- In the wake of pro-Palestine demonstrations on campus, the University of Southern California in Los Angeles has announced its main graduation ceremony will not be held. It's also banned rallies on its private campus. But after protestors were forcefully removed by the police, activists have now set up tents across town at UCLA. Martin Markovits reports.

There are I am sure hundreds of thousands of ordinary Gazans who would have much preferred it if Hamas had slept in on the Saturday of Oct 7th last, just like students do on a Saturday. Not ever will these students be rudely awoken by multiple rocket barrages aimed at them as the Israelis have suffered. Had Hamas slept in, so much pain and trouble would have been avoided.
There are hundreds of thousands of ordinary Gazans, I imagine, who have no say against Hamas, indeed who dare not say anything negative about their incompetent, corrupt and iniquitous rulers, there are hundreds of thousands who would have gladly traded places with these students for a life of the mind and the imagination in the good old US of A.
