The time has come for Disney's Hollywood Studios to host their last Star Wars Weekends for the year and they will not go quietly out in the night but end the event with a very popular Star Wars star. This last weekend of the event will feature the voice of Yoda himself, Frank Oz. But he isn't just famous for his role as Yoda but is also a noted director and the award-winning performer behind lovable Muppets Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal and more.
"And thats when I knew he loved me and i loved him"-Frank Oz at Jim henson's memorial
Only a couple people can claim to voice some of the most beloved characters in pop culture history! Miss Piggy, Yoda, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Sam the Eagle, Grover, Bert, Cookie Monster, and many more! He's a legend!
Whatever, Mary Sue.
Frank oz is one of my heroes. One of the greatest days of my young life was the day I went to Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios in Florida. I'd been pestering my mom to take me ever since I heard that Frank would be a guest there. I wasn't even a Star Wars fan at the time. During the parade which headed the event, all the stars rode by on little convertibles, waving to the guests. When Frank rode past in a black car, I waved, but all the while, with the thought "He's not gonna wave back." Lo and behold, Frank turns towards me, gives me the happiest smile in the world, like an old friend who will recognize you after years and years apart, and waves back. I was so awestruck, I had to go to a bathroom so I could fangirl-cry in peace. Later in the day I attended "A Conversation with Frank Oz", and sat there just in awe of the wonderful funny and honest man who had given me the memory of a lifetime.
R.I.P Star Wars weekends. *sobs*
You were loved.
+Nicole Harris Weekends may be gone... but the full time world is coming.
Yoda has always and will always be my favorite Star Wars character. Frank is a legend. :)
Love Yoda! This is an awesome experience for any Star Wars fan
Jones Family Travels he was in The Last Jedi!
He sure has changed our lives.Teaching us in so many fun ways on how to learn and grow.
Future Disney legend. Disney make it happen.
Pyro-Ice Queen Wait he isn't a Disney Legend yet? This is inexcusable!
he doesn't need a disney approval to call him a legend. and also disney is just a corporate whiich gives awards not for talent but for brand awareness
Growing up Grover, especially his superhero alter ego, was always my favorite Muppet on Sesame Street. I still have a stuffed toy of him that I got when I was two years old. I don't think there isn't a child from past, present or future generations that hasn't or won't be entertained by Frank Oz in some form of capacity.
Frank Oz is a living legend.
Frank Oz: a lovingfull profesional who entertained and touched many people around the globe.
It sucks that Star Wars Weekends is over. But you have to admit, they certainly went out with a bang with the biggest stars from the Saga.
To me, Fozzie is his greatest creation.
That was a fantastic, memorable interview with Frank Oz.I would love to have been there but this was the next best thing and it was only possible because you took the time to share it. Thank you very much
This is fantastic! Thanks so much for posting!
Frank oz is is a sesame Street and even a muppets legend
Don't forget his role in Spies Like Us!
a great yoda he makes, agree with me do you?
A great Yoda he is not. The definitive Yoda, he is.
yes
Agree with you, I do. A legend, he is.
Correct,you are
I was there on that very day! I was on the 3rd row to the right. It was AWESOME!!! 😝
I’m so glad they put the Muppets in here oml so awesome
2:54 this music makes me cry
I wish i was there!!!
class act! total class act!
I keep picturing Ratchet asking these questions.
I love this interview. I really like his role in monsters Inc. and inside out.
I really wanted to go and meet Frank Oz this is the 4th time I missed Star Wars Weekends 😞
"no one works in a vacuum" what about astronauts?
God bless You Frank zo hope one day to meet you.
Frank oz not zo
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a classic. Watched it other night. It's like the 80's romantic naive charm with a funny story wrapped up in one movie.
He reminds me of Jeff Goldblum :-)
He'll be in a theatrical movie as "Ratchet." He and Oz both play at least one furry little creature.
I love it. the Jedi Zen Master of YODA. I am One with the force, all is calm. What ? Last piece of candy? MINE! This is the YODA we don't know.
So jealous right now
Close your eyes and imagine Ratchet talking.
Mark looks so old but the rest of the Star Wars cast.love Luke sky walker
Such a professional looking set-up, not to mention the big build-up to him coming on stage, a great star, yet...
no damn spotlight/s??? WTF.
Ughhhhh.
Is the guy on the right the voice of Tidus of Final Fantasy X?
James Arnold Taylor yes
to the geeky interviewer in dirty tennis shoes for God Sakes,,,, "I AM OZ ,THE GREAT AND POWERFUL,,,,!!! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU,,, MILK TOAST!!!!!!"
That would be James Arnold Taylor. You know, the voice of Obi Wan Kenobi. And those are clean sneakers, not dirty tennis shoes. Trust me, JAT would never wear dirty tennis shoes to an interview or anywhere else.
The wizard of Oz._.
odd seeing James Arnold Taylor and Frank oz together.
No offence .but I think we need a remaster of these earily star wars movies. They deserve a good remaster
So everything's ok now between Disney and Frank Oz? I heard he is very displeased with the way Disney handled the Muppets....And I would have to agree...the free spirit of Jim Henson has become a soulless commodity of a multinational..although Henson himself of course lighted the fire by first approaching the house of mouse for a sellout..I have never understood that..seemed so totally counter-intuitive
Disney use to be the creative forces that Jim Henson and Frank Oz and crew were.. now Disney too big.. they resell what has already been done.. instead of creating new things
#putghostyodainepisode8
Spoiler
He was there!!
He doesn't do the voice :-(
Thanks I don't need to watch now 😅
I remember him saying in an interview once that he doesn't like to do his character voices in public like that because it feels too gimmicky.
savedfaves Of Yoda? In the films.
Put a pair of nice shoes on with that suit. Absolute disaster.
I think they compliment the suit. And seeing that it's Disney World, comfortable footware reigns over style.
Didnt even do one single voice :(
I think that's one of the reasons Frank retired from puppeteering. He can't do the voices anymore. The only one he feels comfortable doing is Grover.
Plus, Eric Jacobson took over the roles.
Because it's not respectful when he doesn't have the puppet on.
