    I think it would be neat to place fields between town and industry. It may give really aestetic screenshots with busses. And some stuff for export/chemicals.
    Also, it's probably a point to revise connections between gravel and mudroad.

    Really interesting "trick" did Krejcak on his new realistic season start. He has firestation built, he has vehicles there, but no crue. In fact, he didn´t have people in his game for like 10 episodes :D
    But he used the fact, that fire engines WILL go to extinguish a fire if it occur and they only need people (firemen) present in the building to START extinguishing. So he had simply parked a small van in a depot at the border with set line of "pick people at the border -> ship them to firestation -> go back to that depo" and when a fire appeared, he just sent this to pick up firemen. Worked like a charm, not a single penny spent without need.
    You do not need firestation to be manned up the whole time. Only in time of need.
    Building it "halfway" the way you wanted to will make a perfect sense, by the time those engines would reach the firesite the station would also get supplied with workers and the work till the fire is done, they do not leave after 8 hours (they stop ticking at 7:12 or something like that). You only need to be sure you have enough firetrucks+people to manage it. But 10people van was enough all the time

    Interesting start, I am looking forward to my own business with bauxite. I started recently first "true" realistic mode (tried waiting for it to get out of beta, didn´t make the wait it in the end, so here we go). And of all maps I have in collection I decided to give a proper go to Northern Canada - the map of season 4. It is really nice and with scarce resources it actually forced me to play more real-life. Funny thing is you can only find coal, gravel and ... bauxite at the starting location. No iron or oil.
    City is planned and being built, farms are running (probably too well I found out), building industry is planned as well, ... but I was not sure about how to start a bauxite production. This vid proved it pretty easy, definitely easier than I thought it will be :D I understand why so many people are starting via bauxite in last year.
    And don´t worry, my city has a trainstation planned already, same as bridge over the next valley and even a tunnel bypass of the city station, which will definitely NOT be built soon. But it is prepared - it is called "area planning of urban development". That planning is the sole reason I have prefabs, bricks, cement and asphalt factories planned with pavements, storages and loading stations planned already while nothing is built or being built yet. Just so I know for later.
    I may even send you that map if it will work (currently 100k RUB left is not much, though without a loan yet). Keep this up, I will learn more! :)

    I believe that the construction office bringing workers can take longer than 5 hours (besides from imported workers that can take 12 like you mentioned). If nothing has changed in the past couple of months, they can travel up to 9 hours.

    When you have these small dead-end branch lines like for the coal industry, where you know you're only going to have a couple of trains (low frequency) on a line, you can save a lot of money by making it single-tracked. Double-track everywhere is unnecessary.

    • @bballjo

      Benefit is generally less congestions and more longevity of the setup...single track has its place, and is often better, but it's a lot harder to upgrade later, which is why I opt to build it sooner rather than later.

    One answer, please. Why do you put storage right after mines? I am sure there is a reason, but my setup goes mine-processing-storage and works fine. Thanks in advance and hugeeee thanks for all your work and help, and also for the kind way you talked and explained things.

    • @bballjo
      @bballjo  Před rokem +1

      Pretty simple, and this isn't just true for mines, it's for all industries. What happens if you have workers in the input industry (here it's the mine) and nobody in the production industry (here processing plant)? Nothing, a lot of workers are just sitting idle and wasting time... putting a buffer storage in between means that both industries can operate relatively independent of each other's as long as someone shows up to work every once in a while.

    • @user-zw6uc9ei3j
      @user-zw6uc9ei3j Před rokem

      @@bballjo Understood. If I get you right, people in the source building (mine) work only until the next industry import space is full and then stop because those in mine can't export anymore? But if storage is between they can work longer and not idle? Anyway thanks a lot, friend! I implemented many of your ways and already it helps. Now watching S6 till the end and probably there will be more questions :) Especially about supplying for the city in one place

    As you know the fire stations also need heating, water and sewage.
    Is it also required for the foreign workers? Is their efficiency effected at all, by not providing the water, sewage, or heating?
    I don't know much about the foreign workers at all, I always start with a small village that I grow.

  • @ArmoMan87
    @ArmoMan87 Před rokem +1

    Not sure why people keep doing this. You only need a single-track rail system in the beginning. Double track and sidings come into play with more high traffic rail lines. Trains and rail are very expensive and take time to build. In my opion double rail off the bat is waste of time,money, and resources. Just trying to help.

    • @bballjo
      @bballjo  Před rokem +2

      If you go back to season 1 and 2 you'll know exactly why... Single track is fine if that's all you need, once you add signals to the mud the cranes can need you up pretty bad by blocking parts of the track... Is just easier to plan double rail, especially near customs from the start

      You have to select the border building, select the vehicles & look for "dismantled/unmounted".
      There you'll find the trackbuilding machine.
      It needs to be loaded onto a truck that has enough carrying capacity.
      Build a free vehicle depot, buy a suitable truck and setup a route (similar to a bus route).
      1st stop: border, at pickup select "vehicles" & check "wait till 100% loaded".
      2nd stop is o.c. offload at the rail construction.
      Note: change the working place of the truck used as it will continue to follow the route.
