    Finally, someone covers the cargo area of the 2-door Bronco. I, too, am very bummed about the backseat NOT folding down flush with the rear cargo area. This is a dealbreaker for me on the 2-door model. I went to the dealership and the 4-door, the seats DO fold down somewhat flush/on an angle. I want my dogs to be happy. they would hate that hump on long trips to my cabin. Great video. Thanks!

Unexpectedly had a job change relo'ing me to Seattle, and definitely have a need for a 2dr again (perfect city wheels IMO), so just put in my build order for a JL. This was a perfect walk through. Really wish the fold down process and hump in the Bronco wasn’t such a PITA. That extra space with the seats up allowing for room for that cooler is clutch, but I think I’d still need to drop the seats regularly and that hump seems difficult for dogs to get comfortable back there and makes stacking stuff a puzzle. I also cannot believe Ford didn’t make those seats easily removable.
    Maybe down the road we’ll get another LJ type Jeep, or Ford will make easier seats to work with. But if it was my money today. I’d probably be going with the Jeep just for ease of use.

    I prefer the fold and tumble design Jeep still uses because the seat is still usable as a garage chair or something after you pulled it from your vehicle.
    Great idea for an aftermarket solution for the bronco back seat would be for someone to design a bolt on plate that takes up the foot print of the OE back seats but adds the loops and dimples for a fold and tumble seat to lock onto it. You could probably even do a 50/50 split tumble seats back there so you can pull one and leave the other for more versatility.

I could tell she was not a happy camper bc the seats didn't fold as much as the last SUV. They have slight angle or slope, until you just showed me the bottoms fold up and then you lay the back side down. Whhhaaaat?? Why did I not know this?? I have watched so many bronco videos , I am a day one reservation holder. I thought I knew everything about my truck and then you just taught me something new. I immediately ran down stairs into my garage at 1am to test this out and make sure this was true. Yup the seats fold down even more. My dog thanks you. From having both each do things better than the other, bronco has more space leg room arm room and drives way better on the highway. My old JL feels lighter more movable. And towing with both and Jeep feels sketchy vs the bronco. But not like the bronco should two more than 6000lbs. And the seats are way better than the wrangler. Jeep parts are way cheaper. The early broncos had a lever on the side of the passenger front seat. Pull the lever and the seat slides forward and tips up. It is so easy I could operate it on my mom's bronco and I was 4 years old. Ford intended passengers enter and exit the back seat from the passenger door, not the drivers door so passengers aren't existing onto a street when parallel parked. I suspect the passenger seat of the new bronco slides forward more than the driver's seat as it doesn't have the steering wheel in the way.

  • @ryaandnice

    That is an actual shame about the Bronco seats. Tumble forward AND quick removal are key. Different but the same, we had an old Sienna mini van that had great back seats the tumbled and removed and that van worked harder than most of my friends f150s. We “upgraded” to an Odyssey and the seats suck - very similar design to the Bronco. Not sure what the engineers are thinking on decisions like this.

      Yeah if the broncos seats did what the jeeps did while still keeping the 50/50 split, it’d be perfect.

    Back of the center console to rear cargo of jeep is 46 inches? 3 feet 10 inches?

    • @drivenmad2089
      @drivenmad2089  Před 2 lety

      Yep. Obviously you'll get more space if you measure from the back of the seats. but because the center console sticks back a little that's why its a fairly large difference.

      @@drivenmad2089 thats wild. I've been trying to visualize if a 2 door wrangler with front passenger and back seats taken out, can fit me at 6feet 2 inches for a sleeping platform. Seems like it can but looks now like I'll be shopping for my car camping gear in the ultralight backpacking section! Haha

    Ford failed with the back of the Bronco. They copied the inferior Jeep design of the swing out tailgate. Bronco traditionally had a fold down tailgate, like a pickup truck.
