He has also become globally renowned as an author, pilot, broadcaster, brewer, businessman, sportsman, spoken-word performer, screenwriter and internationally successful solo artist.
His first solo album, Tattooed Millionaire, was released in May 1990, with its follow-up Balls To Picasso four years later (1994). It was on this second album that Dickinson first started working with guitarist Roy Z and despite a one album hiatus, he was joined again by him for all his subsequent solo studio albums - Accident Of Birth (1997), The Chemical Wedding (1998) and Tyranny Of Souls (2005).
Always on the back burner was a desire to create another solo musical project and in 2021 Dickinson finally had the opportunity to focus on that anew. He turned once more to Roy Z to work on some unfinished ideas together and that rapidly became his forthcoming seventh studio album: The Mandrake Project - Hudba

This song got me through PTSD therapy. Many Maiden songs are about strength and courage but this song. To face the worst and battle it and dig all that old poison out. Thanks Bruce.
OK, if you like that story i have a better one for you Spring 1985 I was assigned a book report for English Class. It was 30% of the grade. It was on Rime of the Ancient Mariner. It made no sense. After a couple of weeks of listening to me whine endlessly about how I'm going to get an "F" and my life will be over my super cool girl friend makes me go over these friends of hers house.
Played Powerslave by Iron Maiden, just released so hot the ink wasn't dry on the label. Last track side two: Rime of the Ancient Mariner. The sweetest sounds I had ever heard. Copied that onto a cassette tape and played it over and over again. I turned in 15 carefully reasoned pages based on a song by Steve Harris not a wierd poem by Samuel Coleridge. Got an "A". Been an Iron Maiden fan ever since. So was Cyndi. Powerslave and Piece of Mind were our jam that Spring and Summer. Dancing in the moonlight to Wasted Years blasting from the car stereo. Unique sound and sentiment.

This is the first metal song I ever listened to in my life. I think I was 15? I'm a little ashamed to admit that my teenage self thought metal was just noise, thus discrediting an entire genre that is as diverse as the cultures of the world. Then I stumbled upon this. Today I'm happy to listen to industrial, power, folk, symphonic, and even some death metal. But this track will always stay in my heart.
I love the mellow intro into ripping metal and teasing reggae for a bit before back to the heavy ending. A masterpiece. Dickinson rules.

Eu ouvia essa música na minha adolescência,atualmente eu tenho 35 anos de idade,eu estava vivendo o meu casamento com a minha esposa,eu precisei passar por uma cirurgia para tirar tumores mauditos que apareceram inesplicávelmente na área do meu sistema nervoso central no meu cérebro,depois de passar por cirurgia eu fiquei 21 dias em coma,quando eu acordei do coma,eu descobri que toda essa situação obrigou eu e a minha esposa a cancelar os nossos planejamentos para a gente realizar o nosso sonho de ter o nosso filho ou a nossa filha,isso dói inesplicávelmente,mas quando eu consigo ouvir e cantar músicas como essa,eu consigo ter um pouco de alívio dessa guerra e consigo me sentir um pouco fora desse pesadelo inesplicável....
