Metal detecting homesteads in Montana bear country! Ep 215

We are up in the mountains of mountains in Montana looking for old homesteads to metal detect. It is so fun to dig up treasure at these old sites. The relics, old coins and tokens tell the story of how these people lived an what life was like in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The wild west was a colorful time to live in. As you dig these old sites sometimes you see exactly what they were dealing with everything from bandits to bears. Looks like the bears never left!

The thing you said was a main belt buckle is actually a civil war relic. It’s a bedroll buckle cover. I’ve found them at civil war sites and vets homesites.

I had a close encounter with a grizzly when I was four years old, I've been a firm believer in God ever since.
Cool hunt and keep an eye out. Hope there is a part 2. haha
