Sometimes higher drops doesn't equate better ride. It's the anticipation of the drop. For me Tower of Terror's random unpredictable drops makes it scary even though the drops aren't that high.

Thought there was a countdown on mega king tower but since we were that high we didn't here a single thing and we were dropped while I was thinking that we were fine. They stalled us up there for a full minute so once we were taken to the top again (the ride has 2 cycles) the thing stops but in reality its moving up slowly. I was thinking i woudnt fall for it so i knew we would have to wait a minute until it drops and then it drops a few seconds later. Arguably the best experience ive had on a drop tower (better than that kiddie drop tower that takes you to an astounding 5 meters).

Falcon’s Fury is probably the scariest ride I’ve been on. I rarely ever get intimidated by rides, but being on that thing made me second guess going on! It’s my favorite drop tower I’ve ever ridden because of how ridiculously tall it is and of course it forcing you to look straight down! What a crazy feeling it is being dropped 300 feet in what’s essentially a belly flop position.

The best for me was Tower of Terror at California Adventure during Halloween at night. They turned off most of the show elements and most of the lights so you would be sitting in complete darkness and complete silence just waiting for it to finally drop you. That was so much fun and it's a shame that it isn't around anymore because of Guardians replacing it.

There were two unique drop towers in Liseberg untill a couple of years ago and they were called Höjdskräcken and Uppskjutet.
Uppskjutet was like a normal drop tower, but backwards, instead of being dropped from the peak, you were shot up from the ground into the sky. So the anticipation came at ground level since you didn't stall at the top.
Höjdskräcken was like Uppskjutet but backwards, instead of being dropped at the top, you were shot down from the top and therefore you had a higher acceleration and with that a higher speed than the usual droptower.
They were closed in 2016 - 2017 and were two of my favorite "drop towers". I'm sure that you would have loved them as well.

Xscream at Waldameer is so underrated. It’s a Larson one, and the restraints don’t come down at all, and it’s just the seatbelts keeping them in place, therefore the airtime is incredible. It terrifies the GP, so there’s no line, resulting in easy marathons

I have trouble with thrill rides. I really do. I get scared really easily and I can’t ride any roller coaster with inversions. The anxiety builds up too much and I hate it. That’s why I like Mission Breakout so much. I love that the drops correspond with the rhythm of the music. If you listen to the music, you know when you’re gonna drop and that makes it less scary. I love that. Guardians also happens to be my favorite Marvel franchise so I think the theming is really great as well.

Here is my say about it, the drop side needs refurbed. The air compressors don't pressurize as much as compared to 15 years ago. Before it used to compress for around 15 seconds and now it compresses for only 3-5 seconds unless they put on faster compressors.

Just a note: detonator, a Larson super shot at Thorpe park does pause at the top, then counts down from 5. Usually, you then drop, but sometimes, you drop on 3 or something, or drop instantly without the countdown, or pause after the countdown, put my personal favourite is when there is an announcement: ‘attention. Detonator is currently experiencing a technical dela- And then you drop. I’ve experienced the last one, and its a real surprise even if you know it’s coming!

Ikaros is my favourite "traditional" drop tower, if you can even call it that. But there's one tower that stands far above anything I've ever experienced. It's the only ride in the world that actually scares me every time I go on it. I'm not even sure you can classify it as a ride.
I'm talking about Sky Tower at Tivoli Friheden in Denmark. This drop tower doesn't even have seats. They give you a helmet and put some straps on you. You ascend in a sketchy elevator. They pretty much hang you up by the straps on you and suspend you over the edge. And then you drop. 30 meters of true free fall until you hit a net. I had to scream but I couldn't because that drop took my breath away in every sense of the word.
It was better than any roller coaster I've ever been on. You should definetely consider going to Denmark the next time you're in Europe.
