LYRICS
Can you remember, remember my name?
As I flow through your life
A thousand oceans I have flown
Oh, and cold
Cold spirits of ice
Ah, ah, all my life
I am the echo of your past
I am returning, the echo of a point in time
And distant faces shine
A thousand warriors I have known
Oh, and laughing
As the spirits appear
All your, all your life
Shadows of another day
If you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand
We must remain
Perfect strangers
I know I must remain inside this silent well of sorrow
A strand of silver hanging through the sky
Touching more than you see
The voice of ages in your mind
Oh, is aching with the dead of the night
Oh, precious life
Your tears are lost in falling rain
And if you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand
We must remain
Perfect strangers

Anyone listen this Song 2024 too ?
Listening To it Now 🤘
Why no? I like them and listen Purple often
I'm here you in 2024 my fellow brother in metal!
Me, because my parents were complete sadistic but I survived being normal with heart Soul Spirit

Im 98 and still jam to this song. My wife died 33 years ago and this was our song. I miss you Agnus. See you soon

Anyone listening in 2024?
Get real😮
While there's still a pulse i'm listening to Deep Purple.
April 2024. Still powerful as ever. This classic can ONLY be played beyond cranked. ❤
I've got it😊 My neighbours are enjoying this track too🤣
This goes to 11....
Anyone still listening in 2022? This song is nearly forty years old and still gives me goosebumps, quite simply a classic rock masterpiece.
you bet, the "crap" of today will last about 40 days...
Absolutely, I'm still listening on 1-25-2022. Great song to start another year, and another year, and another year.........*
Я слушаю и буду слушать!!!
You are not alone !!!!!
@@ape2reginaforse504 Nope, not even close. Many, many folks very much like Deep Purple. I always thought DP was outstanding. DP's Machine Head Album is incredibly good......... Thumbs-Up!! *
Ian Gillan - lead vocals
Ritchie Blackmore - guitar
Jon Lord - organ, keyboards
Roger Glover - bass, synthesizer
Ian Paice - drums
So many fond memories. Thanks for the awesome music.
I use to say "THE GOLDEN FIVE" !!!!..........
😍😍😍
@Panos Xaitagian - the next Golden Five was Blackmore on lead guitar, Ronnie James Dio lead vocals, Tony Carey on keyboards, Cozy Powell on his double bass drum kit and Jimmy Bain on bass guitar forming Rainbow after DP broke up - their Rising album is fakking brilliant!
@Northern Wealth Anarchy Perimeter
I agree!!!
thanks really
I consider this Deep Purples best song. Because it has a heavy beat, heavenly guitar, and it's just a kick ass song.
This and Stormbringer are probably my favourite Deep Purple and gives a nod to both Ian Gillan and David Coverdale's stint with the band. That being said the beginning of Child In Time Ian Gillan's vocals give me chills.
This song is crazy fucking good 😮
Love this tune dearly but Child In Time is right up there too!
This is one of my favorites as well, right up there with Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming
It's the greatest song by anyone PERIOD
Great song ! Who is still listening to Deep Purple 2024?🤘🏼💀🎙️🎸
I said the old 1
I am!
Me. I am. And will be in 2025, and beyond.
66 year young Kentucky guy jammin with one of my favorites. This song will forever play in my head. Cheers to all ...
Still since back then to now. Helps me remember my brother who has passed away. Deep Purple was one of his favorite bands.
I always thought Gillian’s voice was one of the best rock voices ever.
It is and always will be
That's because it is.
Yes, definitely.
And, growing up with both "Made in Japan" AND "Made in Europe", I also fell in LOVE 💕 with The Voice of The Singer of "You Fool No One!" 😊 on that Amazing Live Album!, David Q. Coverdale, VIII 😳 😊--with that Deep, Rich, And Wonderfully **Soulful Voice!** 😊
I also Enjoy and Highly Recommend Deep Purple's 🟣💜 studio album, "Burn!" 👏 👏 👏
... with the only Caveat with All of this being that I Usually Can't Stand Glenn Hughes's Screaming voice.
For example, when David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes sing duets--with Glenn Hughes taking the high voice--I AM ALMOST ALWAYS **GREATLY ANNOYED BY HUGHES'S SCREAMING!** 😡
@@bluewater3783oh yeah, Coverdale has an amazing voice as well and was a perfect replacement for Gillian. I do find it funny that Coverdale had to go and mess with his face back in the 80s, he went from boyish charm to old man trying to look young. But his voice stayed on point!
Ian Gilkan and Ronnie James Dio had THE best voices
Mr Ritchie Blackmore is true genius...
And the John Lord...R.I.P.
Deep Purple is the perfect storm.
It's JON Lord, why is it so difficult for some to understand that?
@ Clive - give Stamatis a break. I wonder how you'd go with Greek spelling and pronunciation?
Hey..it's nothing to do with Greek spelling and pronunciation you moron
It's the name of a very famous musician, which if he is a fan of the band, he must have seen in print many times.
It's a 3 letter word for fucks sake, not really difficult whatever your nationality.
Notice he spelt Ritchie Blackmore perfectly, but couldn't manage the same with JON?
I put it down to ignorance rather than language difference.
You put your head back up your ass and go back to sleep now.

