and rinse and on black its pretty obvious how it will fair and i may shoot a video on that soon
Watched a bunch of your reviews. Really thorough and no bias any way. Love it! Keep up the good work!
Great review. I just used this on my Jeep GC Overland and it’s amazing.
Fanatic, you need to try Miyabi Coat, from Kamikaze. It's an awesome ceramic coating product.
I normally like to stay away from chemical guys products but I may have to give this a shot
I love your Alfa Romeo with carbon fiber on the back. Do you know how to get ride of scratch marks?
Wow that's such a beautiful car! Everytime I see them, I fall in love all over again. Alfa really hit it out of the park
thanks watch my 1 year ownership video on this channel.
@@autofanaticcars Will do man! Recently discovered your channel, loving the content 👌
Nice! ...And answered my question 4 minutes in! Wish I hadn’t just aced the Shelby and Stelvio in the last two weeks 😥 I’m going to give this a shot, I’m not a CG hater....appreciate the review.
I know you love Gliptone’s Metal Polish, you should try their GT Quartz or even their waxes/sealants. I like them more than collinite
Man. It looked so easy watching you applying it. I am having a hard time using this. Especially trying to wipe it off. Don’t know if I am putting too much on the pad. Is it better to leave it on longer till it’s dry?
What do you recommend for front red calipers that have lost their gloss?
Excellent Video!! Always enjoy your videos they are very informative.
I strongly recommend Dri wash n guard
Hi I like your video very well explained 👍🏻 any advice for windows? I tried a few but still not lucky to find a good one. 😊
lots of people like Glassparency for the windows as a coating look it up.
Man, that carbon wing is nice 🔥
What are you using in the spray bottle to decontaminate the surface? You said it so quick I couldn't make it out.
The chemical guys Hydroslick is great!! I use tons of Carpro CQuartz products and the CQuartz U.K 3.0 is my go two ceramic I use in my detailing shop just finished up 1957 Thunderbird that's headed to Barret Jackson.. If you do the UK 3.0 ceramic coating 2 layers and use CQuartz Gliss for top coat we are seeing awesome Hydrophobic and superslick fininsh still after 16 months so far and tons of chemicals being put on it
Agree. CQ is amazing.. may use this stuff as a boast
Will this work on any car paint finish? I know nothing about waxing a car, but I’d love to do my new Jeep. Also, I have a 63 T-Bird and a 1940 Ford Sedan. While I want the shine and protection, I must be very careful with those. Also, before using this product, what would you recommend I do before applying this product?
If you have time, would you please list the steps and products I should take in achieving success? I’m doing this myself and as you can see from my avatar… I’m a girl!
Thank you.
another good review Phil, always look forward to your insights. Only problem is a I have a product backlog thanks to your content. BTW, any interest in experimenting with Meguiars Ceramic Spray wax ? you probably don have any interest in this one but im trying as a topper . testing not going well
especially good call on the foamer
I tested the Megs Ceramic Spray on a few cars, my 007 Gloss Enhancer works way better, is cheaper and actually last longer so i moved on from that one.
Great video I will be trying it great product
Total newbie here, so forgive my questions or comments. My qx56 has not been waxed in years, so what would be my best approach before trying to use this product? At a minimum, I figure getting it detailed. I appreciate your advice and suggestions, thanks.
I bought one bottle of this. First time using it and I really like it. Smells like a candle with candy 😂😂
I bought it for 20$ Only!!
For all of these kinds of waxes, must you remove any previous waxes? ie.; wash your car with dish soap to strip
Looks good. I use Gtechniq crystal serum light and then follow up 24 hours later with exov4 and it looks insane
The Car Valeting Channel I love using Gtechniq
@@MrNacho1955 exov4 in top is definitely a major step up
I just used it on a black 1997 ford mustard but I should have used panel wipe before applying. I will find out! but I hope it holds up i did compound and polish the paint so it should be okay
You think you can just use this by itself? Thinking of getting this for my black ram but applying like 2-3 coats on it. Not sure how I’ll know when to put a new coat on. And when that happens will I have to strip the paint clean just to put on a new coat?
What the best wax/coating for a New truck
Great review. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
You are awesome. Love the Giulia
Just ordered this for my Giulia after watching :)
do the prep and let us know how you like it
Toppppp.. Brazilian here.
Nice Quadro !! I've been using Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic on an M3 and E350. I want to try this product but I just purchased a new bottle of Meguiar's. Meguiar's is doing very well, but I apply a coat .... every day almost. Not that I need to; is just my obsession. WIth that said, I'll be up for Hydroslick in about 2 weeks ;) Nice vid. Safe drives.
I was not a big fan of meguiar’s hybrid…it did not last for me even with all the prep clay ect… how do you like it?
Did you do another video as to longevity of protection on this product? A lot of the online reviews say maybe a couple of months at most. Love the car 👍👍
i have posted updates on my Instagram since i shot this video
Can you use this with the CG Blacklight? Would the HydroSlick be used after the blacklight to seal?
I recently bought this , and followed the directions to a t , hard to remove 😮
Hello, 1st video of yours I have come across and I did enjoy it. Would you recommend this over CQuartz or other ceramics?
