He was with his brother when he died in a dinner meeting with 2 belgium investigators, his last words spoken were, "they poisoned me". His prototype has been tampered with an all his patents for the vehicle have long expired. He was silenced because of his inventiveness.

These cars not powered by water, they are powered by electricity. Water is just a medium of energy transfer. You get more energy transferred to the wheels by powering an electric motor directly from the battery than you do by electrolysing water and combusting the resultant hygrogen.

Obviously they’d have to account for the added weight and lose weight in other places for a proper drive. But I feel like if there’s resources to fund it, it might be possible.

The HHO gas, can be used as fuel, its been used in Rockets and burns clean, and essentially steam cleans the engine. All we need is a Solar Panel to passively generate HHO gas for the car when idle like when grocery shopping. And a simple relay system that when the car is turned on switches from Solar output to the Alternators output.
We can gather rain water or simple use water from a spigot..
carry an extra gallon jug of water incase..
and use the vehicles vacuum line to keep a solid reservoir of HHO for ignition..
Diesel and HHO would be the only fuel sources for vehicles we'd need..

I’m just here to post the layman’s explanation: when you burn hydrogen in an engine, it turns into water as it combines with the oxygen in the air. The problem is, you need to get hydrogen in the first place. There’s plenty of it in water, but first you have to burn the water with exactly as much force until it breaks apart into hydrogen and oxygen. Considering you can feel heat energy as it comes off both sides of that reaction, I think everyone can see the problem by this point: you’d need to burn something to get the hydrogen you want to burn, and you’ll never make enough hydrogen to burn more hydrogen indefinitely.

It’s pointless and inefficient. Sure, let’s say we strap on a battery to the system to get it running. Well, you just decreased the output of the battery when said battery could instead be hooked up to the engine.

Storing hydrogen is super simple; just keep it like a gas, compress it however much you need. On the other hand, electricity is really hard to store more of; we can only try to do materials science to find better electrochemical storage mechanisms. Therefore, yes, electric cars would be a joke if hydrogen production was done right.
