Plus - without him, most of them would never have made a lucrative living or been on telly in the first place. If you don't believe me, ask John Virgo...Jimmy White....Ronnie o'Sullivan. I love seeing this. I had no idea he still played. That's fabulous.
      I watched him win the World Championship in 1975 in Australia, against Eddie Charlton. A week-long final, with Charlton enjoying a huge home-ground advantage (including playing on a type of table Reardon was unfamiliar with). Charlton was potting like a machine all week, and Reardon had to make an awesome comeback on the last day to win. I'm Australian but I was absolutely delighted for him. Best position player I ever saw, until Ronnie came along and raised the art to the stratosphere (with Ray's help).
      If you can be bothered, next time you see him, give him my best and tell him that match is one of the highlights of my life in snooker.

      Probably the only 2 scouser people could listen to and understand the same time.english is my second language(pretty much first now)coming from Hungary. I lived in Scotland since 2008 it's 2024 now.i thought I had some English before Scotland and tuned out I can't have a decent conversation with literally anyone from Scotland,except sometimes when i met the odd person who had the kind of a neutral,well articulated accent that everyone understands.then I've heard the Liverpool accent......first I thought it must be a piss-take thinking no human being has this accent naturally,obviously I was wrong. Hearing JP talking I hear the scouser twang but it isn't as strong at all.learning English as I was getting older made me realise how versatile language dialects are sometimes even under the same post code.i never knew how can one language be so different depending on where you lived as in Hungarian you don't have these vast differences in accents within the same language.....it made me appreciate different dialects,accents,cadence and different manners of talking .....having said all that....Liverpool accent is fucking horrible 😂

    • @Lily_The_Pink972
      @Lily_The_Pink972 Před 21 dnem +2

      @attilaszakacs1304 SOME Liverpool accents, eg John Bishop are awful. My mum was Liverpudlian so I grew up knowing the accent. I was brought up in Salford, next to Manchester...different accents. British accents are definitely influenced by to socio-economic status and education. The Geordie accent is the closest to the old English of 1000 or more years ago.
      I have relatives in Scotland who I visit each year and have to retune my ears so I can understand the lingo! I'm not surprised you had difficulty! Well done!

    Stephen, I love the channel.
    Hearing life stories while learning not to take snooker so seriously is great for unwinding. My theory;
    Perfectionists need snooker. The green and felt keeps them calm and the skill level needed tells you quickly if you're good or not.
