- The video is almost longer than the ride! I'm riding with Paul and his wife, Margaret on the greenway in Townsend, TN although Margaret checked out as soon as she left the parking area and we didn't see her until it was time to eat hours later!
There had been some wintry weather only weeks before so the path reflected this. Never the less, riding with friends somehow negates superficial inconveniences. let's ride!
Let me assume, that Paul's wife stayed back in the parking lot haha.. she didn't appear to be in a very good mood period. Anyways a really nice video thank you and of course this is the first time I seen this one
Thank You for another nice video, us northern Midwesterners are still waiting for your nice weather. Paul seems like quite the character to ride with....haha
Indy, I sometimes think it's real important to spend time with those who make you laugh..........................; adds enjoyment to the moment! Paul & I shrug our differences while at the same time share our individual* fun of trike riding.
*We don't NEED the other to find comfort within ourselves!
Nice video. My wife and I live in Pigeon Forge. We ride our bicycles around Townsend quite often. The side streets on the north side behind the businesses are nice to ride too. Not much traffic.
Thanks, Taylor. I agree on the side streets. The Recumbent trike Tour, Townsend, TN 2012-11-20 features some views of that section (at time- mark 13:00). Hope you've seen some of the Pigeon Forge videos, including those from Dolly's Parades. Ride with us sometime (if ya don't mind going slow!).
I really enjoy your rides.
I have two Catrike Trail's ordered for my wife and I.
We can't wait to get out and do what you do.
Very kool video
***** Thanks, Dick. Just take it easy and enjoy each riding moment.
Where did you get your trike rack?
Home made. It sits in a standard (available from many sources) hitch tray.
Dig your videos! Cool canopy too! Did you make the bracket/rack that your trike is attached to on the Hitch Haul?
Thanks, WW. Yes, the carrier was a DIY.
This is the 1st hitch-haul rack I made. The 2nd (still in use) utilizes an aluminum/tilt-up tray. Pretty simple stuff and does the job (AND OTHERS because it's still a usable tray).
wonderful video again. could you possibly tell us you gearing which gear your in and the grades your climbing.A big request i know but i'm a newbie and nice to know.DO you have another site than utube? cheers Matthew from Canadian east
Gearing: front rings 52/38/24, rear cassette 11-34. Don't forget, crank length will affect torque (longer = more), mine are 165mm and the rear tire size where smaller = more torque, mine is a large 700. We typically encounter 10% grades for relatively short distances but the Redbud Ride in London, KY we'll climb a 24% grade on one section. See some recent Redbud videos.
Facebook, Ed Miller but I won't add ya just to add a name. Let me see your trike or express a serious interest in the canopy. Thanks, Matthew.
Did you guys put shocks on the front of your trikes? Does that help quite a bit?
No shocks!
Is there a bent rider group in the Townsend area? We come up there a few times a year
Not to my knowledge. Thanks for watching.
Is there any way I could get the gps routes that you did in Maryville and Townsend? Strava, Ride with GPS or Garmin thanks
Dennis, both rides are pretty much on designated greenways. If you'll Google those respective areas I believe more information will be available.
Thanks for posting the video looks like you had a fun ride! I have a question about your sun canopy. Did you make it or purchase it? If you made it great work/design!
I made the canopy. Just finished an upgraded version that I hope to share info about soon. I have some videos on CZcams that are kinda out-dated but introduce you to the design steps thus far. Thanks for the compliment, I don't think there is a comparable on the market for simplicity and matched features.
Thanks for the ride-along! Nice video, but perhaps a GoPro with a helmet mount would be a nice touch!
Thanks for watching, Tom. GoPro on the helmet won't fit under the canopy and will only record where the head is turned and I question them for a decent external stereo sound, objects 'bent' near the side without tweaking on he lens. They are fine for rugged action shots, but I'm more interested in the hand-held ability to shoot sideways/backwards/down/up & zoom on a moments notice without having to loose focus where I'm going.
What type of trike do you have?
