I once saw a Ted talk with a transwoman who said that once she fully transitioned, she became very aware of the male privilege she enjoyed for most of her life. Caitlyn is trans but lives in a bubble.

Not all transpeople are well adjusted, super duper advocates for the "community" who behave like people think they should behave. Transpeople don't get personality transplants; they just become completely themselves. Caitlyn is just not a very likeable person. 😉 doesn't take anything away from her being trans. She transitioned under the guidance of professionals. Public opinion does not make for a yardstick to measure 'transgenderism' by.

Of course, Kim's relationship with Pete Davidson is easy/breezy. She is 42 years old, and he's a 28 year old lad. Her journey and global exposure immediately give her control of the relationship, while she is able to sip on honeysuckle lemonade and be amused by his keen sense of humor.
Except he's dated a lot of powerful women, which doesn't immediately give her control, and she always plays the submissive role. If Pete wasn't a commodity, didnt have his own power to leverage, and wasn't an it boy...she wouldn't be with him.

I don't think that Caitlyn is pretending to be trans. I think that she's one of those folks who happens to be a part of a particular community - and that's where it begins and ends. She's a very isolated person who only knows conservatism, whiteness, wealth and has mostly been surrounded by non-marginalized people for over 60 years. It's one of those "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" types of situations with Caitlyn. She is self-centered and doesn't understand, or feel empathy towards, people who aren't like her. That's it.

I can't believe that I am saying this, but for once, Caitlyn is correct on this one. It is trendy now to announce that you are gay, trans, gender-fluid, or non-binary....every week, there's a celebrity coming out. And maybe it's easier now to do so, but I question its sincerity. Are you doing this to advance your career? Or, for clout? I don't want my comment to be taken as a phobia because it isn't. It's just odd for me that now, some people are "coming out." It's the same feeling that I had when after the George Floyd murder, all of a sudden, all of these companies came out and are "supporting" the Black Lives Matter Movement (BLM), And we know damn well just the previous week, BLM wasn't a thought in mind; it was just trendy. But that's not how they really feel. That's what I think that this is. Caitlyn is correct.

Studies on adolescent girls have suggested that the huge increase in girls coming out as trans is the result of a social contagion.
As far as Al is concerned, Buck Angel who's lived as a trans man for over 30 years has said the exact same thing.
Furthermore, if Al's (people can finally be themselves) theory is correct, then we would see the same amount of people coming out as trans who are in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. But we only see this with adolescents *(mostly young girls)* who are prone to peer pressure and keeping up with the latest trends of their peer groups.

@@llcross04 they are not. Transition can't happen until age 18. Puberty blockers are used to treat genderdysphoria and goes hand in hand with very intensive therapy. Because without proper guidance; people run the risk of yo-yoing from transition to detransition only to end up transitioning anyway, playing havoc on body and mind.
