- Sometimes a customer will ask us to make something that we would never have made on our own. Things like…a Championship Ring Display Case shaped like a Baseball Home Plate!
Join us today as we walk through the entire process of making this very cool project. As always, with basic materials and simple, everyday tools, we do all we can to build something as true to plan as possible.
In the end, this was a fantastic project. Not all that difficult, but packed full of Woodworking 101 type skills that really tested our ability to remember it all. Lots of miter cuts, drill press technique, tons of angles and speed square work. A super refresher project for you seasoned woodworkers out there, and a great skill-builder for any beginners.

Followed these steps and mine came out great. I raised the top shelf up so cards and baseballs would fit on the second row.
Thanks! Gonna tackle this. Maybe gonna add another shelf since my daughter already has more rings than that would hold (yes she's an addicted catcher..lol). Glad I found your video
Go for it!
I really enjoy watching your process here. Learning a lot.
Awesome, thank you!
Love it!!
Thank you!!
Great video. We live over in Ila. Glad I came across your channel.
Awesome! Thank you!
What size board did you use for the frame and shelves?
That's crazy , the first video I searched for making one and it has my last name on it too.
LOL
Nice video. How did you do the seams on the baseball? All freehand?
Yes sir. We try to hand paint as much as we can.
Caulk and paint makes a carpenter what he ain’t
:) You got that right!
Is that 1 x 4 you used for frame and shelves? What type of wood did you use?
That's correct. And we used good ol' pine. :)
Did you rip down those 1 x 4s? They look narrower than 3 1/2 when I compare the board to your finger length. Course you might have long fingers😀
I did indeed. Not sure if I mentioned that in the video. Sorry!
I am in Colbert, how much do you charge for these? Possibly even un painted if needed without back applied if not painted?
Hey Ashley. I just wanted to make sure to reply to you. I think we connected via email, right?
What angle did you use for the shelves?
I'm assuming you mean, for the outside angle on the bottom shelf. If so, that's a 45 degree angle. Actually, the entire thing is nothing but a collection of 90, 45 and 22.5 degree cuts...all stop points on most miter saws. Hope that helps! :)
I wanted to know if you sell the plans for the home plate ring holder?
Hey Andrew. Yes! Folks have asked and asked, but I have never created a "formal" set of plans. But I have put the measured sketches that I use on our site, up for just $0.99. Here's a link. Let me know how your project goes! - applevalleyfarmga.com/product/765139
Would like a estimate of possible. Thanks
Awesome. Mike, do me a favor and reach out to me via email or thru the contact us form on our website. We get so many requests, it's gotten impossible for me to keep up with everyone, here. Thanks!
Do you sell plans for this?
Thanks for the email, Ron. Just replied to you. Thanks!
@@AppleValleyFarmGA would like to know as well
What are the measurements?
That's a complicated answer. ;) Shoot me your email to info@applevalleyfarmga.com and I'll send you scan of my sketches with measurements for everything. How's that?
@@AppleValleyFarmGA could I get them too?
@@AppleValleyFarmGA or could I possibly get the sketch up plans if you ever made them?
@@AppleValleyFarmGA is the email address still valid? I would like to see the sketches with your measurements as well if possible! Thank you.
