- On this expedition we hike into the long abandoned site of an 1890s one-room school. Honorary NQ Explorer Terry is along with his Garrett ACE 300i and we manage to get some nice early 1900s coins out of the site. The place definitely deserves a return visit once the long grass and rampant lantana has receded a bit in the 'dry'. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

such a pleasant little site, little hill by the river with a road out front, I can picture it for sure, and then the magic of metal detecting to bring out the tiny clues. good stuff ! thank you Warren !

The exotic shrub looks like an Oleander, extensively used as landscaping plants in parks & gardens. Thrives in subtropical areas.
Thanks for your ID on the Oleander, all the best and Happy Fossicking! Warren.
@@NQExplorers I meant to say that it's very toxic too. Not the best landscaping choice for schoolgrounds & young kids!!
I have done a few schools. fund raisers and sports day on break up. money was used and passed around otherwise.the kids had nothing unless there were shops nearby.
Thanks for commenting - yep not many kids running around in the 1920s with pockets full of coins - but they would have had the annual school fete on the grounds there. All the best and Happy Fossicking! Warren.