I have used the Cquartz UK on several cars and so far very impressed compared to all others i have tried and its fairly inexpensive to buy. give it a shot its really good stuff. the Hydroslick will not be a replacement for a typical ceramic coating i think its really geared towards a long lasting wax sealant more than anything and it can be used over existing ceramic coatings and is easy to use so its a win win.
@@autofanaticcars Thx for taking the time to respond
Can I use Hydroslick on top of Butter Wet Wax?
Nice would you say this is more hydrophobic than colllinite?
What product did you use when you clay the car with the girots machine
What should you avoid after using this ? Handwash only or can you run through a carwash live in the Midwest small garage sometimes I just can't handwash
What do you do to prep the car? Could you guide me 🥲
That's the slick that does the trick 😀🌞😍❤👍💎😊
I’ve just came across this review video after buying a bottle of this, yes I know I should have done things the other way around but nevertheless thank you very much for a honest opinion and a proper review of this. My car is brand new and in black so I’m desperate to get this applied now after seeing your video! Subscribed just after the first video 👌🏻
I have a question for you. Can you apply this on top of protection film? If so, how do you prepare the paint before any application?
Thank you for your video!👍🏼
Hi i would contact CG to ask about prep over PPF as im sure there are specific methods that many will prefer to use.
Is this only for use with cars that have a ceramic coating?
Question. This only if car coated or is okay to use if after claying?
wow that looks sick!
Enjoyed the video! Ive read and watched a lot of material on Chemical Guys. Ive always been a car enthusiast and Ive always had nice cars. This may sound a little odd, considering the big names youre applying, but I had bought a truck that was too big for the garage. It had to stay outside and I began looking for a protective wax that was long lasting. I was a little hesitant considering a lot of expensive big name products that I have used in the past, but after careful consideration I used Turtle Wax Ice paste wax. I have to say that its been fantastic! I would apply it in the spring, once during the summer and then once more in the fall before it got too cold. I then only use touchless car washes during the winter and I am telling you that there is beading all the way to spring when its time to apply a new coat. Ive been really surprised. Dont know if youve ever used it, but dont knock it till you try it. By the way, what kind of car blow dryer were you using or recommending? Thanks and ill be looking for your other content.
the blower was an E-go. I may get one myself!
@@michaellloyd4413 Appreciate it. Looks like it works really good.
So this prevents water spots?
Can you put it on top of PPF? Thanks
Will it work on chrome wheels??
Getting this in a couple of days
So do I just buy this stuff wash my car and apply it or do I need to do something else first
Chemical Guys hyper slick. very easy to use. Last 2x longer than Meguiar's Ultimate wax.
What kind of pressure washer do you use?
Do I need to clay bar the car first and then add ceramic coat? What about polish?
Just tried it. Excellent product
Great to hear!
Amazing!
should i use black light and then this?
Hello, Many thank for this nice movie ( Nice car also )
I am using Fusso wax, as you said it is not so easy to remove it, but the durability is a must. At least 4/5 months with weekly cleaning.
It is probably the best wax that i have never bought.
I am really exiting to see what will be the durability of this new CG HydroSlick Si02. Waiting for you feedback.
Thank you
But I still got about 5 different waxes quite possibly a lifetime supply already!
Does this stuff clean as it goes on? Cause I cleaned my car 100% no grime at all and after few weeks I seen I had a bunch of swirl marks all over. I even used brand new towels on it. If it's like a cleanser wax, then it must have broke loose all the very fine grime and got caught in my towel😫
My car has ceramic coat. Can i still apply hydroslic for additional protection and to last long the ceramic coat?
Good job 👏👏👏👏
Can I put over Meguiars liquid wax?
What's the difference between HydroSlick and JetSeal ? I am kind of confused
how does it hold up compared to something like Nufinish?
Can you make review video for “TLC” the last coat?
Nice. Looks like good stuff...
i doubt it will last 12 months but even if it lasted 2-3 its worth it for how quick and easy it is. lets do your car next
@@autofanaticcars its cg i have a hard time believing anything they say any more. i use there soap cuz it isnt any worse than pepboys specials and i still have some left and i have some of there wax laying around. After they refused to answer my questions and blocked 2 instagram accts i switched turtle wax and what ever the detail suply store next town over has i got some colonite and jescar from there.
Do you think it could replace the use of jet seal ?
no but you can certainly use it on top.
I put 2 layers on my car after a 2 step polish and clay bar and after hyperslick the results were incredible I use to die by the Meguiars ultimate paste wax but this stuff out performs it by along shot. I would highly recommend it
Would be okay to use a buffer on a slow speed to apply as well instead of the pad.
That's like impossible to do in places like all of fl and Seattle cuz it rains all the damn time.🤦🏾♂️
Definitely gong to give this a shot
do proper prep I think you'll be impressed, I posted an IG video last night with my car sitting in the POURING rain once again and the water is still beading and sheeting off the nose of my car, head over to see that video clip when you get a moment my IG link is posted in my video description above
So I just applied this to my M5 after watching this video and I like it, but I really want to add a layer of Collinite for an extra layer of protection and to get the depth in color (my car is solid black). You think that's a dumb idea? Would I be better off stripping the hydroslick - they claim you can add a wax on top without an issue. I just trust you out of every other channel and would love your feedback.
Thanks!
Adding collinite will not give you more protection. Also this product probably has better hydrophobic properties so adding collinite on top will reduce beading. Just stick to one
