- In this episode, Noel Salas, steps onto “The 23” by Chemistry Surfboards. Former Professional Surfer, Shaper and Owner of Chemistry Surfboards, Jason Bennett, describes exactly what to expect from this performance hybrid. It’s intended to perform in head high and above surf through below waist-level surf. The outline is that of a standard short board with automatic take off and speed.
The diamond tail surfs shorter, so it fits into the pocket no problem. The belly channels give the board a little “boost” of energy. Noel agrees and says the parallel outline didn’t sacrifice his top-to-bottom surfing, and the rocker and diamond tail made punchy surf super easy and fun.
What makes this board super unique is its all-in-one cluster fin set up. Watch the entire video to see Noel’s favorite construction and the fins he chose and why… Enjoy!

I LOVE channel bottom boards. My all-time favorite was a G & S "Hoy Runnels" channel bottom. It was a "Team" board for Jim Hogan that they retailed at the PB flagship shop (in 1991). Best board ever. 6'6" (I'm 6'2") tri-fin, with a sublimely smooth, squash tail (really nearly a pin). Carbon fiber rails and fins. I still miss that board!
❤ the concept of that board! Jason’s boards are top notch! Thanks for the in depth review!
Jason's the master, haven't been on this particular model. I have multiple Zen 4 Chemistry models changed the game for an old Surfer like me .👍🤙
love chem, thanks for giving them some attention
I thought the box placement initially were for a twinzer setup, but that is pretty cool to have a legitimate thruster to twin transition.
Cool board and finbox options. Clever name, too: twinny (or) three.
Love the look of this board , and to have different side fin placement is a game changer. I have no experience with channels on a small wave board however.
The channels on this board are nice… smooth and fast
Thanks guys, this board looks hot !
been waiting for this since i saw those two 23's in the chem factory when I was picking up my own 23. The board is so good! thanks for reviewing!
Yewww!! Thanks for posting. How do you like your 23?
@@surfnshowreviews7777 Absolutely love it - crazy speed right off the takeoff and incredibly maneuverable. Just slides through turns effortlessly!
Hi noel, looking for rec for 5’10 sb to progress, around the 35l range, low level intermediate, 5’9 180lbs thanks
Would love to see a review of the dhd utopia. Mick Fanning's fastest board!
Love this review, thanks Noel
Noted!
have you tried eny twinzers i wounder what the difference would be could be very interesting that board looks good 🤙
Never tried a Twinzer. I’ve tried a Twonzer from Robert’s. It was fun too
Looks like the twins are set a long way in from the rail, was thinking if he moved the box further backwards be closer to rail and might go better as a straight twin. Whats the rocker?
Good question… not sure what the rocker is. That’s a question for Jason
I wonder if having two Futures boxes so close to each other could weaken the glass job?
Also Chemistry’s trailer fin is one sexy looking nub. Gotta try that set out
Hey Noel - Are these videos from pre or post your hip replacement? Really interested to see how you're finding surfing with the new hip! Thanks for all you do ! Nick.
All of these new reviews are post hip replacement surgery. My full hip replacement surgery was May 4 2022.
Thanks Noel ! Does your surfing feel back to the same as pre-surgery? Still ripping !
@@user-nq3kc2ou7g Way better compared to pre surgery… I couldn’t bend my back leg very much before surgery and I couldn’t get low in my bottom turns. Not to mention the pain I was in while surfing
That’s great to hear ! Cheers for the insight bro !
In the end, it’s the archer and not the bow because Noah rips on anything. Technique first… always. 🏄🏼♂️
Could you review the op3 please?
Who makes that board?

Looks like a squash tail.

Sorry not going to do the Revo. That sled is just so so…
Review Rusty's The Blade.
