    How do you know that you will need this number ligand to bond with central cation

      At the general chemistry level we'll either tell you how many ligands bond with the central atom or we'll provide you with simple rules (in my class I just tell students how many ligands there are, or make it known via chemical formula or name).

      We use General Chemistry 4th Edition by McQuarrie, Rock, and Gallogly. Glad the videos are helpful!

      @@sangitakar6836 Unfortunately I don't have a PDF version. You can search for ISBN 978-1891389603 and you might get a good deal on a used book, since the book has been out for a while.
