Congratulations Brother
bro i'm 24 and i felt like a was behind but when i read the comments i find out that i have all the time to do a lot of things thank you guys
lol that's true, but move towards your goals little by little, don't get too complaisant! Carry on)
I'm 44. I'm going thru AWS Re/start program. 3 month free bootcamp. I'm excited.
Good for you, get it done ✅
same here
Is it still open?
AWS hold multiple boot camps every year. Some of the programs are not free though
Yes the bootcamp I'm in plans to have them all throughout 2024. Look up Brooksource
This is so ON POINT FOR ME! I’m 41 and looking to make that change and this helps clear all doubt. Thank you! And great job! ❤
🙏
Being 43 and learning IT is intimidating
It is but I'm gonna do it God willing.
Great video! I’m in a similar spot. No child yet but young wife. I’m learning python, took AI prompting, next looking at SQL. Basically working my way through the IBM Data Engineering program. My current career isn’t bad but I need to go remote to get back home 😅
Wish you success, go for bigger companies, preferably with gov clearance (if you can get cleared), companies I recommend are Deloitte, Booz Allen, Google, TekSysyems 👍
Thank you so much for sharing your story!
❤❤❤
Thank you for this! I recently made a career change going from biology field to the tech field and I been studying for the Comp A+ certification. Watching your video gives me the drive to stick my daily routine of studying. Thank you!
You’re welcome, keep in mind IT has a big number of professions.., try to find a role that’s exciting for you and with an opportunity to grow. Plan like 10 years ahead and it’ll give you better chance to succeed long term!
You can try this course if you decide to take online IT courses:

Hi
Hi i’m not sure what you mean by freelance, but almost everybody who works with cloud resources can work and will work remotely.
You can probably be a freelancer, especially if you work is not with resources that are classified, or require a security clearance. If you are good at what you do, you can even work for cash, helping other engineer with the workload in your spare time.
You know what I’m saying? Someone who’s got a high-end IT job in the cloud can pay you cash to offload some work to you, like outsourcing, especially if they hold multiple part-time jobs, and they simply don’t have time to cover all the bases.
Thank you ! Interesting to hear how you changed into IT
Great video! Love hearing people's personal story on how they got into IT!
Motivated, thank u infotek
👍
osm))) good stuff! 💯
nice vid! Thank you InfoTek
good for you!
Hi, thanks for sharing your motivational story. I am from non IT background age 42 and want to become cloud engineer. Can you please tell road map for it?
Hi, road map is:
1. Take IT related courses
2. Make sure these courses help you with securing a job (they can help you with showing experience, getting certificates, etc…
3. Build network of people who work in IT (create it related LinkedIn and start communicating with IT engineers)
4. Find people who can actively help you when you’re in IT job market.
Hope this helps,

Your english is great!!
Thank you, I’ve been teaching since I got in the US, it gives me a lot of practice!)
people need this kind of motivation!
👍
yup thanks
No offense dude you look older than my dad and he’s 60 ✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽😁😁😁 anyways joke aside! I’m trying to transition to cloud engineer currently doing test automation. Thanks for this inspirational video I myself is turning 42 next yr.
lol no way.., and good luck with your career in IT!
Lol
Thanks 😊
Welcome 😊
Thanks 🙏
I'm 50 and have no IT background, but would love to break into tech! Any advise you don't mind sharing, please? Many thanks in advance!
hi, the recipe is just take a course of your interest and build a network of people in the area of your interest, these people will help you succeed. Course in person will serve multiple purposes; you will meet teachers that can help you in the future (when you are in your profession field, or go through the interview process, and other students can help you with references, studying, being motivated, etc… Just start working on it and be consistent.

hello ppl, I had to disable and remove comments for awhile since I had a deranged person asking for help in his IT career and then it turned out he was mentally sick. For this same reason I'll not help people by talking directly and/or suggesting a career path. Everything you need to know is basically in the video above.
The vid on what happened with the insane follower is here:

I am making this move for quality of life but it is so hard for me to leave for a role that is not a cloud engineer due to how much I am currently making
I know a pretty inexpensive IT course for Analytics Engineer/SQL Developer, and some other courses with discounted price. So it's all about you finding time to study and get ready for the job market. Let me know if you need this info
@infotek247 I think you misunderstood me. I saw your video and saw how you started at a support role to get to where you are. I am currently a refinery operator in texas. I make 6 figures. The work life balance can really suck and we are treated like second class citizens a lot of the times. But due to my pay I was saying that it would be hard for me to leave my job for a support role and take potentially a 50% paycut. I would gladly take the info for the course if you feel it will help.
@@juliomiranda2131 I was talking about database support/Cloud Engineer, my starting salary was $120K a year plus benefits with AWS. Ummm not sure which IT profession you're interested in.. And I know courses in VA and MD., but most IT jobs pay very well. you can start by looking for IT classes in Texas, I suggest you go to actual class locally instead of taking it online. You'll be more involved in the process and meet people that want to start working in IT. Look for "Analytics Engineer, DBA, SQL Developer courses in your area. These jobs pay well and most of them offer remote positions! Good luck!
@@juliomiranda2131same here my guy. I've been a nuke welder/ maintenance tech for a while and make 6 figures every year but it's rough on my body, away from my family a lot and too many hours. I've always been interested in cyber security. I'm gonna take the next 1-2 yrs, go hard and make that leap. I owe it to myself to do what's gonna make me happy. I know it's gonna take hard work but I think it'll be fulfilling for years to come.

Hey @infotek247 I am older guy interested at all cisco technologies. Is it obsolete or you think network engineers are still needed? I am interested to become in-depth knowledge-able guy about computer networking. Is there a much need in 2023-24 for those? Thank you.
hi, yes it’s going to be Networking/Security, definitely something that’s going to be in demand even more as time goes on. Try to get a cert in this area and apply at Deloitte or BAH or AWS. Good luck,
@@infotek247 thanks for reply, you have a good content, keep it up. I will first try vendor specific - ccna, then see what is most needed, probably security, cheers
A person who works with storage, what's exactly hte job is called ?
Depending which company you work with. AWS call it S3 engineer, S3 means Simple Storage Service. Also, it can be called DBA but you’d work with backups stored on hard drives, etc…
I am 42 and looking for a career change in cloud...
Start with an IT course as explained in the video, and try to build a network of people who can help you to succeed

Im 54 n trying to transition. Im really struggling to learn. I dont have an IT background n no recruiter even wants to consider me. Am I too old and fooling myself?

some of the courses help you in providing proof of work for a couple of years. The reason no recruiter is contacting you is that you need to show at least 4-5 years of experience, otherwise no one wants to work with you. Find a company that can give you proof that you worked pro=bono or something. Teachers at some courses know what to do, just find these people to help you. Good luck!
