    The time has come for Disney's Hollywood Studios to host their last Star Wars Weekends for the year and they will not go quietly out in the night but end the event with a very popular Star Wars star. This last weekend of the event will feature the voice of Yoda himself, Frank Oz. But he isn't just famous for his role as Yoda but is also a noted director and the award-winning performer behind lovable Muppets Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal and more.

    Only a couple people can claim to voice some of the most beloved characters in pop culture history! Miss Piggy, Yoda, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Sam the Eagle, Grover, Bert, Cookie Monster, and many more! He's a legend!

    Frank oz is one of my heroes. One of the greatest days of my young life was the day I went to Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios in Florida. I'd been pestering my mom to take me ever since I heard that Frank would be a guest there. I wasn't even a Star Wars fan at the time. During the parade which headed the event, all the stars rode by on little convertibles, waving to the guests. When Frank rode past in a black car, I waved, but all the while, with the thought "He's not gonna wave back." Lo and behold, Frank turns towards me, gives me the happiest smile in the world, like an old friend who will recognize you after years and years apart, and waves back. I was so awestruck, I had to go to a bathroom so I could fangirl-cry in peace. Later in the day I attended "A Conversation with Frank Oz", and sat there just in awe of the wonderful funny and honest man who had given me the memory of a lifetime.

    Growing up Grover, especially his superhero alter ego, was always my favorite Muppet on Sesame Street. I still have a stuffed toy of him that I got when I was two years old. I don't think there isn't a child from past, present or future generations that hasn't or won't be entertained by Frank Oz in some form of capacity.

    So everything's ok now between Disney and Frank Oz? I heard he is very displeased with the way Disney handled the Muppets....And I would have to agree...the free spirit of Jim Henson has become a soulless commodity of a multinational..although Henson himself of course lighted the fire by first approaching the house of mouse for a sellout..I have never understood that..seemed so totally counter-intuitive

  • @oaw972
    @oaw972 Před 4 lety +1

    Disney use to be the creative forces that Jim Henson and Frank Oz and crew were.. now Disney too big.. they resell what has already been done.. instead of creating new things
