Luke Not Skywalker, Lucas screwed the pooch with the Star Wars story line when he changed the story to make Luke, Vader, and Leia related to each other.
It wasn’t the original version of the story and it wasn’t the 1977 version of the story.
He further took the pooch to pound town when he made the prequel trilogy to appease the fan boys who had to have every @$&%ing thing explained....

The tech guy screwed up what is supposed to be a magic moment, the highlight of the evening ... he had one job, to press the ON button .. blew it ...
The instruction given to that guy is to simply wait for Harrison to hamer on the falcon THEN turn on the switch ... its does not matter if Harrison say extra things before doing it, just freaking follow that simple instruction ... its not Harrison's fault to add in a last minute tribute to Chewbacca Peter Mayhew, its a lovely gesture ... but the switch guy is so rigid that he got confused just because there is an extra spoken words ...
.. but yeah its a bit much to fire someone for this mistake, but still, its such a spoil sport ..
I am a Star Wars fan from 1977 and now. The opening ceremony is very nice at Disneyland for the Galaxy’s Edge.
Wow, I'm just realizing how old these guys really are.. especially seeing lando with a cane.. it's sad they can't all be there but I think we should definitely appreciate those who are still left 😞 though Lucas surprisingly hasn't aged that badly, unless I'm just use to seeing him all white haired and scruffy 🤔
I was in my 20's when it all began and i've aged along with them. Just remember kids, if you live hard you'll probably look hard by 60.
It was cool seeing all 3 of the guys: Luke, Han and Lando. Such a treat!

The technicians messed up bad ... they're supposed to make the Falcon light up and "activate" AFTER Harrison hammer on it with his fist ... this mis-time spoils the magic moment ...

Mark is a good guy, every time you see him he’s charming and healthy looking.
He's not healthy looking at all and looks ragged. He's terribly out of shape and from his stride extremely out of shape and inflexible. His face looks flaccid and pale. He speaks with an issue, likely related to his teeth and likely had problems with false teeth. His hands shake terribly when he talks and holds a microphone ( See many interviews and presentations he has been on in the last 8 years...looks almost like early Parkinson's or a nerve disorder or maybe due the never exercising for decades. And his legs/knees are so out of shape and weak that he cannot even stand up from a kneeling position without his knee almost giving out...and rising slowly due to weak, out if shape leg muscles. ( See Jimmy Kimmel when Hamill was a surprise guest to an actor who always admired him when a kid.). Mark is a mess, physically and it makes me sad he has let himself get so out of shape and unhealthy. But yes, he's a wonderful, charming, ebullient, genuinely great guy.

❤ I was there yesterday and got the opportunity to operate the falcon, it was so much fun. Even at 43, I finally lived my childhood fantasy for those 5 minutes. My brother and I are SW kids at heart it was the best day ever.

Interesting, the whole world is geared around the sequel trilogy - i.e. Rides that are themed with the Resistance and First Order (no mention of the Empire or the Rebellion). Yet instead of brining out John Boyega etc for the opening ceremony, they bring out the original cast. Disney obviously thought they needed to push the new movies over and above everything else in the franchise - but at the same time know who has the real star power (Ford, Hamill etc).
Ironic isn't it? They know who carries the real star power when it comes to promoting a Star Wars theme park to the fans but couldn't buy a clue when it came to making the recent trilogy. If they had, we wouldn't have been cheated out of a reunion with Han, Luke, and the gang and Luke wouldn't have died sitting on his ass on a rock alone on an island. I still can't believe I waited 35 years for that enormous letdown.
Might be because it's the parents, and not the children, who will be buying the tickets to the park, the hotels and the flights. The parents were the ones who had their lives enhanced and changed by the OT and the Prequels.
The franchise will die when the children grow up and realise just how BAD the new characters really are; I doubt many will be taking their kids to watch Ep. 7 to 9, all misty eyed with nostalgia!

They know that Disney has destroyed Star Wars and probably want to get far far away.
It's very ambiguous. George Lucas must hate what Iger and Disney has done to Star Wars. Yet he is one of the biggest Disney shareholders so if Disney gets rich, he gets rich. It's in his best interest that Disney Star Wars makes money. However I'm sure all this is just PR stunt on his part, he does what he's required to do in order to fulfill his contract, his obligations toward Disney. But deep down I'm absolutely sure he despises everything that has happened since he sold Star Wars to Disney. And I also feel sorry for Mark Hamill. Disney has destroyed his legacy as Luke Skywalker and that's shameful. He says here: Luke Skywalker is a symbol for hope and optimism." Now look at Episode VIII.
I think they were there to celebrate the Star Wars that we know and love, despite what Disney has done to it. I strongly disagree with the choices that Disney has made, but that doesn’t mean I hate Star Wars

Maybe they're tired, it has been a long day for them, but I don't feel that same sense of excitement. As if our Rebel friends have been captured and forced to appear on this show. Still, I appreciate they took the time to come here and show up in front of all the fans. They didn't have to, they have given so much to us as is.
I cannot wait to go there early next year.

I suppose it could be possible based on all the rumors of a Tomorrowland overhaul, but realistically, I can't see them taking out every attraction in that land, not even that one.

The good thing, however, about them not being Lucas creations is at least that you can look upon them as fan fiction. In Lucas‘ saga it ends with the defeat of the Empire and the destruction of the Sith in Return of the Jedi. As it says on the Blu-Ray box-set, ”The Complete Saga”. Disney likes the new cast so much it didnt invite them to the opening of a theme park which is based off their new trilogy. It did however invite at least 2 of the original cast that they have killed off and are not mentioned anywhere in the park.. watch your back Lando