@jonathan deavey thank you Jonathan. I stand corrected. It was a long time ago and I sometimes get it wrong. You are obviously a real fan of purple. Rock on!
@jonathan deavey he listened to it at a gig in 67 before it was recorded in studio. now shut up jonathan.

Blackmore is one of the greatest guitar players of all time. His style is unique and utterly amazing.
Hell yes, I love Highway Star and the solo is a masterpiece.

One of the best comeback albums of all time. Glad Blackmore and Gillian put their egos aside for a while.

20240312: dieses Stück kann man immer wieder hören. Rockmusik ist immer klasse; und die alten Stücke sowieso.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻
My very first intro to this masterpiece, my older brother was blasting it from his upstairs bedroom. Totally mesmerized, I sat at the bottom of that staircase, getting goosebumps from a song for the first time...I was 6 years old, and that was almost 40 years ago. Still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. I'm forever grateful to my brother for passing down his knowledge of all things great, especially his kick-ass taste in music.
Мне было 15лет, когда я впервые услышала deep perpl,благодаря моему любимому двоюродному брату. Сейчас мне 60 и я не устаю восхищаться этой группой.

GOOD TASTE RUNS IN THE FAMILY !!!
GREETINGS FROM MEXICO !!
Ritchie's face actually lights up when he smiles. He should do that more often. :)
Tallyca Hamulhetru agreed!! He’s such a sour puss lol!
He won't
Ritchie was sweet. End of discussion.
I like his Smile 👍
maybe he does and you dont know.....
Jon Lord gave Deep Purple its cool hip distinctive sound. And paved the way for what we know now as the synthesizer being the most important instrument in a band. The front and center of it all. Jon Lord was the grandfather of DJ's.
And then Rush came out. They also work with synth esp Geddy Lee
Bernie Worrell. Lord mostly used Organs. Both are incredibly influential, but Worrell is tip top. Synth basslines and synth focused music came from him
Mother bought me this album in 85' because i begged her relentlessly for months. Love it.
talk about a comeback song! One of thier very finest works
First time listening to this song since my brother passed. I see him singing this song through the tears in my eyes as if he was right in front of me now.
R.I.P. Vin, love and miss you brother!
10-20-23 Happy Birthday in Heaven Brother
Sorry !!
Sorry for your loss.
That sucks. Some day this band will walk up to you two and ask him to sing it again.
Stay strong man. We're all going to the same place.

Out of all of the 70's bands that had comebacks in the 80's this one was the most surprising to me. I'm glad they put the differences aside and gave us this classic. Definitely a highlight of the 80's.

I don't know about everyone but I grew up in this Era, listening to the greatest rock music ever made the bands were on such a roll with music, the albums, the tours all of it was so so good. I feel blessed to have experienced it all. I'm 62 years old and still can't get enough of it. Rock music of the 60s and 70s will live in my heart forever!!!
53 and I love the fact I was 8 when the king died and found out from my dad he had a really old 78 collection of shit like Elvis 78 release of thats all right and slim Whitman so from 77-81 I started listening to all fifties artists then just before he died I got into the beatles and then just before he died in 81 a friend had the diary album and that's all it took to get a 12-14old into everything from nugent Cooper cream Jimi zep sabbath yes purple rainbow to motley ozzy wasp tallica megadeth maiden u2 and then came the nineties which was kinda dull musical time except of course for the two woodstocks but still had aic soundgarden white zombie Manson maybe but after that stopped listening to much if the new scenes after the nineties but since I have CZcams alot of good music is being made and the older vands as well as the new are really come out with some kick ass jams thinking the next ten years will definitely be ODE TO ROCK
Couldn't of not saided any better
I'm 68 and still crank it up to this song .
At 52 I ruminate daily on thoughts that I have either died and moved onto some sort of purgatory, or I am an amnesiac alien visitor from a land that resembles this place but a world with a soul. This foreign land here seems like a land with out the soul. The parallel universe and quantum explanation also helps me with my anxiousness that I may be just dealing with schizophrenia
