The wing defenders are taught to take the wing pass away. Does they wing player on offense lift above the wing defender to receive the pass or what would be the secondary option?

Coach Hurley said: "If they take the wing defender away, the backside cutter needs to cut to the short corner before the wing entry. Then the short corner player should be open. Or just tell your wing player to be an athlete and get open."

Is there a reason why on the reversal you cut the wing and the slot for the continuity? Rather than the person already in the corner and the wing?

Coach Hurley said, "The person in the corner I would be running corner to corner and the wing would go wing to wing. We want players to move to different spots so the defense lose track of players"

That’s what I thought. I tried something similar this year. the corner person would go opppsite wing, and the wing would be the opposite. So when they cut through they essentially switch spots. One chases the other. We’ll see how it goes.

@@fea1990 Exactly. Let me how it goes!

Why would x1 and x2 come ou tthat far? Are you really going to shoot 10 feet deep?

The Best 1-2-2 Zone we face uses Circle Rotations on the Top.
That Weakside Wing Ritates all the way over and Stays Balside and the other 2 up Top readjust bask to the eakside on a ball reversal. They would eat this alive. But they, like us are ZONE Speciaists and it isn;t just something we got to for a change up. We are 1-3-1 speciaists and a Top 5 Defense in our State every year.
We just don;t get players with good Speed in our program. We would be medicore at best trying to play Man. And they are a similar school to us. Last year they were State Runner-Up and kocked us out inthe Semis.
This year we will either face the defending Champs inthe 1st Round OR a team from their Region that can BEAT the Defending State Champs They have everyone back yikes.
AND everybody knows it wil be US coming out of our Region because the rest ot the teams in our Region SUCK right now. SO they could start Scouting us NOW knowing it will not be wasted time.
